- The Larch boards have arrived for my cabin. Ant spent a few days making my cabin look absolutely amazing! It was transformed from an ordinary looking building into the most beautiful little place. I use it everyday at first light, I take a cuppa down there and listen to the birds and do a bit of crochet. It's hard to think of a good enough reason to leave!
I am grateful to Anthony White for his cheerfulness, creativity and hard work. I did almost nothing! Ha ha! His brand new channel is called Anthony White or Ants Country Life - you'll find it either way and he's on instagram too.
So am I - kateatthelasthomelyhouse is where you'll find me.
On my other channel - The Last Homely House - next Sunday I will be posting all about my trip to Norway. So much happening here as the season turns to lighter days and a little bit warmer too!

That is a proper cabin, Kate! Lovely! It was so relaxing to just watch Ant put the cladding on, though it probably wasn’t so relaxing for him. What a wonderful job he did! A man of many talents, obviously! I will look for his channel, as well.
I am intrigued by the way the cabin now has such an authentic look now. I also learned a new word: cladding. (Daphne in rainy Southern California)
At the end, Eileen comes over to inspect the work. “Hey. That board wasn’t there before.” Good job, Ant and Kate.
Truthfully, I watch to see Eileen. Glad to see she's so happy. Maybe add a few minutes of her swimming at the end of each video for her fans and the others can click off if they're not interested, but watching her swim with some nice relaxing music would be heaven. 💖🌞🌵😷
It’s like piecing a quilt, repetitive and dependent on good measurements but with heavier materials, with cold and splinters!😂

It's beautiful! I wish I had a little place like this. I would move my sewing and knitting, one project at a time. Of course, like you, one project of sewing, knitting, crochet.😊❤ It's so peaceful. It may get a bit warm in the summer where I'm from, but there are 3 other seasons that are very pleasant. I'm from the Midwest in the U.S. We get 110° days in the summer with tornadoes, and we get -25° or more with blizzards in the winter. It's lovely Kate! ❤😊 Where I'm from, it's called a "she shed". I like cabin better.

Wow Kate, when you and Ant first started laying out that pond liner I thought you'd both lost your minds, and couldn't imagine where you were going with this new idea.......and what a fabulous result you've created!!! All the mud seemed too overwhelming and I was sure the walkway would sink and be lost, but it looks absolutely amazing and solid as a rock. What vision you both have!

We all need an outdoor space for our creative selves. On my little farm here in NY state, I've built a shed with a floor. I'm a freelance writer, and often take my writing out there. My horse visits, the chickens are busy, and my dogs get to be outside instead of next to my desk, where they often prevent me from rolling the chair! LOL! I also put a stove out there so I can pressure can or hot water bath my vegetables, etc., in summer. I'm pretty handy with tools, and built big, wide 'benches' in there. Currently, they are holding canning jars and other things I want out of the house for the winter. BUT, these are also like bunk beds, with a shelf on the ends for lights, tv, etc., if I want to sleep out there on hot summer nights. I do watch tv out there, or listen to audio books and clean tack (saddles and bridles), too, instead of bringing that in the house. I may take my sewing out there in the summer. I love watching both your channels Kate, and subscribed to Ant's as well. Carry on!

Kate, you should plant some lovely hydrangeas around the pond. They love water and it seems they would get plenty around the bird feeder side of the pond. They come in lovely shades of pink, purple, white and YES, even shades of green. The larch cladding is perfect for the cabin. Ant does such a wonderful job.

Looks great inside now as well with the quilts and quilt wall. Love the vintage looking cabinet on the wall inside too. Pretty cool there Kate and nice job Anthony. The outside looks awesome-love the live edge planks. Reminds me of an old western post office. I think our Tamarack is similar to your Larch. Larch and Tamarack both remind me of a town I lived in when the kids were little. We said we lived in the "tree section". The roads were all trees and I lived on Tamarack. I remembered the names by the words pot ball...pine, oak, tamarack, birch, ash, larch and lime lol.

What a perfect choice for the cladding.Each new thing makes such a big impact. It's just remarkable how this all came to be from an idea to a finished little cabin for Eileen and friends. :D Ant has been a great contributor and together, you made it happen. Now it's what we used to call the 'lipstick'; finishing bits. Oh Kate! The projects made on the tour were wonderful - so much beauty and they look fun. Now every time they pick up their project bag, they'll be proud and happy, remembering you, Arne & Carlos!
