  • What did Yoda think of Anakin killing Count Dooku?
    And Yoda actually made up his mind about his feelings for Dooku before episode 3!
    You see, in legends months before the Battle of Coruscant, Dooku reached out to Yoda asking him to meet him to talk about him leaving the Sith.
    And Yoda was suspicious of this call for help but still had a soft spot for his former apprentice and agreed to meet him.
    And when he met up with Dooku, he was surprised at first at how calm he was and willing to talk.
    But it was obvious that Dooku didn’t want to rejoin the Jedi but to try and turn Yoda over to the dark side.
    Of course Yoda rejected this offer but he tried one more time asking Dooku to come back to the lightside and that he would forgive him for the damage he had done.
    But Anakin and Obi Wan appeared around the corner who tracked Yoda in fear he was in danger!
    And after seeing them, Dooku attacked his former master and in that moment, Yoda knew that there was no chance in bringing him back to the light.
    So, when he heard that Dooku was killed, he didn’t even mourn for him as he already felt that he died months before!

      He would then become a dentist who detested candy, especially lollipops and chocolate.
      After that, he left Earth and went to Middle Earth where he changed his name Saruman the White. Records are unclear what happened to him after that. Some say that he slipped off a giant black metal tower after an angry intern whom he just slapped gave him his resignation, others say he failed at conquering a community of tiny halflings otherwise known as hobbits.

    This doesn’t line up with the movie. Dooku was surprised Grandmaster Yoda was there. When I was a kid I watched this released in the theater. There was a definite feeling of desperation on the part of the audience knowing that Obi Wan and Anakin had both been taken out, and Dooku seemed to be getting away with having massacred so many of the Jedi at the arena, all without him being revealed. When Grandmaster Yoda walked in, the feeling in the theater changed immediately from one of panic and dread to extreme hope and excitement. Suddenly we knew it was all okay because now, the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, the Grandmaster himself had arrived… in person… for the first time… to personally intervene, and he did NOT disappoint! When Yoda activated that lightsaber and began flipping around the room at 900 years old with the agility and mastery that no human could EVER exhibit, he had Dooku fighting for his life within seconds, and Dooku was one of the finest saber duelists in the galaxy, it was the most electric moment, for me, in the entire saga.

    1. It's interesting that Yoda did not mourn for dooku, yet obi wan knowing the full dangers of Aniken since he started training him, still could not have the heart to destroy him.
    2. Why the Jedi council did not interrogate Aniken after he killed Dooku as it was not the Jedi way. Yoda in particular should have questioned him after he knew of Anakin's great pain after the death of his mother and "slaughtered them all" of the Tusken Raiders that held her captive.

This is not something George wrote so you’re not supposed to take it with the same understanding as his movies. It’s not a plothole that they didn’t ask Anakin about it. If you want to see it that way ig sure? George was both nice and smart enough to license the IP to authors to write novels and comics with the characters and world he originally created. This actually allowed Lucasfilm to have multiple revenue streams not just movie ticket sales. It allowed them to not sellout and make a crap movie for just money. George made the movies he wanted to for better or worse. But as a result people mistakenly thought that meant these fit into the stories he personally was involved with. People need to stop using non-canon events as evidence to back of their claims, and or explanations. Legends isn’t canon unless Disney says it is whether you like it or not. Disney has been working to bring some of the legends continuity into Canaan, but anything that they haven’t yet gotten around to Isn’t and won’t ever be until they do get around to bringing it in. Your personal opinion is that alone. No matter what you choose to believe what is and isn’t canon is decided upon by the IP owner. So unless ownership of the IP changes hands we go based on what the current IP owner says, even if we aren’t happy with it. People are way too entitled these days.

      I agree with you but I go a step further. The term canon is relevant in that sense but from George’s own mouth: his story is his movies and the clone wars. That’s it. It’s not all this other stuff whether it’s considered canon or not. That’s the intention, that’s the most consistent version of events and characterization, and even people miss that EU was going to be decanonized by George anyway so people have to grow up all the way around

    The questions I have for you today is. 1: how come he was called Count Dooku, never noted as a Sith Lord?
    2: why doesn't Count Dooku have the yellow/reddish eyes of a sith?
    And one question about Yoda.
    Is Yoda the only Jedi that can deflect or absorb electricity with his hands?
    I've seen other Jedi do this but with their saber's.

      1. You actually hear them call him Tyrannus in (I think) either the clone wars or episode II when they're talking about the clones
      2: He was usually calm AF, and they have to entirely tap in to the dark side to get the Sith eyes
      3. No. You can actually see Luke do this for another the first 4-6 bolts that Palpatine shoots at him in Episode VI.

      Idc what is canon. I care what George says on the topic. And George’s consistent story as he says is his movies and TCW: the projects he was personally involved in. Everything else is nice to have but doesn’t fit in with what he created. There are contradictions even with the Matthew Stover books.
      George never used the term canon he’s not a nerd he’s a filmmaker he just considered his projects the story. So no: legends is not “canon,” neither are the “canon” books and comics, neither is Disney

    • @vintifada7115
      @vintifada7115 Місяць тому

      Not quite. George Lucas writes and shows him suffering very much as his fellow Jedi are taken out in Order 66. He’s practically physically hurt; drops his staff, stumbles….but he goes through the stages of grief quickly. You can’t take him out of context like that. This story in this short is legends also you can’t take its word over George’s about Yoda’s characterization or proper Jedi understandings of balance and mourning

    • @JasonSmith-eu4ng
      @JasonSmith-eu4ng Місяць тому

      @@vintifada7115 you’re right he is kinda a green little hypocrite isn’t he, after giving this don’t mourn the dead miss them not and so on. I guess it’s situational with him. When qui gon died he was worried about weather or not they killed the master sith or the apprentice while shedding no tears for Qui Gon. I guess if someone calls him out on it he is like who is yoda you or me? Oh me yeah then shut the hell up and let me yoda this stuff.

    • @vintifada7115
      @vintifada7115 Місяць тому

      @@JasonSmith-eu4ng
      Bro what’s your problem??
      He’s not hypocritical. I didn’t say he mourns I said it hurt him so therefore he doesn’t view death as a good thing. Mourning/missing are not the same thing as the stages of grief. So Yoda is allowed to talk about the sith at the funeral; he’d already processed Qui Gon’s death as the wisest oldest monk. This is the point: the Jedi around Anakin basically apply the lessons properly even if they stumble. So you want to find an inconsistency somewhere? It’s possible that was a mistake for that Jedi. There was no claim that Jedi are perfect or gods. There’s no need to hyper focus on it. Jedi can stumble it’s to move past it and learn from it that is the lesson. Other Jedi are characters who have their journey through these problems off-screen whereas the focus for the saga is on Anakin and his inability to do so. The Jedi that don’t fall to the dark side have gone through their needed Jedi development or they will in the future.
      What George has always said is that throughout Anakin’s life he always had a choice. His destiny was never sealed through some duel, it was never lost entirely, he just always made the wrong decisions. So if you can stumble from grace and selflessness that Jedi value and still return to the will of the force we can conclude other Jedi have done the same. They made the right decisions eventually, not that they made EVERY right decision. And that’s not what hypocrisy is. So you’re wrong about Yoda but even if you think you see Yoda or another Jedi failing to live up to his own standards that’s not what hypocrisy means anyway
