I don't care about gaming on a pc anymore. just play games on the playstation. much cheaper. windows 7 was the last good windows os. everything after that was disgusting imo. I loved xp and 7.
As a windows PC user for Gaming and Mac user for Productivity I can totally agree with you. Windows Legacy UI is the barrier for Windows 11. I use both the OS and WSL as well. Most of the times Windows 11 sucks also if your using multi monitor "separte virtual desktop for individual monitors" is not present in Windows 11, it was present in Windows 10 which brutally sucks. I like both world at the end of the day.
As a creative I use a M2 Macbook Air and move my ecosystem to Apple. I am still surprised how Mac OS is easy to use, powerfu and efficient compare to Windows.
Honestly this is the first time I entered this channel and from the first video I can tell confirmly this channel is very beautiful! Great video! Great channel!! ❤
I got a MacBook Air 15. I've never seen a Mac laptop in real life. If only it's keyboard was as good as my Legion 5 Pro 16. The Mac's layout reminds me of ChromeOS, and the settings app on Ventura and Windows 11 are similar. I don't especially like any of these OS', but I liked Windows 10. From what I've read, there a lot of people who prefer the previous MacOS. To sum everything up, I think they'll continue to become more and more a like. I wouldn't be surprised if those three eventually become one OS, with Linux as the only alternative. Similar to the brutalism occurring today - less options, less color, more grey.
Just do Win+PrtSc, automatically takes screenshot, copies it to clipboard as well as saves to screenshot folder in pictures. Don't bragg about things you properly don't know about.
The animations and fluidity is the biggest difference between the two. macOS is just smoother, and there is no reason for windows to be this bad! Switching between virtual desktops in Windows 11 is so glitchy it sometimes just jumps to the next desktop and right back to the previous one. All because Microsoft does not care.
@@aintrxiden ryzen 6000, and it's not hardware issue, the software is stupid. You can cry all you want, macOS is smoother and I have no idea why every windows user tries to deny that. Ever heard mac users say Mac is better for gaming? No, because it obviously isnt
@@aintrxiden I use a surface laptop and they are right. Switching desktops sucks because the animation is just so awful. Even my work Chromebook has better animations
From what I see switching desktops in macOS has a problem where the animation is synchronous, which means that changes in the desktop actually being processed only happens after the animation finishes. This is why many people complain of switching desktops being too slow on macOS and that you will continue interacting with the previous desktop until the animation is finished. Windows jumps back to the previous one because the animation is asynchronous, so you can switch between desktops really quickly and essentially "skip" the animation. I turned down the animations on my iPhone because generally Apple products use a lot of synchronous animations that really impede speed and productivity (try entering your PIN really fast on an iPhone for instance). Personally, I would take getting things done faster over smoother animations any day.
@@firestormjupiter Yes, this is true, but on Windows you cannot use the previous desktop while the animation plays, since it glitches and if you try and click something, it MIGHT be transferred to the next desktop or it might not. Also, windows has a lot more of those synchronous animations, for example the quick settings UI is not usable until the animation finishes.
you see mac is used mostly for editing/rendering videos and online meeting, nothing more. in the other hand, windows is used by many people that needs a powerful and reliable system. my brother is an architect, he needs CAD and Geo Gis system architecture, and its just full of Calculation, i have no idea what is what, with a drawing books filled with all his design, guess what, he use Windows Laptop with 4 TB SSD filled with CAD file and data analysis. sadly in mac, they dont have it. my father is Army vet and now he work in an office that uses hundreds of windows PC to publish books (mostly manuals) for a company. my uncle runs a car repair shop, and he use windows to setup the ECU and alot of things like installing android touchscreen dashboard into an old car from 2016 and older car. what about mac? i found out my sister use m1 macbook for her study in the college, and what is she doing? drawing, and video editing because she choose arts. me? i studied Computer Technology because of my dad, he don't want me to be a mechanic, and it turns me to a fkn geeks, but it makes me understand why 78% of the population use Windows.
@@jabed8436 nothing that's unique. Everything he mentioned is already on both systems out of the box or can be configured. One of the reasons for me would be the set of Unix utilities because it's a Unix system.
I use both everyday: My work laptop is a MacBook Pro/My gaming laptop runs Windows/I have a Mac Book Air M2 for mobility, I have a Mac mini M1 next to my work computer for running a marketing business/light video editing/donking around. Mac has a much better UI/UX and feels cozy to run. Everything is quite simple, you do have to learn that windows management is its main flaw, and just give in that Mac OS is more design to utilize virtual work spaces and gestures to multi task. Windows has the power of universality and has far more software for it, and it is the daddy of gaming. I'm pretty much ONLY using windows these days for gaming.
I haven't used a Mac daily in a long time, but there are a lot more differences in the details that are better than Windows. One thing I remember is that if you copy an item, it copies both the item, and the name so you can copy an item, create a folder then paste which pastes the name of the item. Enter the folder and paste again and it pastes the item into the folder. Maybe Maybe that's less important now that Windows has finally gotten the multi clipboard feature. But, I had a multi-clipboard on my phone for 10 years before Windows got it. I'm not sure if MacOS has it now or not. It probably does.
Actually you can have some sort of "hot-corner" on Windows. This option is called "Select the far corner corner of the taskbar to show the desktop". If you enable this, when you'll move your cursor to the bottom-left corner of the screen and you click there, the desktop will be shown, until you press again on it.
I use both macbook and windows, I like Windows better, macbooks are very expensive and boring, I play a lot of video games on windows aznd also windows has a lot of apps
The best comparison I've heard is this: "Mac is like a Tesla, it's lean, it's fast, it's efficient, looks great but it has imperfections here and there that makes you want to pull your hair when it occurs. Windows is like the Hummer EV, does the same thing and more but less efficient and it still has the unnecessary bells and whistles found in the older Hummer that ultimately bogs it down. Powerful but wastes a ton of energy doing the same thing." I own a G14 with i9 and RTX 3070 alongside a 16" MBP M3 Pro... ...there's something about the Mac that just gets the basics so right so I reach for it 85% of the time. Display, speakers, battery life/efficiency, webcam... The G14, I only use it for gaming, I appreciate Windows. I love my G14 no doubt but I just cannot bring myself to "love" Windows fully beyond its gaming prowess.
The thing that I prefer the most about MacOS is the Stability and predictability : no more blue screens, no more missing DLL, no more driver issues, no more random reboots, no more software crash, no more windows updates, no more random rebooting, no more change to my settings, no more ads in my menu on a paid software, no more crappy UI, no more slow software.
In windows, if the file is not saved yet, it shows a small asterisk at the end of the window name. So, this feature actually exists on windows as well.
One other thing, Mac OS shows you shortcuts in the menus, so you can easily learn them while discovering the OS, whereas in Windows, well "Bing is your friend" (Hardware features are not OS linked)
Well as a windows power user I m way to scared to learn a news OS from start + I saw many videos on MacOS, for me it's better to save that money coz I was planning to go over my limit to buy one
I'm definitely a bigger fan of MacOS than Windows. I would say though that one of the biggest advantages of Windows is backwards compatibility. On my current Windows 10 PC, I can install Adobe CS3, which was released in 2007, and run it with no problem at all. I think that was impossible on my work Mac which was purchased in 2014. It's not just that. It seems that with every MacOS update, a printer or scanner or something would no longer be compatibile. All of those old things have continued to work on Windows but, on my Windows 11 laptop, CS3 will install but there is a visual glitch on the mouse pointer. But, it actually still does work. Other than that, I prefer everything about MacOS. My next desktop PC will definitely be a Mac. I stopped buying Macs because they were just too expensive to get what I wanted, but I just can't go forward with Windows and spend my life fighting against Microsoft trying to force me into things that I don't want.
Honestly, I have no clue I like both for different reasons. If I didn't care about gaming I would probably go with a Mac, but then again it's because a MacBook is a great laptop. In terms of os, it's really just what you prefer.
@@bogxd If find the best way to use both, because on the right side is Windows which good at gaming and compatibility, but on the left side macOS which has good UI design, and a lot of cool features.
I believed the same thing until I tried a mac. It's so much slower than a gaming pc it's crazy, lots of mouse scroll problems and compatibility problems...
mac best for work, and windows best for gaming, spotlight in mac is verry power full, i use mac 6 mount and i going back to windows, and I conclude like that
MacOS is meant to be used for certain things, and Windows is meant to be used for certain things as well. Simple, each OS is meant for different uses, there aren't any specifically best ones.
One note on the trackpad issue: one thing you CAN'T do on Mac is completely customise the gestures. In Windows, depending on your laptop model, you can completely customise these gestures to anything you want :D :D
You forget biggest feature of mac compared to windows. Photos app. Photos app on windows is so bad that it almost feels useless. Mac with latest update photos app is magical. You can search a person, place ,number, word or by object and photos app will show all the photos related to search and even shows photos in which ‘keyword’ is written or printed and on top of that you can select the word or number from the photos.
I honestly couldn't care about animations, matter of fact the slow animations are the biggest reason why I can't use macs for more than 12 seconds, my computer is tool and not a toy, I want things to happen as quick as possible the moment I press a key, I don't wanna watch a pixar movie every time I open an app. Consistency? that fact the traffic lights aren't even aligned and it changes so much from program to program. windows is a legacy os that's why you can open 20+ years old programs in windows where that's that even remotely possible in macs. You can go to desktop by pressing win + d to just click on the very right bottom of the task bar. Screenshots are saved on the picture folders as well and saved to your clipboard as well. You press F2 to rename, that's the standard for like every program as well. bro make your mind before you make videos like this, you are talking about windows 11 and then to prove negative points you are just showing awful screenshots from win10, what is your point? Like you are talking about mac vs windows and then you start talking about the hardware.
I mostly agree with points covered in this video, but there is one thing Mac handles infinitely worse than Windows -- that's external monitor support (I have a 34" 1440p ultra-wide monitor). 1. Default scaling is super minuscule, I had to crank up different system settings to make it bearably acceptable. Alternatively you can chose 720 HDPI setting and everything becomes so huge that external monitor setup looses its worth. On windows side of things you can set any % of scaling without any hustle and everything works like a dream. 2. There is no ext monitor control out of the box. You can't change volume (if there are speakers hooked up through it) or brightness. 3. There is no easy way to transfer apps between screens. You can setup specific short-keys, but it is not as effortless as on Win side.
As Linux users, here's the explanations of the feature comparing with Linux and GNOME or KDE (few): 0:12 - Depends on the app (like Text Editor shows the dot on the titlebar). 0:21 - GNOME Files can do that by installing gnome-sushi. For KDE use tooltips for larger image preview. 0:28 - Animation on GNOME Desktop is pretty smoother although some animations like opening app on GNOME steals the macOS ones. Even it can customize through extensions. KDE is smoother too. 0:47 - Thanks to libadwaita and GTK CSS Theming, the most GNOME Apps have consistent UI elements. Although some older apps still using the older theme, but you can install adw-gtk3 to get libadwaita look for GTK apps for more consistency. KDE seems more consistent with titlebars, and it doesn't have custom headerbars like the GNOME ones. 0:56 - GNOME Files only: You can add more actions on the files context menu by installing some GNOME Files Extensions or creating a nautilus scripts on ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts 1:09 - KDE does that, but on older GNOME by installing the Show Desktop Button Extension or you can create one if you're a developer. 1:26 - on GNOME, it automatically saved to the user Pictures folder. 1:33 - Use F2 key 😎. 1:55 - GTK can do that 2:02 - Size cursor can be changed through the Settings > Accessibility > Seeing > Cursor Size (GNOME 42/43+ only) and even applied to all cursor themes 2:33 - I think that's the floating search. on GNOME by installing an extension called Search Light. ...Don't forget about PowerToys search bar. 2:38 - It's so harder than GNOME Builder quick actions (maybe). 2:53 - Use minimal GNOME Desktop or KDE Plasma Desktop to get smaller memory usage and it depends on the Linux Distros. 3:00 - Use Gesture Improvements extension for GNOME. 3:11 - GNOME Desktop has preinstalled GNOME Core Apps. Again, use minimal GNOME desktop for minimal stuff. 3:24 - Use KDE Connect (for KDE) or GSConnect (for GNOME) for sharing files 3:29, 3:34, 3:40, 3:43 - depends on the hardware Tell me if some explanations are wrong or inaccurate.
The claim is that trackpad gestures are BETTER on macOS. In my arrogant opinion, this is true and the difference has more to do with hardware than software. [My daily driver is an (Intel) MacBook Pro, in part because my workflow is trackpad-centric.]
Some good points but I feel most of it is just preference. The shere power of the Mac and seamlessness of its apps working together is the major selling point. The click enter to rename? Oh please stop.
As a pro windows laptop user I disagree with every fucking points he mentioned in this video.... He is not even in the windows insider channel and don't know most of the windows shortcuts... windows users like me love to use windows using keyboard we rarely even use mouse.... About the space bar to preview feature, it has also been added to windows 11 last month (it could be accessed through Microsoft's own app power Toys)...... Fist use windows properly and then make any comments on it.....
Also Windows's design is horrible everything is pointy and copmplex. macOS design is minimalistic and harmonius and rounded and beautiful. I also think 8GB of Ram in Mac is like 24GB on Windows
you are wrong about the screenshots on windows it instasaves into the pictures folder and into your clipboard you dont have to click 3 times on top of that windows with one click lets you edit the screenshot also the airdrop theres quick share and smart connect that work seamless
To be honest, I think you should try using Windows more. For example, when you mentioned going to the desktop with a hotkey on Windows, you can simply click the bottom right corner of the screen, and it takes you to the desktop. Additionally, while it's true that not many people would change their mouse color, it's still nice to know that you have the option to do so if you want. As for the search bar, I suggest trying the dev channel builds as they keep updating it and adding new features. Furthermore, it only takes about 20 minutes to clean Windows from all the pre-installed bloatware, so I don't think that point is valid. When it comes to comparing speakers, it's not really a Windows-specific feature as it depends on the manufacturer. I highly recommend exploring Windows more deeply and trying the dev or canary channel builds, as they have many cool features.
Getting to desktop and minimizing all windows also works with win+d. I also have a personal question: do u have a nice subreddit or sth similar to recommend for me to explore the dev/canary channel builds?
@@neomancr Carved into the OS and impossible to remove unlike windows. Doesn't matter for most people though, mac users likely are or will be so far into the ecosystem that they actually use all the software apple puts into the system.
Its not really that terrible but it’s forced them to go in a different direction as it has essentially developed into using full screen apps in spaces due to Microsoft’s patent monopoly on window snapping. In other words because they couldn’t safely risk using window snapping, they decided to use more of a tiling window management using full screen applications in desktop spaces. And “Stage manager” is really the logical extension of that philosophy.
@@ghost-user559 What the fuck are you on about? They could have just done window snapping. Every other OS has it. Even Chrome OS has it. Fucking iPadOS has it. The fact that MacOS doesn't even have a Maximize window button is also an issue.
one thing i think windows could also do better, in spaces/mission control you have multiple desktops. On windows you can also make multiple desktops. But the behevior on windows and mac is different when recording (in full screen). on mac, it records the whole om them if you switch. On windows it still records desktop 1 even if you switch to desktop 2. Well technically both could do better if this was just a toggle in the settings.

the notch actually doesn't stick out of the bezel, instead the bezel around the notch was cut out, and when using apps in fullscreen the notch completely dissappears

I will just keep buying used Mac minis hell of a computer for 150 bucks. They just work and they don't get in the way when you are creating art or sound or video... they just work... no driver issues, hardware issues etc.. I don't care about gaming on a pc anymore. just play games on the playstation. much cheaper. windows 7 was the last good windows os. everything after that was disgusting imo. I loved xp and 7.
F2 key on Windows allows for rename. It's also useful in Excel and other office applications.
As a Mac user, I find the Command-key so much more ergonomical than the Ctrl-key to do most of the keyboard shortcuts.
If you press the windows and prtsc button at the same time, it takes a screenshot and the image goes Stright to the screen capture folder in pictures.
Ayee thank you! ❤️
Don't bragg about things you properly don't know about.
you can save your screenshots to any folder you want not just the desktop. click on the options when taking a screenshot
0:39 Mac even has a 'poof' animation😂😂
The animations and fluidity is the biggest difference between the two. macOS is just smoother, and there is no reason for windows to be this bad! Switching between virtual desktops in Windows 11 is so glitchy it sometimes just jumps to the next desktop and right back to the previous one. All because Microsoft does not care.
do you use a 2007 computer ?
Thanks for this video, I learned many tips that I'm going to start using.
Ayee thanks for watching
Solid points!
Cheers!
you see mac is used mostly for editing/rendering videos and online meeting, nothing more.
in the other hand, windows is used by many people that needs a powerful and reliable system.
my brother is an architect, he needs CAD and Geo Gis system architecture, and its just full of Calculation, i have no idea what is what, with a drawing books filled with all his design, guess what, he use Windows Laptop with 4 TB SSD filled with CAD file and data analysis.
sadly in mac, they dont have it.
my father is Army vet and now he work in an office that uses hundreds of windows PC to publish books (mostly manuals) for a company.
my uncle runs a car repair shop, and he use windows to setup the ECU and alot of things like installing android touchscreen dashboard into an old car from 2016 and older car.
what about mac?
i found out my sister use m1 macbook for her study in the college, and what is she doing? drawing, and video editing because she choose arts.
me? i studied Computer Technology because of my dad, he don't want me to be a mechanic, and it turns me to a fkn geeks, but it makes me understand why 78% of the population use Windows.
_Real._
In terms of screenshots I do like the fact that when you take screenshot on windows it automatically saves it to your clipboard.
Mac IS batter than Windows, but you haven't named a single reason.
he has got some crazy reasons lmao🤣
Bruh, if you want to rename the files quickly, just press f2, it's an universal shortcut, works on windows desktop, kde, gnome, etc
Actually you can have some sort of "hot-corner" on Windows. This option is called "Select the far corner corner of the taskbar to show the desktop".
If you enable this, when you'll move your cursor to the bottom-left corner of the screen and you click there, the desktop will be shown, until you press again on it.
You need to click it before it work 🙄
@@lousureta6237 I mentioned that
The problem is "some sort"
You are just a fan boy of mac. Both have their uniqueness
I have seen this dot for years and never knew what it meant until this video. 0:19
Mac is better than windows
iPhone is better than android
Life is better without apple
I use both macbook and windows, I like Windows better, macbooks are very expensive and boring, I play a lot of video games on windows aznd also windows has a lot of apps
The best comparison I've heard is this:
"Mac is like a Tesla, it's lean, it's fast, it's efficient, looks great but it has imperfections here and there that makes you want to pull your hair when it occurs. Windows is like the Hummer EV, does the same thing and more but less efficient and it still has the unnecessary bells and whistles found in the older Hummer that ultimately bogs it down. Powerful but wastes a ton of energy doing the same thing."
I own a G14 with i9 and RTX 3070 alongside a 16" MBP M3 Pro...
...there's something about the Mac that just gets the basics so right so I reach for it 85% of the time. Display, speakers, battery life/efficiency, webcam...
The G14, I only use it for gaming, I appreciate Windows. I love my G14 no doubt but I just cannot bring myself to "love" Windows fully beyond its gaming prowess.
You can press win+print screen on windows to take an insta screenshot and save it. It does not have the custom options like the snipping tool though.
0:58 bro i didn’t knew about remove background for 4 years using mac till today 💀
Windows does also automatically save screenshots in the pictures > screenshots folder
In windows, if the file is not saved yet, it shows a small asterisk at the end of the window name.
So, this feature actually exists on windows as well.
One other thing, Mac OS shows you shortcuts in the menus, so you can easily learn them while discovering the OS, whereas in Windows, well "Bing is your friend"
(Hardware features are not OS linked)
And so does windows

Not as much as he said, but it's true, macs are better optimized to use less ram

3:29 I use AirDrop on the daily when sending myself video files to edit on Mac. It's so much easier.
cursor getting bigger is not just a fidget game, it helps you find your mouse
What do you think about Hackintosh, is this a good idea to use macOS on PC?
Honestly, I have no clue I like both for different reasons. If I didn't care about gaming I would probably go with a Mac, but then again it's because a MacBook is a great laptop. In terms of os, it's really just what you prefer.
@@bogxd If find the best way to use both, because on the right side is Windows which good at gaming and compatibility, but on the left side macOS which has good UI design, and a lot of cool features.

I believed the same thing until I tried a mac. It's so much slower than a gaming pc it's crazy, lots of mouse scroll problems and compatibility problems...
mac best for work, and windows best for gaming, spotlight in mac is verry power full, i use mac 6 mount and i going back to windows, and I conclude like that
Solid conclusion
MacOS is meant to be used for certain things, and Windows is meant to be used for certain things as well. Simple, each OS is meant for different uses, there aren't any specifically best ones.
"Mac" is not an operating system. I love your videos regardless.
He’s referring to MacOS genius
One note on the trackpad issue: one thing you CAN'T do on Mac is completely customise the gestures. In Windows, depending on your laptop model, you can completely customise these gestures to anything you want :D :D
have you heard of bettertouchtool?
On macOS under system preferences -> accessibility -> display -> reduce motion
As Linux users, here's the explanations of the feature comparing with Linux and GNOME or KDE (few):
0:12 - Depends on the app (like Text Editor shows the dot on the titlebar).
0:56 - GNOME Files only: You can add more actions on the files context menu by installing some GNOME Files Extensions or creating a nautilus scripts on ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts
1:09 - KDE does that, but on older GNOME by installing the Show Desktop Button Extension or you can create one if you're a developer.
1:26 - on GNOME, it automatically saved to the user Pictures folder.
1:33 - Use F2 key 😎.
1:55 - GTK can do that
2:02 - Size cursor can be changed through the Settings > Accessibility > Seeing > Cursor Size (GNOME 42/43+ only) and even applied to all cursor themes
2:33 - I think that's the floating search. on GNOME by installing an extension called Search Light. ...Don't forget about PowerToys search bar.
3:24 - Use KDE Connect (for KDE) or GSConnect (for GNOME) for sharing files
3:29, 3:34, 3:40, 3:43 - depends on the hardware
Tell me if some explanations are wrong or inaccurate.
The claim is that trackpad gestures are BETTER on macOS. In my arrogant opinion, this is true and the difference has more to do with hardware than software.
[My daily driver is an (Intel) MacBook Pro, in part because my workflow is trackpad-centric.]
1:31 in fact it saves your screenshots in images > screenshots

Some good points but I feel most of it is just preference. The shere power of the Mac and seamlessness of its apps working together is the major selling point. The click enter to rename? Oh please stop.
I don't have a Mac but I can easily say Mac is better than Windows PC, especially if you are a software developer (not C# developer)
Getting to your desktop on windows is easier than on Mac (Win + D). Heck even the iPad has a shortcut (🌐 + H)
OMG, so many posts comparing two excellent computers. Let everyone decide based on their application needs and personal preferences.
Also Windows's design is horrible everything is pointy and copmplex. macOS design is minimalistic and harmonius and rounded and beautiful. I also think 8GB of Ram in Mac is like 24GB on Windows
I’d much rather open the file by hitting enter than rename it. Which is more common? Renaming or opening? Exactly
Well, I mostly use the spacebar to open files on mac in preview so thats why I its easier than with enter (idk it’s just my preference i guess)
The thumbnail makes me really want the giant Apple logo on the back to be a thing
haha I like the bigger one on the new models too
you are wrong about the screenshots on windows it instasaves into the pictures folder and into your clipboard you dont have to click 3 times on top of that windows with one click lets you edit the screenshot
also the airdrop theres quick share and smart connect that work seamless
I highly recommend exploring Windows more deeply and trying the dev or canary channel builds, as they have many cool features.
both operating systems suck they should copy features from each others.
Getting to desktop and minimizing all windows also works with win+d.
I also have a personal question: do u have a nice subreddit or sth similar to recommend for me to explore the dev/canary channel builds?

I use both and my main complaint with MacOS it's how TERRIBLE the windows management is without third party software!
The fact that MacOS doesn't even have a Maximize window button is also an issue.

windows is more affordable but as a devoted apple user I will never look back. Even tho I am paying off my MacBook
Enter to rename files drives me nuts. It should open the file! I now have to hit Command+O and after decades of Windows, I can't get used to it.

"You can shake the cursor" 💀
one thing i think windows could also do better, in spaces/mission control you have multiple desktops. On windows you can also make multiple desktops. But the behevior on windows and mac is different when recording (in full screen).
on mac, it records the whole om them if you switch. On windows it still records desktop 1 even if you switch to desktop 2. Well technically both could do better if this was just a toggle in the settings.
Mac does not have delete option to delete and cut files from any folder which is really annoying. I hate Mac OS just for that reason.
