Chuck is not only a fantastic mechanic, he's also a magician.
Indeed, an expert. But is is not cheaper if the expert asks some questions and gives some advice (over the telephone or via e-mail) for a diagnosis of the cause of the problem, instead of loading a complete APU and fly that distance to discover that it was so "simple"?
Curious why those APU’s haven’t been updated so they don’t have to be slid out to start the aircraft.
Joe honestly reminds me of my grandfather who was a multi engine instrument rated pilot himself and the best pilot I’ve ever flown with. He started teaching me when I was 12 on his Cessna 340 then his 414. Later it was the King Air 300 followed by the Citation X. He was hard on me as well . Several Years later I fully understood why. It was that old school I’m not gonna hold your hand and give you constant pats on the back kind of training and I’m very glad that it was done that way.

Instead of packing another APU 4 hours across the country in a DC3, why not have Chuck grab a box of spare parts for the APU and grab the Baron or Travelair for a fraction of the cost. There's just very little common sense at Buffalo.
Pretty crazy the one mechanic couldn’t figure that out it’s not rocket science u got fuel and spark.. also really dumb that they didn’t just get chuck a plane ticket over there before flying a plane over there or why chuck didn’t tell him to check the nozzle before all that messing around.
People tend 2 forget its a show and it needs "stories"...and the stories are hyped up. Nice though
All the problems with Buffalo Airlines stem from those aged aircraft 50 to 75 years old. When are they going to sell them off, take out a loan, and purchase some truly modern equipment? If that is going to fail a cost-to-benefit analysis, then know when to fold.
One has to wonder how Buffalo makes any money. Just about every trip they makes something breaks down. Don't get me wrong, it makes great content but they are so unlucky. But that is the chance you take with old aircraft.
