Kurtis Blow is an incredibly gracious and humble man considering he is literally one of THE Undisputed OGs of Hip Hop.
Being the 1st rapper signed to major label , nigga mustve had the worst deal known to mankind.

There is nothing wrong with talkin about sex, jewelry, and the streets but its HOW AND HOW FREQUENTLY an artist discusses those topics! 90s artists knew how to discuss OTHER TOPICS unlike these new skool clowns!!
A solid 90s hip hop album gave you a COMPLETE MEAL! A solid artist back then gave you party tracks, gangsta tracks, soulful tracks, social commentary tracks, etc
These new artists for the most part lack that SUBSTANCE!!! And even sadder is seeing some of the OGs DUMB DOWN and LOSE that substance they once had in the 90s! I understand that artists gotta keep working and gotta eat, but damn it sucks!!

But I do love hearing someone tell me their story and through words describe that ghetto they came from and the moments they will ways remember, good and bad. Vince Stapples is one good example but obviously there are bigger names out there. I do love silly songs too. Tyler The Creator like to create ridiculous songs and fun ones too. Funny guy. I don't think people understand how "young" hip hop is. We still have many of the originators of our culture still living.Of course hip hop may not be what it used to be but we must understand that the culture is going to evolve. We will go through good points and bad points. I love the culture.

Makes me proud to be from the Bronx! You didn't have to go far, because hip-hop & rap music was everywhere. Parks, schools, community centers, public transportation, clubs etc. you couldn't escape it if you wanted to.

I saw Kurtis Blow Live back in 82,83 @Hempstead Long Island ,New York. The theater was not so full..but he came out and still gave the show with all his being. Chuck D. and Spectrum the DJ mobile act that gave us the great Chuck D. before PE. Respect to Kurtis for giving his best although it was not a huge turnout.

I'm always saying that there should be a type of "Hip-Hop Council" to kinda oversee and share their knowledge to help preserve the culture. They wouldn't make the rules for the culture but just more like wise men. Other genres like Country & Rock music have it, why can't we?

Kurtis blow is so humble I seen him do lots of shows growing up in ny when hip hop first started he’s a icon and we are so fortunate to still have artist like kurtis blow still around till this day love u kurt
