The biggest advantage with the GoPro is the ability to do long exposure. I can't do that with an iPhone XS Max. Even the newer models automatically select the exposure. It's wonderful to turn the night into day with a very long exposure. Plus, those ultra wide shots.
Is long exposure a new thing to phones or is it just not something apple has done? I have a sansumg galaxy A14, mid-range and very cheap phone, from like two years ago, but it does have manual exposure selection with the "pro" (more like basic photo controls but okay) setting, but it is hidden in the "more" tab of the photo app, a camera is still better but it gives you more control over how you want the photos to look.

Nicely done. I was in that path. I choose the Canon EOS SL3, and i am glad with it. Go pro complements the camera, its no substitute. You can do magic with stills with a DSLR. Gopro is for action videos.
It also comes down to the actual user needs. Some want 'picture perfect' photography. Other just want to snap a pic with their friends while doing sports, or just going for a hike. Does it take pictures in landscape and portrait depending on how we keep the camera? Excellent point about the shutter button (many camera reviews forget about this point). As for the screen, it would have been nice to mention if it covers 100% of the actual picture. I would also suggest to reduce a little the background music volume
Very well done. sadly, I cannot afford Lightroom. I use a gopro hero10 but it still has fisheye unless in linear. are there any ways i can correct the distortion for free of at least a lot cheaper. This was a very well made video also!
Hey bro , don’t buy a GoPro hero 8 , I bought it thinking I was gonna use it a lot and i don’t. Yeah it has a couple features but my iPhone looks better and I could’ve saved the money and bought a mirror less if I wanted better quality than my phone SAVE UR MONEY. A dslr with a great lens will always outshine a cellphone camera. With that being said, cell phone cameras are getting better and better and if done right, you could trick people into thinking it's the real deal. If you are going to do professional work, i would say get the camera. If you don't take many pictures often or post often on social media, you probably good with a cell phone.
High quality video? Where on youtube is any quality gopro footage, outside of maybe the gopro channel with high amounts of edits. Gopro is so blurry and washed out. The improved version in this videobis still so bad. Not the fault of this channel. Its the gopro. Like looking through a muddy windshield. I have a hero 10 . These things are like 640 x 480 from 25 years ago. Not even close to 1080. Pause in the video and look at the blur and washed out dull colors. Why cant gopro even match a 20 year old cell phone camera??

Under rated youtuber... Many big youtubers will struggle to give this much information in a small video like this.
True now that I think about it it's only a 4min video and there is information that most of them would fit into 30min videos
You forgot to mention that there is also a grid on the gopro, even tho the screen is really small, it can still help with composition.

I use GoPro for photo a lot and it is popular to take it on GoPro in Japan.
We can pictures that other cameras cant take and I love GoPro Color.
