Marshal studies to become a lawyer, is a lawyer for several seasons then he becomes a judge. Lily is a kindergarten teacher for the entire show! Robin a news reporter and then a news anchor for the entire show. Ted is an architect and then a professor of architect at a university. Barney works for GNB the entire show.

From Ted's boss wanting to design a building that looks like he's compensating for something (with Ted saving the day with his design), Robin hating her 4 AM show, Barney's "Tuesday" being documents that Marshall expects to cause them to go to war with China if not properly executed, Marshall leaving GNB to become an environmental lawyer, all to Lily trying to make a name for herself in the art world and snapping at a kid for drawing one too many rainbows.
Every episode has them talking about work, and at least half have their work playing a major role.
Facts. Also, for Friends, Monica was a head chef for a fancy New York restaurant and Rachel was literally an executive for Bloomingdale’s and then Ralph Lauren. Plus they sublet from Monica’s grandmother.

Or, perhaps, he was also a part of an accident, and Peter partially believes it could be that rooster dude to blame of the accident.

It's true that money became less of a concern for the Friends gang after the first few seasons, but it was never cartoonish like in Family Guy, the Simpsons and so on. They almost never went on vacation, the Porsche was a gift and the biggest expense in the series was Monica and Chandler's wedding, which was pretty reasonable considering he had held a well-paying job for several years, with a big raise in season 1.
And all the other characters had a job or were looking for one, their careers actually being an important part of the show.

I have this theory that Peter hates Meg because MEG IS NOT HIS DAUGHTER! Think about it. On the episode where Brian humped Putersmiths dog on that race track, Brian said Megs real father's name when Peter was testifying for him. If Peter & Lois been together since before they had kids, then how is he not Megs father unless Lois cheated or they were on break & Lois had Meg. Anyone notice that Lois at least "tries" with Meg, then she just gives TF up? He mistreats her because he had to take care of someone else's child. He holds resentment towards Meg. My theory for his hatred for Meg is the most realistic.

Meg isn't Peter's daughter. In an early episode of Family Guy, Brain listed who Meg's real father was and Chris looked shocked. Meg didn't hear it because she had headphones on.

We've seen multiple times in the show that Peter actually relies on the funding from Fox to pay for his shenanigans. One example of this and probably the most recognizable is when he buys a farm and tells the owner "did nobody call ahead? Usually someone from Fox calls and then I just do whatever." Shortly after, the phone rings and the farmer happily agrees with whatever is being said. We actually hear him say "oh yes! Yes, that'll be just fine!" To which Peter, having heard, nods confidently and with a satisfied look says "there we go." The scene then cuts to him telling the family. At no point does he even attempt to make his own offer because he knows it will be done for him.

The main problem with the theory that Brian is a human brain in a dogs body is that there's an entire episode about Brian dealing with his abandonment issues from his mother, he fully remembers being a puppy in the barn he was born in.

Okay so you’ve clearly never watch How I Met your mother or you’d know that all of their jobs are very clearly established.
Ted is an architect. This is something they talk about in many different episodes and he designs a skyscraper which is a huge part of the later seasons.
Lilly was a kindergarten teacher for a long while until she quit to peruse her dream as an artist and worked for the Captain as his advisor.
Marshall was a student in the beginning seasons before becoming a lawyer and eventually a judge in the end.
Robin had a steady job as a news anchor the whole time and it really took off in the last season.
Barney’s job was never fully established until the final season of the show. Before then when asked he would always reply with “Please.” Until he eventually he explained it as him basically being his companies fall guy. After a complicated plan where he turns his company in to the cops, he then is shown to run a lifestyle blog.
The name Barney and in the show, all I could think of was the dinosaur.

All five of them had respectable well paying careers not to mention each characters individual financial issues were addressed several times throughout the series. Such as when Marshall had to accept an undesirable job with Barney rather than going off to be an environmental lawyer because he wanted to have enough money to support a family with Lily. Ect.
