@@kyro0996 that's not what a hood scoop is for, it's for top mount intercoolers. The radiator is located at the front. The back should be lifted by hood risers to extract the extra heat if overheating is an isssue
@@Makaya9s Yes, it was actually an issue for me on the WRX. I have a FMIC instead of the TMIC, but still have the hood scoop. Hood scoop only holds back cooling when theres nothing to cool up there, at that point reverse scoops are much more effective

Everybody knows you're rebuilding the apex seals a lot lol, especially when boosted. Your friends are either leaving them stock, not driving hard, or not putting many miles on it. With some boost, you expect a rebuild every 50k miles. That dorito stops sealing with the walls after a while.@@Diontb
@@frederickschulze8014 ive owned multiple and currently own one (currently a '10 R3) "That dorito doesn't seal well with the walls" should be a clear statement you have no idea what you're talking about ive personally overheated my current car twice (majorly too) and STILL never had a problem with it, daily drove it for 18 months still no problem. every rotary whether boosted or not, whether 12a, REW, MSP are all reliable and again ive seen rotaries of all generations last way over 100k miles on original engines, if you tune your car with someone who has no idea what theyre doing for sure they'll break everyone knows this but this is the same for any engine regardless of type, size or formation. also i have to add 50k miles is alot of miles for an engine as uneconomical as the rotary thats like ~10 years lol

They're a meme and they can make a lot of power for how light they are, but with any kind of mileage on it, you will burn a lot of oil and you will have to rebuild apex seals. Biggest issue with them was the lack of actual hardtop sales when the car WAS released, so there isnt as many in circulation.
