Yes ,but they are so nice when they get back to running order. Some people appreciate the older ones when things were so much easier to work on , my first was a 64 bug in blue with a little engine that ran like a top after i repaired it from 10 years of neglect. It became my first and favorite ride.

Thought hey that bus looks pretty good for its age I’ve definitely seen way worse. There’s a guy on UA-cam named Mic Bergsma and he’s been fully restoring a VW bus think it’s a 21 window has the full slider roof on it. There’s a ton of companies out there producing parts to upgrade to modernize your VW while still maintaining that beautiful retro style. Enjoyed the ride along and certainly hope the chicken is healing for that ordeal.
I agree, it looks good for its age, but it doesn't look good for a recent restoration. This one needs a lot more work, or even a redo! Thanks man! More to come!

What I was trying to say is Hyundai made such a big deal of that in the late 1980s yet Volkswagen had that in the 60s lol
I can't wait to drive mine since swapping out the 009 to an 034VA. I can barely remember how it drove with the 009, but I'm sure it'll be much nicer to drive now

Much appreciated! I was waiting for the solar system to be done before I really talked too much about it so I had all my "ducks in a row" as they say... my installation process was a very special case and we ran into a lot of troubles along the way, but they got them all ironed out, and was finalized not very long ago. The system is producing quite well right now! About 3x power as I consume on a full sun day!

Duck man I think you could do an entire series on buyer beware of Brazilian VWs. Nothing inherently wrong with a Brazilian VW but they’re dressed up turds. I’ve seen some very scary craftsmanship related to a Brazilian VW, which is true of any VW but I think people buying them are getting taken for a ride.
Oh man, that entire series wouldn't just be Brazilian, or even just VWs, there are so many scam restores out there its incredible, but especially with these cars that are bought sight unseen, from overseas... you're really at the mercy of the seller, and if you're foolish enough to make a deal on something you've not been able to review yourself, then you truly deserve it. 😁👍🦆💩

Question Duck man what is the difference between the top and bottom of the fuse box terminals?
Well if were talking air-cooled VW fuseboxes they are the top and bottom is same as far as connection sizes and shapes. But logically one is an IN and the other side is an OUT to next device. There are a few items that break these general rules, but the wiring diagram should help you see those. Hope that helps! 😁👍🏻🦆💩

Yes, Brazilian is considered less desirable, but I think that it really doesn't matter. These things are beginning to sell for almost as much as their German counterparts!
