As a non-skater who doesn't know all the jargon, these board analysis videos have been a real help in starting to understand the differences between different tricks. Mostly, because you explicitly said what you were going to do and what things might influence how it's done. Very interesting.

@Tomasgarcia123 You know that's an absurd statement, right? Riding boats is the current fashion trend, and like all trends, it's swinging into extremes where many people are making skating way more difficult than necessary. I know dudes who want to do super tech tricks, but they're also convinced they should be skating 8.75 boards despite not being very tall, which is insane. An "adult" board is whatever works best for someone.

I’d think the hourglass would help the catch? I always choke up my stance so my front foot is more behind the bolts to fix any mob happening on sw flips. More foot on the board just slows the flip for me and adjusts how I catch it in the air.

The genius of this board is that it has no glaring weakness but has advantages over normal board shapes that are clear clear as day.

I might have 2 explanations for the railys to be negatively affected by this shape:
1: weight distribution: more weight round the tail, wont bounce up as fast.
2: the tail is longer, more room for friction with the rail.

I just got back into skating after 20 years, I had a Girl that was 8.5 as my first deck back it was kind of heavy and I didn't like the concave of that specific one, then I went to Andys Heron Egg and I love that deck but for me at my current skill level, I find it a tad wide. So now I am riding Spencer's Skull flight deck for the past couple weeks and I really like it.

I'm not really a skater although I snowboard. It's interesting to see these specialized boards acknowledged as relevant just like different snowboard types are utilized for different disciplines and conditions. It should help the industry as it's honestly seems way too cheap to skateboard to keep them in business. With three or four specialized boards that can quadruple the sales.

I appreciate the larger landing surface that comes with wider decks. It's the trucks that get me. I've slowly stepped up to an 8.38 and would maybe go 8.5 cept the idea of 8.5 trucks seems so big and heavy I can't imagine flipping it at all. When I stepped up to 8.25 trucks the wide glide feeling was nice enough but again 8.5 seems huge and .38 is as far out of sync with the .25 trucks I'm willing to go. I couldn't do 8.5 deck on 8.25 trucks it just doesn't seem right and my nerves couldn't take it.
