I was a little miffed as a young one, since the minute I started seeing kids on the show, after Bob left, I thought "they should've done this with Bob around". But after learning all the crazy grown-up contestants who always gave him a rough time, at his age, during the pricing games, and even at the big wheel, I understood completely, that he was just prone to dealing with grown-up contestants, more than kids.
Wow, the 1st episode in which Bob interacted with a kid, in the audience. He actually did that on an episode of "Truth or Consequences," during the last years.
I am from MA and was 10 years old when this aired and I loved the show then. Whenever I had a half day at school I would run home to watch it. Thank you for showing this. Bob Barker we miss on TPIR!!
@@jjaa6157 Same here! Here’s what it added up to: No school + TPIR + one bowl of homemade chicken soup = one AMAZING day! The only difference is that I live in Montreal Quebec, Canada and would do the same thing, except I would mostly be watching it at my grandparents house!
This was incredibly touching and nice of the show staff to put this together - something the boy and his family would never forget, I'm sure. On one of the other popular Barker-hosted TPIR channels here on YT, there's a frequent commenter who goes by the same name of this little boy, but I doubt it's the same person. That user just tag-teams with another one as they get in ridiculous comnenting battles with other users. They should grow up, already.
Was there a reason they gave David those toys and not some other kid? I am guessing that he was probably the only kid in the studio audience during Bob Barker's regime.
I wonder if David was a special needs child or there was some story behind him because it's interesting that they had prepared all those toys for him, with the staging and research needed to put that all together. Plus, someone was holding a boom mic off to the side which had to have some purpose other than so we could hear David speak, as Bob took care of that easily.
He’s 5 in this, so for a boy of 5, he’s pretty simple. That’s how most 5 year old boys are when they talk and such. Maybe a little slower as he talked than most 5 year olds but my guess is he was shy.
I wished they did parents and children specials during Bob’s era like they have in Drew’s era.
That would’ve been nice
That would have been great
My favorite part of the Drew era. The special episodes.
Standards and practices are very different back then

2:04 - "John, who's our next contestant?"
This is definitely one of the sweetest moments of Barker era TPIR
Move Over Truth or Consequences!
David was so cute. He can play in the Price is Right now that he is a grown man. i wish that they had the kids special during Bob Barker's era.
This video melted my heart
Well that was beautiful ❤️
2:03 This kid, Johnny Olson, Rod Roddy, shall forever win my heart with their legendary voices.
The price is right was good
Lucky young man! How many people can say they won something on The Price Is Right when they were five years old.

Wait! Wait! Bob is still alive! He'll turn 99 in a few weeks.
I lived in Buffalo, New York, and whenever we had a snow day or I was sick, I would watch it.

I wonder where David is today..
5/20/2024? Soooo cute I teared up. ❤🥺
I know little David likely played the heck out of those Transformers toys, but G1 examples in the box are worth quite a pretty penny today.
So cute 😍
I remember this when it first aired!!!
Very nice! Never saw this before! 😊
This is the first an only known instance where a child asked the announcer for the next contestant.
This is adorable
that's what makes bob the king!
Transformers and Go-Bots were HUGE in that time.
Rest in peace, Bob Barker!
He is grownn
This video made me a little emotional

I also agree, they should have done kids specials at some point with Bob.
OK, this is very interesting. At 0:33, there is a boom mic. But Bob is holding a Mic. So, was that hand-held mic a prop?
David if you seen it that’s your friend
David was such a cute little boy that I wished that he could have been a contestant on the Price is Right
Cute though
I hope that his parents taped this show so he could see himself as a little boy.
Well hopefully he's still around to see it on UA-cam
David needs to come back now and play a game on the price is right!
Hey markyyy what was David’s last name I couldn’t spell it
TRANSFORMERS And GOBOTS Toys On The PRICE IS RIGHT!
They were huge back in the day.
The Dinobots!
Exactly! Gobots too.
I wonder what year this was? That is so sweet and that they would do that his for little David! ❤
March 19, 1985.

Is this the 1st show with Johnny's new mic?
Yes. I just checked my collection.
@@markyyy94 This is definitely the one. I checked it last night. Thanks for the info 👍 😀
💯👍
Take away the market
Bob might touch the little girl
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! HE IS NOT THAT KIND OF GUY
