Lakai Cambridges are so underated. Vulcanized feel, but they have more heel cushioning than my Telfords and es Accels while having WAY more feel in the toe area than anything I've tried in decades. The soles flex like crazy around the toes. you can fold the shoe like a taco from pinky toe to big toe.

I literally just got a pair of cambridges yesterday. This sounds very promising. They feel similar, allthough a bit stiffer, than my Adidas busenitz vulc 2’s did at first. Breaking them in a bit should fix that though. I’m excited to skate them and see what they’re like!

Back in 2007-2009 everyone rocked either Nike or Lakai. No other shoe could match up, especially when Fully Flared came out. Sadly over the last decade Lakai have faded in popularity in favour of all the Nike/Adidas/NB shoes plus budget cuts BUT
I was in central America for 3 months this year. Lakai are SO popular there. Even people who don't skate wear them, because they look good, are affordable and comfortable. Plus they sell them in so many sneaker stores there. I was so surprised to see the popularity of Lakai, at the skatepark most people wore them. Was very refreshing to see

NB the only non core brand that are any good. They have several good models. If Jamie Foy’s model had a little thicker or tougher tread, they would be the best skate shoe of all time. The tread wears out faster than anything on the shoe and faster than any other shoe I’ve skated. Otherwise, it’s a perfect shoe.

the board feel of the Telfords is so good - So much better feel than es Accels, but not as good as the Lakai Cambridge which are my favorites by far.

I'm not sure boardfeel is the problem with the Es Accels. But I did notice I like the pointier toe area on the Es Accel OG a lot more than what you get on an Es Accel Slim. Nice Video! Thank you! I skated all three models (SB Dunk, Force 58 and Telford) in the last years. For me all three are quite similar. (; I am an SB dunk lover for 17 years and its my favourite shoe since i started skateboarding 25 years ago. The current situation with the stupid raffle system and limited stock is sooo stupid. That was the reason to give the Force 58 (black white) a try because i got them for only 50 euros in sale which is a really good deal. The board control and grip out of the box is insane. I never had a shoe which skates so well without breaking in. Also the look and sole are really nice. The do not last that long but i enjoy every single second skating them. If you look for a cheap sb dunk alternative you cant go wrong with them. Here in the austrian/german area i see that the sb dunk hype is drying out. Nearly every release this year wasnt that high and thats the proof that the not every random sb dunk resells well. (; Good for us skateboarders! I skated the telford 15 years ago in the lakers colourway and they were skating really well. Lakai was the shit back in the days and nike sb was exotic. Nike SB should release some basic colourways on stock for us skaters. The greedy hypebeasts should eat shit stealing us our skateshoes!

I’m going to jump on my soap box!
When are we as skaters going to wake up to how much buying power we have? We need to get away from the skate shop killer brands like Nike? I get it, shoes are cool and you get “hella play” from the ladies, but there is something more important than making a statement with the shoes you wear. (That won’t last a month if you actually skate in them) Nike is big corporate trying to make money off of us, and only supporting skateboarding just enough to seem legit. I’d like to see more Pros make statements rather then just taking the biggest check. Im sure it’s hard for someone to see all the $$$$ and not sign on the dotted line but we need more from out pros, we need pros with ethics.

What do local skate shops do exactly? They never have sales like vans, charge full price for many things, and I rarely see a skate shop do anything for the community at least on their ig. Vans has built multiple skateparks and has great shoe deals. If it’s to support local business then I understand, but I feel like Nike and vans I feel have contributed a lot to the skate scene in socal

I haven't tried Telford Lows Return because my local skateshops still don't carry them in my country.
But I tried the Telford High Return and it has a very narrow fit around the toe area, making it even impossible to fit for some people. One of them being me.
In all of my years as a Nike SB collector, I have never had any issues with any of them.
So the Telford Reissues being a substitute for SB Dunks is far from the truth.

Given how expensive the Nike SB Dunk can get and how quickly they are sold due to asshole influencers and worthless rappers wear them, it's safe to go with an alternative to the Dunk. I myself swear by the eS Accel OG for it's timeless look and feel along with that unbeatable price point and readily availability it has.

disagree with the quality of materials compared to nikes. the suede is quite thinner and the leather is kinda stiff. the suede ripped a hole pretty easily with my pair of telfords where I ollie. they're not a bad shoe, actually a decent alternative to the dunks. but the telfords are quite average in performance in my opinion

That could be I haven't skated dunks in years like i mentioned but visually I think the leather itself looked on par with corporate shoe companies however the construction of the dunk is on another level.

I tried these for a few sessions, but unfortunately these just didn’t work with my feet. I’ve probably been spoiled by Etnies Maranas too long but the impact protection was minimal and the shoes were too narrow for my feet. The feel on them was great and I had the same sentiment about the flick on them. Took a while to get used to it.

Rather skate dunks, but white Nike is doing with them is absolutely bullshit. Absolutely no reason they shouldn't be the same price as the blazer mids. It's fucked to pretend you back skateboarding but you've got to pay a months rent or bei sponsored by them to not only get dunks but not feel guilty about skating them. Hell even even if you do have the money, most colorways are limited editions. and aside from the fact that they need to be cheaper, they need to have anywhere from half a dozen to a dozen colorways you can always get
