Just a heads up, don't remove the mother leaf like this, the baby will gain nutrients and extra sugar through the leaf and it will dry up after a while. You can remove it after that.
I get a few babies. But i have a container with dirt for.this process and it takes months you need to be patient.you can also behead succulents and get babies
I so am stealing bits of succulents from around my neighborhood.... wow I've read replys and comments..crazy theives/naturalist we are.. love the plant lovers that give those little leaves on the ground and begging to live a chance of life
They first and foremost thrive on neglect and a well draining substrate with low or even no organic content at all, like mixes of lava, calcined clay, pumice, zeolite etc. A commercial succulent potting mix with added perlite for example will work ok as well, some succulent mixes are even just fine on their own, but unfortunately by far not all of them. In general - just give them plenty of direct sunlight, and then just forget about them. Simply leave them alone for a few weeks or so. The overwhelming majority of dead succulents are "loved" to death, they really don't need you to do anything besides a thorough (!) watering way less frequently than you most probably think is necessary. (Of course it all depends on where you are, where you keep them etc. But as a rule of thumb - Never water when they haven't been bone dry for about a week, if you already had problems with rot and dieing succulents best only water when you see signs of them being thirsty, (ie. deflated looking, crinkling, soft leaves) AND they've been dry for a while already, and always make sure you really saturate that well draining soil/Mineral mix thoroughly! If you overwater they might dry out too, that can be deceiving. But it happens because its roots rotted away already and it can't take up water anymore.)
@@heinzhaupthaar5590 Thanks for all that tips! I actually gave them all to my mom and she made them alive and pretty somehow. 😂 In my hands they (cactus for example) shrink to the point they look dead or other way around rot, even if I decide to only water them how it's written in guide. 🙃 And that's actually about all my plants (RIP to all my unsuccessful tries). I can't find the balance at all so I gave up and just have some fake plants instead and said to all family and friends to never bring me pot plants. 😭

When you pick the leaves, make sure they have dried over, otherwise bacteria can get in. Leave the leaves a couple days to callous over and then place them in some succulent / cactus soil in a shallow dish. Don’t water the leaf as it can rot! And it sends to take longer than 2 weeks. Keep them away for 3-4 days before you put them in soil.
you should let the newly cut leaves in the air for at least 24 hours for it to not rot.
