- Kenya is building Konza Technopolis, a $14.5 billion dollar smart city that Kenya’s hopes will become the Silicon Valley of Africa, known as the SIlicon Savannah. Konza Technopolis is located 64 kilometers southeast of Nairobi, covering 20.2 square kilometers and eventually hosting 185,000 people. It will host a world class postgraduate university and will have a green, pedestrian focused city layout. Konza Technopolis is under construction and its first phase is planned to be completed by 2022. The full megaproject should reach completion in 2030!

Construction has already begun, completion of Phase One is expected for 2022.
Any plans for another video of a skyscraper or a city ?
This is great to see in such a country like this
Wow this is cool! Kenya is already the economic powerhouse of Eastern Africa and this will likely be another step in the right direction.
Nairobi is a great city :)
Tanzania and Ethiopia are also doing major construction projects, bigger than Kenya!!!!!
@@kinterest1562 😄
@@kinterest1562 when you see lapsett then you will faint....Kenya does not like to make a lot of noise
@@eldios831 Nigeria, Tanzania and Ethiopia are already doing bigger projects!
I might also add South Africa. But Kenya's projects are the only ones that have been so inflated!!!
Glad to see that Kenya is now constructing a metropolis, but they got a long way to go !
Kenya is a great role model for other African countries to follow, from what I've seen!
Wow penda kenya inchi yangu mungu ibariki kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪

Wooow! OMg! Great documentary 👍😃
Great project!👍😀
Awesome to see
Nice 👍
Do some videos about Egypt, there are a lot of mega projects out there like the New Capital City and New Cities like New Alamain, New Mansourah and Galala City
And the tallest skyscraper in Africa (Iconic Tower)
And the New electric high-speed train and monorails
I love your content 💕
Hopefully the African nations can redeem themselves. This is a step in the right direction!
with that chinese debt it will be hard
It's a PPP project
What do you mean redeem??? Redeem implies African nations did something wrong.
@@JS-pb6gb no, it means to bring them out of their poverty. To redeem something is to bring it back to it's former glory, or make it better. It doesn't specifically relate to actions that it did.
@@LeveyHere I see what you are saying. I hope I’m alive to see the day when African cities and countries are comparable with other world class cities
I want to wake up one morning and find out that my portfolio is $80,000 . I know it’s possible
This is really depending on your investment curve. Just invest wisely!
Do you know anyone that can help? I’d really appreciate if you can share your broker contact info?

Yeah
Y el impacto ambiental?
I don’t want to be a pessimist but all these proposals where entire new cities are planned never materialize or are a far cry of what was promised. Have programs to boost entrepreneurship and it in existing cities, also rezone have better public transport and improve quality of living to try and bring in the multinationals.
Konza is a bit different from the 'entire new cities' simply because Kenya has a vast number of youth with very inadequate opportunities in ICT, software applications, research in science and tech and engineering. Many of them have nowhere to practice their abilities and knowledge and Konza has just came in time to listen to their call. Infrastructure and Training facilities in the area are also being keenly built by Kenyan govt to boost confidence of capital owners and investors!
the aim here is to intergrate matters to deal with technology.
Well Crap Nother Wakanda This Time In Kenya Frick
"Nother Wakanda"? Is there a first one outside of comic books and movies?
And this is most likely just one of those Chinese projects they use to re-colonize Africa, so it would be the opposite of "a Wakanda".
Wakanda isn’t real
The project is under construction I'm Kenyan u should come to Kenya. Hakuna matata
@@TrangleC Even though many projects are being built by Chinese or what you want to call "recolonize", Sorry to disappoint but Konza doesn't fall under that. It is a very diverse project with many nationals involved!
TrangleC...there is nothing like Chinese here...the project is mostly ppp...and the government is almost done with its part of building horizontal infrastructure.
Righttttttttt
You need God repent of your sins
You know I always get struck on how there is already so much of the planet used for urban areas that even projects like this could add more strain to the environment too. Especially with overpopulation.
Is there a rail/train system at all? It seems very car reliant.
Check out 4:36..
Looks amazing 🤩
