When I left my ex and moved back home, 2000 miles away, I missed the home he and I had bought and shared, the friends I’d made there, the library that I had frequented, and so many other things. I dreamed about that house on and off for years. I missed the relationship I’d hoped to have with him, but I’ve never missed the one we actually had. Fast forward, 30 years. I’ve been married nearly 20 to the best man I’ve ever known. And even if we hadn’t met, I’d would not regret ending my first marriage and the lessons I took from that.
So glad you’re not feeling pressure to share the whole story. Like you said, not everything needs to be divulged.
Regarding car chats and honest moments along your healing process though, one of the most beautiful aspects of your channel is your honest, open, and wise sharing. Please know that it is encouraging, helpful, eyeopening, and heartwarming. We all go through difficult situations and it is refreshing to see you be authentic and transparent on social media, using discretion of course, as you always do. All to say- don’t be hesitant to bless someone with your reflections, honest feelings, lessons learned, and growth. ♥️
I’m not sure if anyone else has said this but I think there’s a difference between sharing your story and making it a mission to tell everyone what your ex did. But like everyone else is saying it’s your story and you don’t have to share it if you don’t want to!

Thank you, I think I needed this today for affirmation. My husband of 28 years left me in December of 2020. I have been ok and regaining my joy and self worth. Today, I kept asking myself “why wasn’t I enough?” Then I realized rather quickly that it was the devil lying to me and as soon as I realized this, peace came over me and I heard God tell me that I have ALWAYS been enough. My daughters and I are in a healthy place mentally and emotionally. 💕💕💕 I must tell you that you are a wise and beautifully caring young woman. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've always believed that if you don't want your mom or respected friends to know what you're doing, don't do it. When my ex cheated on me, I didn't hide anything he did and it also made me feel better to share my hurt with my friends. I had no responsibility to protect his reputation since he hadn't even tried to protect his own character in doing such dastardly & un-husbandly things. BUT I wasn't a UA-camr, putting it out there to the world, either. You could always frame it in the third person point of view and tell it as a story of someone else. 😉 We're all curious, obviously, but protect yourself and only do what you're comfy with. ❤

I love these videos. I feel like your divorce story is pretty clear cut, but I respect you not slandering your ex. I too went through a divorce and a lot of what you describe or don’t say is basically how my ex was. Very secretive and always hiding things (including other women) and just basically not being open and honest about what he really wanted. But you are a million times better without the negativity and someone bringing you down or making you feel less than. I love watching you blossom.

I’m studying my bachelor in amsterdam and I’m in no way in a season of life of marriage or divorce or anything and yet there is something so relatable and calming about watching your videos. I’m the oldest daughter so watching your videos feels like having an older sister. You have amazing advice and you’re in no way boring to me. I get excited every time I see a new video. I know this comment will probably get lost in the sea of comments, it’s my first comment I’ve ever written which is a testament to how you make people feel a different type of connection. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for probably 4-5 years, back when you lived in your apartment. Last year, I was not watching as many of your videos, and I didn’t even realize it, but I just wouldn’t seek them out. I know you said you enjoyed doing subscription boxes because it was easier, but I think that was not something that I was interested in as content. But the last few months, I’ve been watching every video and loving them. The vlogs have been so interesting. I like watching you explore the area, and it makes me want to visit Texas!

Have fun in Maine! I was born and raised in northern Maine and came back to live after serving 9 years in the Navy in San Diego. Mainers are like no one else. Also, Holy Donut is a must and they have gluten free options. Dress in layers, Maine spring is a rollercoaster you get all the seasons in one day. Cold in the morning, warm at noon and chilly in the afternoon.

This was a fun video. I just want to say that what you have shared about your situation has been extremely helpful, mostly seeing how you act, react, and push forward. That being said, our knowing more details is not so important. People’s situations can be similar in a general way, but details will be unique. So please feel free to continue being a little vague. Honestly, there is a part of me that would love to know all the juicy details, but they would not be particularly helpful. I have often thought, “Michel is a such classy person. She is kind and considerate, and she treats people better than they sometimes deserve to be treated. I’d really like to be more like her in my dealings with people.” So keep being a role model, my friend.

It's definitely important to assess why something bothers you--and if that answer is just that they/their content isn't resonating with your life anymore then don't be afraid to block/unfollow! Set up boundaries in your online life just as much in your IRL one :)

it's really personal and just because your career is sharing your life does not mean that you have to share this as well. you know this already but wanted to let you know that we the viewers knot this too.
I think it’s a beautiful thing that your heart is open to receiving love and the potential of letting someone in. I went many years of healing after a toxic abusive relationship, but throughout that time my ex was essentially stalking me and trying to stay in my life. I did the work to remove that toxicity from my life and I didn’t date throughout that process (first of all, for my own healing and growth and second, the fear of my ex partner causing my extra stress for me casual dating). But when I met my fiancé he came into my life at a time that I JUST opened my heart to starting to venture into the dating world and my first connection was truly my soulmate. He protected me and set the boundary with my ex who would not hear my voice when I asked for that respect, which was so powerful, but didn’t take from my individuality or personal power.
All that to say, earlier when I started watching this video you had not yet answered the question about being open to dating I had a STRONG feeling that someone really special is out there for you and they may come into your life before you expect it. I hope it is as special and healing as the love that came into my life after so many years of pain and healing.
You are a beautiful person both inside and out. I may not have similar life situations to yours but love love love listening to you and watching your videos.

It's interesting because I am physical touch and my husband is not naturally a touchy person but he is so so great at meeting my touch needs. Acadia National Park in Maine is absolutely beautiful. If it’s not on your list when you are in Maine, consider adding it should you have some extra time. My dad and I went in the Fall one year and couldn’t get enough of the beauty.
Like the openess of this video. Watching brings back some not so nice memories...but I choose to watch. I've been where you are and wow. I had someone that I thought was a friend, her husband worked with mine and she lied straight to my face when I asked questions. If she had been truthful it would've saved so much agony.

The financial habits priority really resonates with me. The biggest qualm I have about marrying my fiancé is his spending habits(which we've talked about, but he doesn't follow through on what we compromise on).
He is a spender through and through. His love language to share is gifts... and he ends up buying everything he sees that reminds him of them(mostly family). This also applies to himself. He buys everything he wants and most of his meals consist of Kwik Trip food and eating out.
Which all gives me SO MUCH ANXIETY!!! I am a saver and want a sense of financial security for the future. At this point, I'm starting to feel like we will never get close to that, which scares me.

There will always be people that are negative even nasty but I try to remember that maybe they are really struggling and don't know where to direct or cope with that anger.
