As someone wrote before: I couldn't sleep here, either. :-) Too many patterns, to much shining gold, high ceiling and so forth. It looks beautiful and intimidating, great artwork, no question - but I could never relax here. Thnk you so much for sharing.
Could never sleep in a place like that. I love my little cottage with a cosy bed and a beautiful view in the morning. Drift off for the night to the sound of owls and wake in the morning to song birds. That is heaven on earth.
Thank you for sharing !!! The gold gilded mirror is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in a long time, would love to experience that room in person
thanks for showing the view too, a lot of people seemed to missed it, but imagine to sleep here and wake up to the view every morning must be quite nice! :))
I love how some are saying oh i could never sleep here. I could! Back in the day, it was either this idea or a tiny room that probably stunk like the fish market
@@Anna-fm7hh You're right. The place was absolutely gross. There a few YT videos on this matter. No wonder French perfume back in the day was so strong (some still are).

Wow wow wow absolutely stunning Len love, Marie Antoinette certainly loved luxurious beautiful things, have an amazing trip with Megan, tfs sweetheart huge hugs x Julie
Thanks a million for showing us this Len. The only time Ive seen her room is in the film Marie Antoinette, the modern version and it is was either shot at the Palace or they made a supreme job of copying it for the film. It is sumptuous isnt it. Imagine it in its day with lots of people around that bed, watching the birth of her children. Doesnt bear thinking about. Enjoy the rest of your trip and video something else for us if you have time. Much love x
I've always wanted to go to Paris, and especially Versailles. I have read a lot of books about it the Sun King featured in a lot of them!!;) Hope you had/have a lovely time xxx
She liked luxury like every other queens. But at the same time she also wanted to live more like a simple woman, away from the court, with more simple clothes and she was blamed for that and required to dress like a real queen
Well, I am not going to lie ... ... If I am super rich, I would like to live like this. I love the tall windows and beautiful scenery looking out into the garden.
This was her “official” bedroom BUT she slept in another smaller bedroom for real. They’d wake her up and she’d go to this bedroom to be “officially” woken up and dressed for the day.
You can't tell but the beds are short. The Queen slept sitting up the only time that they would be lying down is when they were dead. The door you can see was coverup with tapestry back then. I had been in that room.
I've always found this bedroom gorgeous, but my issue with it is the over use of wallpaper and pinks. I know Marie Antoinette loved the color, and pastel colors were very popular in fashion at the time, but it's a no for me personally. I prefer richer, darker colors like burgundys, blacks, and darker shades of blue or even green. I am curious as to whether the mattress in this bedframe was the one the Queen actually slept on in life or if it was destroyed when the Revolutionaries stormed Versailles and this one is simply a replica.
В 34 года Мария навсегда покинула Версаль. Я не понимаю языка, но понял, что слева была потайная дверь, куда она бежала той роковой ночью. Мерси за видео.
Beautiful, Is It Furnished All The Way Through The Palace ? Some One A Long Time Ago Said There Was No Furniture In It Just Empty Rooms, Never Been To Paris Would Love To Go One Day !!! Enjoy Your Time With Your Daughter Hugs Lynn X
When you visit Versailles and particularly the "Grand Appartement" (intended for ceremonies), you must always remember that those rooms were not supposed to be heavily furnished, just because they were supposed to host thousands of visitors, who would stand still. If you want to see furnished rooms in the palace, you have to visit (private tour) the "Petits appartements" and "appartements privés" 😉
We were taught that the bedroom of the king and queen, including the furniture, was vandalized during the revolution. I am curious as to know if those furnishings are original?
To be honest, I do not know. On the audio I listened while walking through Versailles they did not say they were replicas. It might say at the Versailles website.
Just for your information,... the son of King Louis XVI was taken out of the prison and a dead boy was put in his place..the descendant of king Louis son is alive at present. According to many catholic prophecies when France becomes dire ,this descendant who is called Henry of the Cross will arrive in Paris and will take his place as the new King. Together what's left of the army they will fight against the Muslims and push them beyond the Rhine . Between him and a holy pope,Christianity will flourish again in Europe and England will once again become catholic.
Back then if you had a choice you would have chosen this bedroom because most people didn’t have the luxury of even having a bed unless you were wealthy! for the ones saying they couldn’t sleep in that room! I would of loved my bedroom
@@lenscraftylife well it was more for how the title of your video reads - Versailles, Paris; comma in between denoting Versailles is located within whatever geographical district / region that follows it (ex. Los Angeles, CA) well, I guess you meant to use the comma differently then, salut-
@@lucienoon7262ah oke, thanks for explaining. I get more remarks like this, now I know why! I just wanted to keep the title as short as possible, but I’ll change it. Thanks!
The stools at the end of her bed must have been for higher ranking ladies in waiting. I know the etiquette was so strict only certain people could sit on stools, only certain ranks could have a folding chair with no back to it and I think only royalty could have a chair with a back on it..
Just for your information...when a group of starving people arrived at the palace,Marie Antoinette was informed about them, she went to meet them and asked the kitchen staff to bring all the cakes from the kitchen and give them to these starving people. She was a great catholic despite the anti catholic bigotry that's being said about her up until this day. Get to the real truth.
Correct, that’s what I’m saying 😉. It’s hard to hear because of the mask I was obligated to wear back then, but I say outside of Paris or close to Paris.
It probably isn’t in perfect condition when you get up close I think. Plus I guess they keep the condition in the rooms as perfect as they can for preservation, but I’m not an expert on that. Interesting though, perhaps you can Google on it, to find out more on how they do this.

Thanks for your comment. I prefer a smaller cosy bedroom too. You get lost in this one. 😉😁
Good news : you will never have the opportunity to sleep in a royal bed. Stay in your play Mobil houses!
🤣so true
I already am, since I’m a daughter of the most high King 😉😁
Really

I totally agree! Sounds like you live in a beautiful spot. By the sound of it I’ld rather live in your cottage than in this palace too 😉😁
I want both so bad-😭😭😭
That's why she developed la petit trianon, a simple cottage for relaxation
Back in the day, they sure had the most ornate furnishings, didn’t they! Loved seeing this too!🤗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👩❤️👩

Prefer her private bedroom
You mean the one in her other house in the park? I would prefer anything private! 😉

Was this on a regular tour or do you have to go on a guided tour to see this?
This was an audio tour. You can get a device with earphones when you get there and then you can do the tour at your own pace, which is excellent.
Great that they allow to make videos inside. How much in advance did you book the guided tour? Thanks for making the video.
