As always, great project and well executed. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, NICE looking table.
Thanks, Jon -- very clear instructions !
Jon this is a awesome tutorial for a really nice piece of furniture.
Nice and simple. Thanks for sharing
Simply beautiful
This is exactly what I've been looking for, thanks. I'm moving my mom in with us after losing my dad a couple of months ago and was needing a night stand. Thinks I'll add a drawer also. Great vid
Nice job Jon! 👍
Love the simple design, turned out Great Jon
Nice project John you baited us for the next one well done👍
Looks great, man! I love how you make a simple project like a night stand look so elegant.
Instablaster.
Well done video, Jon.
Really like the proportions of the design. Another great video John
Hi John. Thank you for this video and the plans. I made one and I think it looks just like yours! Chris
Thanks Chris I’m glad to hear it 👍
Bravo ! Super beau travail !
great job!!
Great video, very nice project.
Kia ora from Aotearoa (New Zealand) hi Jon, thank you for sharing this simple project. I have been looking for something like this to put my lamp & & books on. I look forward to seeing more from you again & happy to be another subscriber for you 🥰
Definitely an easy project for anyone.
Such a tease! Ha ha. Great video, Jon! I always like seeing your process.
good job.
Muito bonito ! Abraço aqui do brasil
As always, it looks great Jon! I like the single taper leg look on this one. Look forward to seeing the paint job and finished project!
Always enjoy your cabinet making process, Jon. I recently used your techniques on some book shelves. The poplar face frame worked extremely well. My pencils never look as sharp as yours, though :-)
What happened to the plutonium paint job part II of this video?
Lovely just lovely can u show us how to build a hifi cabinet One self ?
What kind of pocket hole jig are you using? It looks awesome!
A hydraulic pocket hole jig? That’s pretty cool
What a great little project! I'm diggin that pocket hole jig? Who makes it?
Jon I see your video all the time and you do a amazing job on the work you do. Make me want to build something every time. Question what kind of wood would you used to make kitchen cabinets. Thank you for you time. Keep up those awesome videos.
Thanks! For painted cabinets I would use poplar wood and birch plywood. I have a video on my channel on building a kitchen pantry it should help.
The extraction on your chop saw looks good Jon. I have a Bosch and have struggled with the dust for as long as I've had it, no matter what i try. Any chance of a better look?
Hey Jon looks great so far! Prior to applying the primer, do you sand the edge banding too? Look forward to the plutonium!
akmozar
I didn’t see a single spec of sawdust on your table saw.. I look at mine and get dust in my eyes! That new dust collection must be working pretty well!
Hi all, This is a fun project that you can finish in a day. I made this one for my daughter. If you want to build this table there are free plans on my site. jonpeters.com/bedside-table-design-plans/
Can I ask what brand and model your table saw is?
Could you share the plans to do it?
Is it bad that I kind of expected it to be made of Purple Heart, since it was gonna be painted?
PS- that shows how long I've been subscribed....nice build.
Jon.... the project is beautiful. I have two questions-- the first, I watched as you used a single clamp the installed your pocket screws. When I've tried that, even after firmly clamping the piece, my entire project take a spin. The glue spattering in one direction with the wood and project in the other. I find I must use 2 or even 3 clamps and I am grateful if things go smoothly. My second question is why do you prime the project first? Most paints come with a paint-n-primer in one. What does the latex primer get you over using a pre-stain product? Does the latex primer minimize the plywood grain bleeding through the paint? Thanks...
If you notice, he clamped to the table and the project piece, but he's also got a piece of plywood lying at the back of the project AND the table top has some grip. I find it good to clamp a scrap piece in the direction the driver spins so the project won't move.
Where's part 2 ?
Jon, when you say Birch plywood do you mean Baltic Birch or Russian White Birch plywood or something specifically we have to ask for? I went to the local hardware store here in Los Angeles and they asked me what I meant by Birch plywood and was it for cnc work? Hope you can help me find exactly what type you are using here. Thank you so much for making these videos!
Wow i would really like to get my hands on one of those old style kreg jigs. Any chance you know of a part number or something? Cant find anything.
yes
What product do you use to fill the nail holes? I have tried a few different products and they all seem to shrink and show.
He's uses drywall joint compound usually and probably used it for this one too. I'd be interested in Jon confirming this.
Hi Jon,
2 questions if you don't mind
1) May I ask how you got the ariel intro and outro shot of you shop
2) I noticed you don't use a riving knife--does that worry you or cause you any concern
GREAT video as always
Thanks
tim
1) drone, very easy to do
How to make a shaker style end table with 1 drawer and a door below the drawer?
How many times has one made a project with flush perfect fit inset doors in their shop, only for the perfect fit to vanish once you bring that long hard project inside your home? Gaps become uneven or bigger, fit starts to vanish. Is this why I see more n more finish ply being used to build projects, or mdf?
properly dried wood as an answer? just a suggestion, although yeargh, it depends from a style. If i want to PAINT it, why use expensive wood?
Quick Question! What bit did you use to cut that rabbit??
Rabbeting bit.
nice b8 m8
How many pounds can its hold?
As good of a woodworker as you are, why the pocket holes
Why Burch and not pine or popular wood?
What happened to the back of the cabinet?
Still no part 2
What do u use instead if u do not own a nailgun
Chris Edwards hammer and nails obviously
Sam Rakkaus would the nail sit to proud compared to the nail gun aesthetic looking
Chris Edwards use a nail set, a small pin-type punch to set the nail head below the wood surface. Available at most hardware and big box stores.
Use a finish nail and set below the surface with a nail setter.
What about part two??
Ha ha :) yeah sorry still working on it but it’s coming soon, I promise.
Jon Peters Art & Home btw enjoying the channel..
