For me it's just naive to believe that Apple has got noble goals and motifs. Company selling overpriced products with very, very average specifications, designed in a way that forces the client to buy only original and again overpriced accessories - yeah, that's very innovative. And where's the challenge in that? Apart of course of persuading people that their products are the best... Interesting speech but examples not very convincing.
They don't buy the why... They buy the What... I could care less if my laundry detergent wants to save the seals... If it's the best laundry detergent for the $$$ then I buy it. Simple. People buy iPhone for user comparability across products.
It's not original now, because this is what has been taught by schools, business coaches and podcasters for the last decade, but this is a 10 year old TED Talk and this idea wasn't as saturated into the market place of ideas as it is today.
