  • Pumpkin/Punkin Hollow Rd, it is Pumpkin in Menifee county/Frenchburg where we start today and Punkin in Powell county/Slade. I previously rated this a 2 out of 10 back in September but it had been really dry for a couple of months, we've had rain since and it is a little harder. This day and in this direction its about a 2.5 for me and the stock JKU behind me it's probably a 4-ish, He banged his skidplate a couple of times. Any 4wd with a little bit of clearance can do this trail, in a organized group with help most stock 4wds can do it.

    Nice video. We love this and the other DBBB trails. Just wished we lived closer.

      I'm in the area quite a bit, let me know when and I may be able to accompany you. Changing conditions can make it challenging.

    Thanks for the video. I ran this trail the same direction (N to S) today and it was quite dry due to lack of recent rain. However it is seriously rutted out. I am in a LC200 with 33.2 inch tires, full skids, sliders and a high clearance rear bumper and I dragged a lot. I was fully loaded with 5 people and gear so that hurt too. Sliders are not necessary but I would be cautious on this trail with 33s or smaller without skids. First half I would rate 6.5/10 second half about a 2/10 because it is bone dry. If you run 35s it would be super easy.

      Thanks for the comments. As you noticed I try to mention the caveat the what you are driving and conditions may well be the difference between what someone else rates it and your 6.5. I have 33's, 3.25 inch lift but in a short wheel base Jeep TJ which allows me to get by, the details of my rig should be in the comments. I just did this again recently as a UA-cam Follower ride, you may be interested to see that one too, I think for me it is a 4-5. I have noticed that the North side has gotten appreciably harder since I started riding these trails 2 years ago. We were on Spaas Creek this afternoon today too!

      @naturesglorycabin3792 You do a great job letting people know that they should be cautious and that trail conditions change. It really is surprising how these trails can change. Fixer Leeco is very easy for our built rigs but even that trail is developing some spots that could be problematic for stock rigs. I have not run Spaas since last October how is it these days? I like running it when it's been dry like it is right although never quitr dries out!

      Spaas is about the same it hasn't changed much, creek is drier but mud holes must e fed by springs as they are still mostly the same, 3? I've seen many stock 4x4's do Spaas.

    This is great. I have a stock TRD Off-road and have never gone off-roading before. I live in the area (KY), would you recommend this for a first timer? If not, where would you recommend in this area for someone's first trail? I'll have a friend with me either way. He has done some but is still a beginner

      The best for a first timer to get your feet wet so to speak is something easy and go from there. Cavefork/BaldRock/New Virginia loop is an easy 2-2.5 ride with lots of water crossings. Pumpkin Hollow is about a 3+and depending on weather can be harder. I am in the area a couple of time a month and if you are interested I could take you on something like I suggested. Follow our FaceBook page of the same name (naturesglorycabin) to find out when I'll be there. Right now I plan to be there on Saturdays 10/14 and 21. Thanks!

    What’s a good trail loop for 2-4 rating, in a Jeep tj with 2” in lift and 33s no lockers

      What trails have you done and is you experience level? Fixer-Leeco is about a 3, Cave Fork/New Virginia/Bald Rock is about a 2/2.5. Spaas creek is about a 3, Johnson branch a 2/2.5, Clifton Rd about a 3/3.5 These are the easiest I'm aware of. If you want to go along with us follow our Facebook page where we announce when we're in the area and available to ride. Facebook page is same name as this UA-cam channel. All of my ratings are subjective based on your rig and experience level. Some may think they are easier or harder based on that. Thanks!

    Would a stock black diamond bronco make it?

    • @naturesglorycabin3792
      @naturesglorycabin3792  Рік тому +1

      Maybe, but if you are running the stock LT265/70R17 tires (31.6") I would not try it alone. I have seen stock or near stock make it but I'd never try a trail alone the first time. I have also seen vehicles with larger tires need to be pulled out of spots on this trail. There are organized rides that gather into easy/medium & hard groups. I'd probably sign up for one of them first. They fill up fast, ones that come to mind are the Back the byway events (ridethedbbb.org) spring & fall. Fall ride is this week Thu-Sat. Saturday is the organized ride day. I don't know of availability. There is a meetandgreetride.com in early November, again I don't know of availability. If you follow our Facebook page facebook.com/people/Natures-Glory-Cabin/100074791033071/ I try to post what I know as soon as I can.
