While we may not have new episodes of Futurama to rely on any more, you better believe we will never stop rewatching our old favourite show. The adventures of the Planet Express crew will never get old, and we can’t imagine a world or a universe in which we’d ever get tired of them. As smart and touching as it was hilarious, Futurama really was one of a kind. And these crazy behind the scenes facts make us love it even more! Like the fact that Billy West voiced not only Fry but pretty much every other beloved cartoon character, or that Farnsworth was named after the guy who invented the TV! How about how all the episodes aired out of order, or how they once got fined for including too many characters in one shot? There’s a real mathematical equation behind the episode The Prisoner of Brenda, Fry is wearing the same outfit as James Dean, Bender can do almost anything AND is named after John Bender from The Breakfast Club. Philip K Fry is named after the amazing voice actor Phil Hartman, the writers have created two alien languages, the binary code seen throughout the show is actually telling us something, there are history jokes everywhere, famous sci-fi sound effects, a whole new direction for Hermes, and a bunch of owls that have taken over New New York! All this and more make up 25 amazing things we never knew about Futurama.
Check out these other awesome videos!

We never lost futurama.. it just loops over and over again.
That's what I love about it
the PS2 game does that
@@lonegrimo6098 Also the last episode ever, 'Meanwhile'
Stuck in a loop
And several inches, conveniently resolving any chance of a paradox.
I wish I could erase all the memories I have of this show.
So I could watch it all for the first time again.
Don't we all
simple solution...find yourself a brain slug or make an acquaintance with the Hypnotoad(tm)...and you can forget everything as often as you like...the MIB are not as friendly or as helpful in such matters
Like me with the Silent Hill games...

Anyone else have re-watched Futurama dozens of times, but skipped the " Jurassic Bark" episode cause it's too sad?
Every. Single. Time.
yes. i also skip the last episode. i watch it all up until the last episode and start over. so the show never really ends, i just keep falling back and cant get to the end. ive rewatched it all at least 10 times but have only seen the last episode twice.
Yep
So many episodes hit hard in the feels
I'm crying right now just by the mere memory of it...it's just so heart-wrenching...
Who else is annoyed that they said the languages were deciphered and then went on to not show us what anything said?
more annoyed by the loud announcer and the quiet clips

Fry: "Discover?"

This is such a non-video.
Yeah, it seemed strange that he only mentioned Billy West when, if I'm not mistaken, all the regular cast members have extensive voice work experience besides Futurama (except maybe Katie Sagal).
when bender get stolen and they have to get all the parts back and he says "im 40% back, baby" XD
Lol he gets so sad about the butt plate lol
Laban Warner its his shiny metal ass dude id be sad too
i wish they had made 27 seasons of futurama instead of simpsons
Then it would be like simpsons,it would slowly fall down like simpsons sadly 😥

The real dog's name was Hachiko - her statue is actually a common place to meet at the start of a first date, hoping her loyalty and love will rub off on the new couple.

As iconic, groundbreaking and trendsetting as The Simpsons has been, Futurama was Matt Groening's best work. The show was smart, the jokes required somewhat of a functioning brain, the characters lovable and BOY could it get you in the feels. (Jurassic Bark. 'Nuff said)
I will miss Futurama. Thank the Giant Manta for DVD collections!
Dave Smith The future setting gave it a timeless feel, the politics and technology didn’t need to match when the episodes were written. The episodes written to cash in on a superficial trend wound up dating more than the first four seasons. Lolcats, the 2012 prophecy, Susan Boyle, the birther movement, all those episodes and the jokes around them show their age much more.
Yes, that's true. I often thought about some of those kind of jokes dating certain episodes. But, all in all, it was still among the very best of Western animation.
A webcomic, El Goonish Shive, had a character posit that the "Seymour" is the base unit of sadness, and measures the emotional reaction from watching Jurassic Bark.
@@soren3569 , I can completely agree!
It wasn't the only sad one, either. How about when Fry writes in the cosmos for Leela and it gets imploded before she gets a chance to see it?
I'm still not over the cancelation of Futurama.
The first time.
And the second time.
Or the third time.

@@PabloRMemeLord but I tried to watch final space, comparing it to Futurama is a huge mistake because it's not even a pubic hair on Futurama's balls. The characters, writing, humor and just about everything else fails in comparison. It's best to watch final space without comparing the 2, but it's hard not to :(
They ended it perfectly. It is my favorite show and I’m the biggest Futurama fan that I know I love the show but I don’t think it should come back, I think it would ruin the ending and idk I just think it should be left as is. All good things must come to an end and Futurama had its end, no need to bring it back.
Yes! At least another movie, if another series isn't possible.
they could bring it back with the most famous wanted criminal from a totally different tv show do you know who the criminal is i'll be here waiting for a answer

Futurama was literally my favorite show growing up. Id even use blank tapes to record episodes on my little tv/vcr combo, then watch them over and over lol
One of my favorite bits was when the mayor was honoring Fry by renaming Friday to Fryday.
One of the things that I love most about Futurama is that incredibly funny lines can come from anyone:
Bender: "Ya know, I was a God once"
Galaxy/God Thing: "Yes, I saw, you were doing well until everyone died."
or
Nixon: "Hello, Morbo! How's the family?!"
Morbo: "Belligerent and numerous."
Such great writing! =D
Leela: it's the Tallest mountain on mars
Fry: where? ... oh... ohhhhhh
In the star trek episode, welshy’s only line is something along the lines of “dw i ‘di meddwi’n llwyr” which is welsh for “i’m considerably drunk.” Being a welsh speaker, i always loved that little inclusion
2:40 Ah yes, Brenda. She always was my favourite character on the Futuroony Show, along with Dr. Zerdborg.

"Why not zoidberg" comes from a commercial for the volume 7 DVDs which preceded the meme.

Fry's dog episode broke my heart; specially because at the end of the episode fry thinks his dog wouldn't wait for him all this time; then we can see that the dog died waiting for fry. John Logie Baird FRSE was a Scottish engineer, innovator, one of the inventors of the mechanical television, demonstrating the first working television system on 26 January 1926
mechanical being the operative word. Farnsworth invented the first solid state television
Its so refreshing to watch a video with facts that I still didn't know. I've been a superfan since the beginning and I go into these videos all high and mighty thinking theres NO way I haven't heard everything. At the end of Jurassic Bark I burst into tears and protested, "That's not fair! Futurama's not supposed to make you cry!"
1:57. How can you be fined by an animator for having them animate something, that is their entire job. Wtf.
I'm guessing that the contract has a clause detailing the amount of man hours required for every show. The Korean animators may have translated the word as a "fine" but it must have just been an additional fee.
