Everyone's talking about the footage, but they don't know how lucky you are to have that training pilot, who probably wishes to remain nameless! But that first comment, "What ya gonna do with that?" Should be trademarked! I've heard that many times from him. haha! It's odd how unpowered flight, in a controlled environment, is so much fun. But that also comes back to the guy in the left seat!
Can't believe you could do that without having a heart attack, I almost had one sitting on my couch watching the tail boom coming sooo close while simulation auto rotation. Good job.
Amazing footage, highly entertaining to watch!! Being at the private level, I am stunned how zero forward speed autos are doable in the A-Star, phantastic skills 👌. Subscribed immediately, looking out for more videos like this one!
Those were some nice aggressive looking flares. The lack of wind wasn't doing you any favours. Nice work! I was ski touring up in Boom Lake 2 weeks ago (Dec 2nd I think) and saw an orange AStar fly over. I wonder if that was you?
Yep the low winds definitely make the flare a bit more aggressive. That would have been me, I did that flight across in the 2nd! Small world, too funny!
@@EricPJohnstone more than somewhat.... i enjoy someone taking the time to educate the general public on just what's involved in flying a helicopter... please keep it up!! 👍👍
Damn, that auto at 8:35 is crazy! Can see your headset cables float for a second in zero G. Those steep banks with the engine out seem pretty wild to a fixed wing guy like me. Any reason why you didn't continue to your 1 o'clock and land with just the minor heading change? Seemed like nil wind also?

He who shall not be named is definitely a great guy to have in the left seat
How is it possible that this channel doesn't have over 100K subscribers. Thanks for another great video and awesome flying.
Thanks for the support! Hopefully we'll get there one day!
was wondering the same
First time I've seen the channel pop up but this one earned Sub #522 from me.
The best video I have seen about autorotations! Fanstastic footage! I loved the flares and the buttersmooth landings!

Thanks, so happy to have gotten the exterior footage
These videos are incredible, butter auto's, living the dream!
Last auto was the best, perfect level attitude on touch-down. On the others you landed on the heels of the skids.
Saving the best for last! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the heads up on STRLGHT. Nice flying too ;)
That was awesome auto rotation.
I will give 10/10 for that!!!! 👍

Thank you! Cheers!
I make it really for a problem in the Hidraulic sistem when I was flying as crew member on Seaking. It was terrible!
That wouldnt be a good time in the Seaking..
I love the color of that Astar. Also, Autos at 10,000 ft?!?!
We call it McLaren butterscotch around here! No, the autos we're done at the airport around 1,400'. Just signing off from 10 grand.
I’d looooove to see the outside footage from 8:47. Must be awesome!
Btw, Loved the video
Cheers! I’ll be posting all the raw footage soon
@@EricPJohnstone oh, nice!!!
Hi, what training did you follow to get started? what is the cost of this one?
Sincerely
I did my flight training with a flight school and at the time it cost around $60000
@@EricPJohnstone Thanks for thé information, i Hope to go asap to work in switzerland to make a Good money and to Dave it to do like you bro 😉
How long have you been flying? I just finished my PPL and flying an AS350 is the dream :p
8 years now. The AStar is definitely a phenomenal machine to fly. The 206 has a pretty strong grip on my heart though!
Is having more rotor-blades better or worse for auto rotation performance?
More blades, less autorotation performance. Less blade inertia
❄️🙌🏼
Why can’t it be put indoors?
Pitted!
Soooooo deep in the pit
i like your video but the music is too loud.
Thanks for the feedback good to know
