My black virgo is translucent also. Same issue with high e ringing behind the nut. Using a fret wrap for now, but will need a string tree or another method to increase the downward angle. The setup tips without special tools are great. Just used the feeler guage nut file method to fix a firefly guitar with very high nut slots. Nice nut files would have cost as much as the guitar.

I used to file the bottom of slots exclusively and eventually bought Music Nomad but files, they work great and are easy to use.
