Great stuff as always Dr Chris 👍🏻 Going through hell with a A4000D Rev C (Rev 2) board at the moment. Removed 2 borked FastRAM SiMM sockets to plan to use only 2 x 8MB SIMMs in banks 1 & 3. Ended up putting in A bodge wire just to get 1 8MB to show in Simm bank 1. Put a good working 8MB into Simm bank 3 and Yellow screen 🤦🏻♂️ Also RTC not being seen and the quietest of Music when testing with Amikit. Dang it! Arn’t Amiga Fun? Liked the “That’s a Knife” Meme 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Cheers 🍻
I have a similar problem with solder. It seems that there are solder tips especially for Led Free solder (LF tips). Some of the solder will behave like chewing gum, if not used with the right tip. There is another trick, use low temperature flux, 138 Degrees Celsius (for SMD) which will some how magically interact with that solder and actually make it melt. I will diagnose a C128 soon. As always learned something new! Thanks :)
The Commodore resesitaion was a laugh, the bodged borked PCB traces... not so much. I still have over 20 assorted Amigas and not one has been as bad as some of the nighmares I've seen you bring back to life.
Anytime anyone says area, I think of the Frantics, Boot To The Head, Make Up Dirty Words - it rained and now I have soggy areas.

You dont do rescue breaths anymore and haven’t for over 15 years 😂. Just steady compressions, although thats on humans not amiga’s. 😂
