Sue the US government? Yeah, okay, pal. You'd have a better chance of explaining to Saint Peter why you shouldn't go to Hell.
@@DCBiscuit It´s pretty normal to sue a govermment over this kind of stuff...
There's that episode on Last Week Tonight where they covered how some dude in Afghanistan applied and they made his name FNU (First Name Unknown) because the USCIS were too stupid to read the forms over correctly.
@@minimunio1261yeah classicly super easy to sue you just need a handful of dollars to get a lawyer right?
Took my family 15 years for us to get a green card. 20 years for citizenship
20 years in addition to the 15? Or in total.
@@idiomasentusiasticos7954 20 years total. Starting from visas under my dad’s work visa all the way to where we are right now. I’ll be turning 21 soon and I’ll finally have citizenship. Been in this country since I was 1.
Took my family around that long too, and that was with my grandpa being in the US since like the 60s.
@@jcnot9712 yeah that’s insane. I believe during trump there was only 4 agents assigned to every single case in the country
@@estebanbaltierrez5426 nuts. I got here during Obama’s first term. The amount of vaccines and other nonsense they put you through is absurdly time consuming and expensive. Not to mention the fact that if bureaucratic red tape starts to do its thing, you have to pay to renew a lot of those. Absolute nightmare for my parents.
Charlie said it himself in the video, but it blows my mind that ONE dude... ONE dude, not the system, but ONE FRICKEN DUDE is the entire entity stopping them from entering. One dude who can't just take two seconds to look at the damn thing, have some integrity and do his job appropriately.
I don't recall where I read it, but it really is just one guy that overlooks all the evidence that people have a legit reason to come into the country. The system goes through all the documentation to make sure it's legit, just for one clown to decide if he even wants to read it or not.
Worse still, whistleblowers familiar with ICE (border control) report a culture of racism and abuses of power. If that’s the norm for ICE, then I can’t even imagine what kind of “reasons” one case agent can find to reject an immigrant. Name, skin color, place of origin, sexuality, etc.
The unspoken part here is that people are shocked even AUSTRALIANS can’t get a pass here because they’re (presumably) white. Immigration has almost always favored white people. It takes the rejection of a team of “squeaky clean” white people for us to realize immigration is broken.
But that is the system’s problem though. That “one dude” as you said can do this.
@@ATLAS-cy4xi One dude is not the whole system is what I'm getting at. It's one dude. One dude can be replaced (and should be replaced).
@@ignisx3791 when the system is designed so that one dude can fuck up the entire process it is a bad system
@@joelmiller3218 There are many successful systems where one guy has a final say on something. But please, continue with your mental gymnastics.
My friends cousin was "made to leave" the US even though he had all his papers and was a very hardworking man. He retired from the Mexican military and then came here to be really good at his job. Then he was forced back into the place he fled.
I feel so bad. Imagine everything’s going well and then you got evicted because someone’s work attitude sank through the ground.
@@forcexjr1566 you see that's the thing, he was building his own business. He didn't even have a boss to complain about him which means some Karen whom he gave amazing service made a complaint on him.

Charlie's archenemy: US Immigration
I don’t wanna get political but this is exactly why people come here illegally. Overwhelming majority that are coming from Mexico aren’t harmful and seeking asylum but it will take 5-12 years to come legally and that just shouldn’t and can’t cut it.
Hundreds of thousands are coming through the border “seeking asylum” even though how asylum works is that you go to the first country that you cross. But they go through all those nations.
That’s what Stay In Mexico was. They had to apply for political asylum in every country they pass through.
This is a UA-cam comment, so I am not even going to discuss the human and drug trafficking happening at the border, nor the gang members that ARE coming through along with the crowds.
@@isexuallyidentifyasanapach4720 did you know per capita (if you even know what that means) those that come illegally are significantly less likely to do crime that born and raised US citizens? And you can see asylum without needing to do all that shit. Just say you are racist man. It’s fine we all know it.
@@isexuallyidentifyasanapach4720 the funny thing is that the important gang members come in legally.
@@dominicfranzen7932 Actually 😮😮??

Oh, for sure. They have the money to bribe and pay off anyone that actually has say. And a border agent isn't going to stop the Cartel from pulling people in and out because the Cartel practically run the border. Hell, there are hundreds of videos of the Cartel running the stop-and-search on the Mexican side of the border just far enough out of range for the American side to have any jurisdiction. Them getting citizenship is a different situation but it has been known to happen because, again, they can pay off or threaten whoever they want.
I really hope he does sue. Positive change doesn't come until the issue hits the courts.
My stance is, if you're anti-illegal immigration, you should also realize and fix any problem you see in the current immigration system, you know, to ensure that legal immigration is a possibility and reduce the illegal one?? Sadly politics right now kinda ruin a lot of discussion regarding these, with nutjobs more focused on abstract concepts like the morality of borders, rather than fixing the current problem.
The thing is though that stopping illegal immigration has to happen before legal immigration can be made easier. After all, so many already enter the nation that it's causing major problems, if you add an extra stream of legal immigration on top of that the problems just become even worse. As long as that problem doesn't get solved, legal immigration has to stay extremely difficult and nitpicky.
Only once any solutions are in place to curb illegal immigration, can they take a look at what the new immigration numbers are and then decide based on that how much easier legal immigration can be made. And heck, it'd probably have to take a couple of years to first settle down from these years of insanely high numbers.
@@_Vengeance_ The problem is say if Democrats agree to get really tough on illegal immigration: What guarantee will we have that Republicans will then reform legal immigration so that more people will come in? There's a lot of Republicans who don't want a lot of legal immigration. They want to drastically reduce the amount of people who can legally come into the country every year. Thus, there's a very real fear that Republicans will go back on their word and permanently stop any sort of immigration. So reforms to our immigration system to make things easier has to come at the same time as stopping illegal immigration. Republicans aren't willing to do that so Democrats aren't willing to approve the funding for securing the border.
Finally, someone who understands the legal process of it all. But its sad to see that they only know about the issue is because its presonally effecting them, and not just learn about it beforehand.😞
Most people don’t learn about things until it affects them. There’s too many shitty things in the world to be aware of all of them
@@estebanbaltierrez5426 Yeah. I've always thought of this.
I would tell people "Try to care about the child that's certainly facing termoil or death right now." You can't until you're actually aware of the situation.
Most americans aren't immigrants. Most will never be immigrants to their own country... It's why we have such ignorance over such a thing. And we also have political ideologues who are actively hurting eachother and the citizens in an attempt to gain authority over others.

Honestly a lawsuit is a bit risky cause they could counter sue and that would be bad I won’t stop you but be sure your case is very convincing and don’t lose

Immigration has always been shit, every methods involving in being able to get into the US is very strict, even though there are many ways to get citizenships, permits, passports, but the reality is its never that easy, my parents are working on a form and its been taking more than a year to get a American passport. All of this requires time, and if you cant or don't have the needs to get into the US then you're fucked.

@@daniel_galloway I understand why people want to come to America. There are plenty of other places to go if you’re fleeing. Having the opinion that we should actual enforce border policy and keep people out is valid. I understand it could take years to get in legally. That is the price. You don’t get to just waltz right in because you feel you have the right. Why can’t these people go somewhere else? Are you telling me there isn’t a single country south of the US border that could help? They send them all here for a reason because they do not want to deal with it either. Why can’t they step up and help out? A lot of this has to do with cartels too, the whole thing is corrupt. So I guess I want a very thought strict border in response to these things and you look at it and go “fuck it I guess we should just let as many people in as show up and walk across the border with out knowing who these people are or where they came from”
