I am a electrical maintenance manager and heath and safety manager. Please do not use any make of non contact voltage detector to prove that a circuit is safe to work on. They are not reliable and not fail safe. Electricians use a tester and a proving unit which are expensive. ie Fluke T90 tester £70.00 Fluke proving unit £131.00 Test the tester, test the circuit, re test the tester. I have had to investigate when non electricians have been electrocuted and it is not nice. This was not on one of my sites. Please work safely everyone.
Some things you just have to bite the bullet with and save up for quality gear, one of them is wood chisels, I'm a builder that specialises in joinery and I've had the same set of chisels for 10 years, and the only reason it's only been 10 years is because my last ones got theived out of my van along with everything else.
As I'm disabled, can't get out to see these "live" as it were. So it's good that someone takes the time to give an insight to what is available. Thanks, the stackable trays look really good, so I'm interested in those thanks again.
Hi Dan, that tweezer set caught my eye. I'll pop in tomorrow and buy a set it still in stock. PS: I'm a subscriber and watch nearly all your videos, with the Trash to Track episodes being my favourites. You've repaired 3 locos for me. As it happens, OOBill has just completed a 4 parter video serial showing how he rebuilt my WD 2-8-0 Austerity.
I hope Aldi and Lidl are giving you a commission, Dan, I imagine their profits grow after each video. The storage tray set looks ideal for my railway modelling spares.
Hi there Dan As a retired Electro-Mechanical Engineer (HND) I thought that I would help you to better understand UK Voltage. Regarding this in the UK for domestic circuits, we have a range of 216v to 253v but more often than not we get 220v AC, depending on where you live. Regarding the cycles (although you did not mention it by name, hence this bit of info) it is 50 hertz (50Hz). In the UK appliances and any electrical equipment that are manufactured to work at 50Hz. Briefly, 50Hz is 50cycles per second on a waveform
I've just come across your channel, [Dan's model railways], a very interesting review of the tools.... I've never seen a magnetic tray before..... I look forward to watching your previous videos....
Great storage and ratchet set. Nice vid and every time I come across one of your vids I find myself late in getting to the store and they are sold out. Keep up the good work.
Love the way you say A L D I - sounds like Audi, your car? :-) Very informative videos you make, would like to go and bye some of them, but they are never in the shops i Denmark, when you shows them! We don't have Aldi in Denmark anymore. Would like the Magnetic tray or the boxes, but not interested in the bit-set.
Have both Workzone and Parkside tools. Find them to be high quality, but don't have any off the ones you have shown today. German quality is always good. Thank you for your time in making these videos look forward to seeing more as only recently found your channel
Lidi I find is the best I've had a good few tools from the Aldi don't have a big enough range in the shop in Worcester being I do welding for a living 25 years experience and I do a bit in my spare time (extra money) and the flux welding wire small roll for £4 is really good for body work saves me using my gas and the grinder with a plug £25 got different speed settings and it's powerful and even spare brushs as well you really cant go wrong ive tryed temu dont bother most of the tools are 💩 poor quality thats why its cheap spent more time getting a refund after waiting 2 weeks to come 🤬😡
Great video thank you Dan 👍 love the magnetic tray ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ dads 90 always tinkering with bits and loosing screws/washers, latest a spacer for a strimmer, on my knees and hands managed to find it some time later. Tray would be a good idea
That stapler is amazing, I have two very expensive all metal versions and it appears to be as useful!! I love the stacked boxes, I can’t get them as I have mobility issue’s ans my driving licence gone on medical grounds and these people don’t sell them on web! Bob England
I love a rummage in the middle aisles in Aldi & Lidl but i never seem to find the good tools i see advertised or on UA-cam , maybe i'm just unlucky ? Nothing better than the Mrs sending you down for a few pints of milk and a french stick and you come home with a cordless chainsaw & a Wayne Rooney toilet roll holder 😆
Great video as always. Those stackable storage boxes look great. I’ve got loads of soldering stuff that would be nice and neat in those. Will need to checkout my local Aldi but it is very small and doesn’t always stock everything.
Can't beat lidls middle aisle. I find aldis poor in comparison. I wouldn't mind getting the money I've spent on tools in a lump sum back 😂 great vids!! Keep them coming pls 🙏
If you are new to buying from the middles aisles make sure the seals are still intact before buying, I bought a gas soldering iron set a few weeks back & luckily I checked & at least four packs had the solder stolen out of them. How desperate must you be to pinch £1 of solder!
I may be wrong but on the T handle rachet driver set - don't you pull the collar up and then insert the bit or the extension? I have an electric screwdriver from Aldi and it's the same. I can't see that it would be that loose - it would keep falling out!
The Parkside Tools from Lidl are very reasonably priced for the quality they obtain to. I have several tools/accessories from the range & its growing...
I keep going to my local Aldi and Lidl but they never seem to carry a lot of the tools you show 😔. All they keep saying is I have to go to the bigger shops as more often than not they don’t get the tools at their shops, because even though my local stores are big, they are considered to be smaller stores 😢.
i almost have all the 20V battery tools from parkside, a tool wich is from time to time hard to get is the 20V palm router they have a brushless motor, so they will perform for a longer time, cheers mate
Aldi power tools are cheap with a 3 year warranty the only trouble is that they don’t sell the battery to power it they have the battery chargers but not any batteries to go with them so what’s the point selling them on the first place
The amount of times i have lost little nuts and bolts when working on things. That little magnetic tray is absolutely fantastic, i needed one of these all along.
Always enjoy your Aldi & Lidl tools videos. I like to see what is out in those shops and keep an eye out for them if I a need for them. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Great video and thanks for sharing this with you viewers. I really wasn’t aware of all of these great tool that are available from Aldi & Lidl, I’ll certainly be checking these stores out for more items. I personally like the stackable boxes, they’d be so handy for all those bit and pieces I have laying around in various places.
upside down economy where a metal staple gun with 1,000 staples costs less than a luke warm takeaway Starbucks Cappuccino
Probably tastes better lol

Aldi and Lidl tools are great for the DIYer, also your reviews are informative and nice and easy to watch
Just proves company's can make great products at reasonable prices. Always looking in the middle aisle, funny how fast my wife can walk through it.
When ever I buy storage, I soon find, I end up needing more.
As I'm disabled, can't get out to see these "live" as it were. So it's good that someone takes the time to give an insight to what is available. Thanks, the stackable trays look really good, so I'm interested in those thanks again.
Always love exploring the shelves at Aldi and Lidl for tools. Thanks for pointing out some recent bargains.
I got the voltage detector. Its not good. Yes it works but i would not use it for cable detection, it is not good enough

Loving Aldi stuff, my wife works there and always brings me tools home when they get reduced. My shed is loaded.
Nice.
Great set of reviews, your video has nudged me to get myself down to Aldi & Lidl for a nose around at the tools. Thanks.
Hi anyone of these gifts for my hobby would be a great, thanks Dan

Really useful, well pre✅sented thank you

The voltage tester you showed reds from 70v to 1000v AC.
Your layout should be up to 16v DC.
Hence, the voltage tester will not work on your layout.

Blowing the misconceptions out of the water as I am surprised at the value, quality and random selection! Keep the videos coming

Great video as always. Those stackable storage boxes look great. I’ve got loads of soldering stuff that would be nice and neat in those. Will need to checkout my local Aldi but it is very small and doesn’t always stock everything.
The capacitive voltage sensor won’t work on your model railway track because the range is 70-1,000 volts.
Can't beat lidls middle aisle. I find aldis poor in comparison. I wouldn't mind getting the money I've spent on tools in a lump sum back 😂 great vids!! Keep them coming pls 🙏

Just found your channel very interesting.. you got a new subscriber. Keep the vids coming.
Wish I’d picked some containers up when I was there. Wasn’t clearly marked - so gave it a miss. Helpful video.
The NCV tester only picks up AC. A lot of model railway stuff runs on DC which it doesn't detect, so it might not be usable in the way you hoped
I may be wrong but on the T handle rachet driver set - don't you pull the collar up and then insert the bit or the extension? I have an electric screwdriver from Aldi and it's the same. I can't see that it would be that loose - it would keep falling out!
Staple Gun, the 'sticky-out' pointy thing at the back of the loading tray is a staple remover
The Parkside Tools from Lidl are very reasonably priced for the quality they obtain to. I have several tools/accessories from the range & its growing...
Just bought a Cordless Aldi Drill for £14.99 reduced. Not sure how this works but found Amazon were selling the Aldi Chargers !!
I keep going to my local Aldi and Lidl but they never seem to carry a lot of the tools you show 😔. All they keep saying is I have to go to the bigger shops as more often than not they don’t get the tools at their shops, because even though my local stores are big, they are considered to be smaller stores 😢.
Another good video Dan, As I have a model railway the magnetic tray would be good, as I don't have z Lidlington near me❤
Quite fancy the magnetic tool tray if I don’t win the giveaway I will buy one regardless
I went to Lidl to see what tools were in and what a shit show. No prices on 50% of the stuff. Unfortunately I'd left my crystal ball at home.
Interesting how LIDL/ALDI have some things that are clearly identical products. Weird though that their ranges can vary so much.
Will have a new workshop once the garage conversion is finished. Think I'll be doing a lot of middle aisle shopping soon.
i almost have all the 20V battery tools from parkside, a tool wich is from time to time hard to get is the 20V palm router

Love watching your video's here's hoping to be in draw to win the storage boxes so I could store all bits I normally lose.
Fantastic video really learnt a lot about tools from Aldi and would like that magnetic tray I am a mechanic I need somewhere to put my nuts and bolts
I enjoy your videos, could do with the stackable boxes in my modelling room. :)
Magnetic tray would be good for when I fix the wives phone screen she is always smashing it and refuses a screen protector
another great video the stackable containers would be very handy for my pen making parts at the moment i keep most of them in old tobaco tins
Only when you get to an age (which I have) do you fully apprciate having the right tool for the job.
Always enjoy the tool videos, my local lidl doesn't seem to have all the stock you show, I may have to find another local
Aldi power tools are cheap with a 3 year warranty the only trouble is that they don’t sell the battery to power it they have the battery chargers but not any batteries to go with them so what’s the point selling them on the first place
Love your content just subscribed would fancy the screwdriver set thanks
I was looking at the stackable kit the other day, but that magnetic tray would be amazing.
I regret to say my local Lidle has a very poor range of that's why l relief on your you tube to let me know what is available
Always very informative...great and helpful reviews
Love the Lidl tools, unfortunately we don't have Aldi here in N.ireland.
Handy video, I'm always losing one screw, so will buy if I don't win
Bit late to the party on this one, good shout on the tools, interested, but mostly in the storage boxes :)
Another interesting video, thank you very much. You’ve got to be in it to win it.
hi dan just to let you know i recieved the glue gun and my ladies were very happy to have it
Hi Dan. That 3 pk case pack would be put to good use for my model railway.
Nice giveaway nice for my model plane I am a messy sod never have stuff in order or I lose little bits
With voltage tester ALWAYS test it on a known supply first
The amount of times i have lost little nuts and bolts when working on things. That little magnetic tray is absolutely fantastic, i needed one of these all along.
I would use the stackable boxes for medical supplies in.
Aldi/lidl tools are exactly the same thing, different package.
Parkside do good quality tools for the DIY person.
Quick glue and seal the case up to prevent the 10mm from escaping!
Another great video. Keep up the good work Dan.
Good video. Keep them up. And do but bits that you so. Thanks.
Our local Aldis seem to be reducing the tool section. Seems to get smaller each time I go in
Always enjoy your Aldi & Lidl tools videos. I like to see what is out in those shops and keep an eye out for them if I a need for them. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Thanks Dan. Always worth seeing what’s in the middl of Lidl! 😊
“Made in the same Factory “ Like every Chinese Product
I would love to win any of the items, they all look really useful
would love to win these bits please, Thankyou
The upside down part is that a coffee costs so much.
Do they have any online sales of unsold tools etc that's
Aldi ended the tools where i am but Lidl is still good.
I picked up one of those staple guns and they are tiny!

0:37 very good review of these tools
Decent tools at a reasonable cost.
