    Nice review although from having seen other reviews this paints looks really good on a white primer. The colours really pop that way.
    I was surprised to see that they worked really well with the dark silver primer and I wonder how it would have turned out with a silver primer.
    You didn't mention one of the most important aspects of this range of paint; it's the price per paint quantity ratio.
    4,31 € for 60 ml in a dropper bottle (with a mixing ball inside) is just unbeatable.

    • @kielerpaintjob

      There are so many things that could be tested in a video like this haha. So i decided to go with what i wanted to do instead of testing 10 different ideas and not having this video up before next month.
      Also yes the price is absolutely amazing, but i never mention prices. Simply because prices change in time or place of purchase

    • @DirtPoorWargamer
      @DirtPoorWargamer 2 роки тому +2

      On the topic of undercoats:
      It seems there should be a lot that can be done with colorized zenithals.
      For example:
      What would one of the reds look like over a blue/grey|white/yellow zenithal?
      What if you reversed it?
      What if you used purple instead of blue, and/or orange instead of yellow?
      What if you used green for the shadows?
      Or even crazier (probably nothing good, but could potentially produce interesting results):
      What if you used green for the highlight?
      What if you don't use a neutral buffer and let blue and yellow mix during the zenithal?
      Then just follow that train of thought around the color wheel and experiment. Sure, a colorized zenithal is going to limit your color palette for the mini somewhat, but I have a feeling it could provide more depth and tie everything together better than plain ol' black/white.

      @@DirtPoorWargamer i am very sure there are many MANY different options that'll have a great end result. I'm currently working on a mini which was painted gold before using the Red Cloak Dipping Ink. And this looks great too. So which ever idea you have, go for it 😁

    Thank you for the review. Well done. 🙂 I think these are designed to work like a contrast paint, in the same realm as GW's Contrast Paint, Army Painter's Speed Paints and the upcoming Vallejo Xpress Paints. I was looking for comparisons between the Dipping Inks and the other contrast-style paints. So you didn't really give us that, since, as you said, you haven't really had much experience with contrast painting.
    That being said, this was still a useful and well-done review, especially because you showed how the paints would work with three different types of primer. Based on your review, I think I will try out some of these paints, especially because of the very low price point.

I've been happy with SpeedPaints for the most part but I've had issues with reactivation that makes the painting process slower and troublesome. Hiya Alinda- Great review on these paints!
    I just wondered if you might be able to help? I am a complete beginer with figure painting but have an art background so should be fine with the painting part. Basically, I collect transformers and am trying to 'repair' or colour match this chrome orange colour which is flaking off the figure 🙈The figure has like a chrome metallic orange with a mirror finish - so I was going to by some GSW paints as the metallic chrome and some of the other orange inks look like they might work?
    However do you know would I mix this with an orange first or water it down and put it over the top? any advice or tips woud me amazing - its been really hard to get any specific answers as its a bit of a specific thing I am asking lol!🤣

    • @kielerpaintjob
      @kielerpaintjob  Рік тому

      Hey there Stewart!
      Thank you for liking the review. I've purchased the new colors too so be ready for a Part2!
      As for your question about the transformer's flakey paint haha. First thing I'd like to recommend is to get all the loose paint off, you don't want any more chipping after you've added new paint. Maybe and i say maybe... It's better to repaint the whole chrome part as to get little to no color difference. But I'm not a collector so i don't know how much of a NoNo that is.
      As for the chrome. I wouldn't mix anything into the chrome but rather give the chrome a layer of orange ink. Maybe even the "Metal Filter" product. Although it doesn't have an orange now I'm thinking about it... It does have a red and "yellow" (gold).
      What I think the best solution is; test some ideas before diving in. Use a plastic spoon or something like that, get some chrome on it and try an ink, a wash, a metal filter or anything you might have in mind. Just to be sure you have the perfect match.
      Sorry I don't have a "this is the plan" answer but i hope it's at least a bit helpful.
