It makes so much sense to me to see Winona and Wendy bonding together. And also seeing Winona almost take a big sister role to Wendy and ghost Abigail is adorable.
I fucking loved this short! The parallels between Wendy & Abigail and Winona & Charlie, the way that Winona comforted Wendy, the fact that Charlie killed the Catcoon and spread the petals for the girls to find Abigail, and the way that Winona acted around Wendy. One of my favorites animations of DST ever! I loved it!
oh my god the realization at the end that those werent Abigail's flower petals, those were *rose* petals this was a really good short, thank you very much Klei and props to the animators and writers! :]

@@Fiufsciak I think so yes. She already buffs Maxwell dark abilities on Lore itself, but Winona dark allighnment has Vines with roses blossoming. A rose is the symbol of charlie, and she clearly enhances Winona's abilities even if Winona herself don't know it.
The thing is Don’t Starve has a very well rounded and interesting cast of characters but the only canonical times we see them interacting with each other is in these short 2 minute animations, I love each and every one of these characters so I really want to see them interacting with each other. But the thing I’m worried about is that if Klei partners with a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu it would make it very inaccessible to fans who don’t like that streaming service because it’s all subscription based nowadays but if theirs no partnership’s with a larger company it would be really difficult to fund a Don’t Starve tv series, I would actually rather but the show than have it locked behind a subscription but that’s not really how most tv series operate these days. But regardless no matter what streaming service it’s on I would love a Don’t Starve show and I know that many other fans have wanted one for years as well and with the recent boom in video game tv shows and movies I hope that it can finally become a reality

Besides, if you didn’t subscribe you’d be no worse off than you are now, when there is no show at all. Most of all, creative people deserve to be paid for their work. If you don’t want to pay for it, that’s on you, but I’m sure no one at Klei would expect you to clean their houses or cook their food (or whatever it is you do for a living), without being paid.
I love this short and the implication that the true Charlie, just like when they were kids, wishes to be found and saved by her big sister yet again. Even if her evil personality has another plan for their body, she's still there. It makes me think that, once we reach the end, there will be a struggle to drive the shadow entity out of her. We are, after all, there ToGetHer.
Aw this short is so adorable!!! Nothing could ever actually get in between those two and I bet the only reason Wendy was upset about the flowers in the first place was because she was getting them for Abby's sistern. Winona being the older sister character is so nice to see here just after helping out Wurt too, I love the interactions with these characters in the shorts so much! 🥰
Wendy and Abigail reminding Winona of Charlie and then Winona acting like a mother/big sister to Wendy was really cute. It's a really cool dynamic. Afterall, even if she's quite nihilistic Wendy is still a little girl. I also like the detail that Abigail needs Wendy to summon her, I guess it's already something we knew from the game but here she feels like her own person and without Wendy it feels like she's completly helpless.

I seriously love how good the writing in these are despite the lack of any spoken dialogue omg The dynamic between Wendy/Abigail being compared to Winona/Charlie, the details on what Nona and Charlie's home life was like before this mess, the animation in general just being stellar! I think this is my favorite of all the animated shorts by a long mile, well done to everyone who worked on this and every one of these shorts. Your work is so appreciated by everyone in the fanbase
That would be great. I don't know if there is some pro strat I'm missing, but Wendy feels super weak against bosses (except for Bee Queen), and her buffs don't really feel worth that.
i hope wendy and maxwell get them since wormwood wxist which has only lunar alignment i think he should have like a charlie alignment where he gets new spells and buffs to other spells based on how charlie can make thorns apear or a shadow alignment where can can craft other pure horror gear and buff his minions more and idk maybe make the duelists not take that much sanity so he can have more of them or just making it so nightmare creatures are all neutral to him
@@Spookweave well that's kind of the trade-off. you get a super-easy to use strong crowd control at the cost of being weaker against bosses, kind of the point. that said if you want a "pro strat"- use a beefalo. wendy only deals 75% of damage normally but gets a 54% (i think) damage buff when attacking the same enemy as abigail. beefalos ridden by wendy don't suffer from wendy's lower damage, but do benefit from abigail's damage buff when attacking the same enemy, so you end up with damage basically akin to a little better than an infinite dark sword.
oh my Gods... it really is nice to see Wnedy finally smiling probably for the first time in forever. Also I love the relationship between Charlie and Winona when they were kids. And hwo intresting it is to see Charlie also having fun memories with Winona
There are actually a lot of lore implications in the flashbacks we see through Winona. 1. I'm going to have to assume that the house that she was staying in with Charlie was their cabin in British Columbia (Mentioned in the William Carter puzzles). We see that it is very small (Probably around 30 square feet) and the lack of parents shows that they most likely don't live there permanently. If we assume that their parents are relatively responsible for their children, then their actual house is most likely not very far away, meaning that the family lived in, and might even originate from, Canada. The fact that this might be the sisters' personal cabin is backed up even more by the fact that we only see two beds, as well as child's clothing and toys. Edit: I also found that there are quotes suggesting she lived in a tenement house, which was probably the primary dwelling of her family. 2. Though this theory isn't very strong, I couldn't help but notice that many of the pictures on the wall depict blossoms, bonsai trees, and something that looks to be the great wall of china, showing that they (or at least the cabin's previous owners) might be of East Asian descent. 3. You can also see that the cellar Charlie hides in is full of produce, as we can see a milk can, peaches, pumpkins, potatoes, some kind of grain, garlic, a type of pickle, and other unidentifiable jars. This might mean that their parents either farmed this produce, or they were possibly left there to ration over a long period of time, maybe meaning that Winona, Charlie, and their parents planned to camp out here for a long time, either for leisure or in preparation for an event.
This is a nice animated short. Honestly, from my honest opinion, Don’t Starve Together should have an animated series. I love the gothic animation style here, and I don’t see it often. I hope you all have a good day!

I love this short. It gives a parallel connection between Winona and Charlie and Wendy and her sister. They both love to play together, and they both need each other no matter what. I love the scene when Winona shedding tears at Wendy reunited with her sister. It gives her flashbacks when Winona found Charlie crying in dark. What an amazing animated short for Winona and Wendy. We should get more shorts focusing on the girls. And I am happy Klei Entertainment never forget Don’t Starve Together and the focus on Charlie’s arc. Keep up the good work.
This might be my favorite short yet since the Warly short, you guys really outdid yourselves with this one. The flashbacks and the parallels between the two characters, just great stuff. Really excited for more in the future!
Everyone's already said their piece on the latter half of the short, so I'd just like to express my appreciation for the bit at 0:10... The way that they both get huffy with each other showing that despite their situation and grim outlook, they're still just kids at the end of the day. Wonderfully charming little detail there

As much as I long for Wendy and Abigail to have some interaction with their uncle, this dynamic with Winona and Wendy and Abby's parallel with Charlie is perfection and everything I didn't know I wanted!!!
Charlie: Wendy would feel horrible about loosing their sister. I'll pick a leaf off a new flower to bring her back! Also Charlie: Went in the dark? Don't mind if I do! *dies you to death*
Charlie kind of softens from time to time as we see here, remembering her past and the human feelings, but those moments are quite short-lived, as she once again gets consumed by darkness and her grand scheme.
Klei Entertainment, your animations spark so many emotions in me, I've been following for many years and your animations make me feel like i'm a kid again playing Don't Starve for the first time in this mysterious world. Good job, Klei Team!
Charlie reminded me of Anna from Frozen. "Do you want to play in the darkness?" I think she killed the catcoon because of the sisterly feelings she has for Winona.
I love the character interactions and the connection wiona and wendy have..here really a great mini short.. that is some good writing here kudos to klei entertainment for this Mini short animation The more i see these short animations about charlie the more i wanna know about the character like who is she, what's her goal etc.
What a heartwarming short! I also love the lore between Winona, Wendy, and Charlie! Also, it looks like the wooden house is the cabin that Charlie mentions to Maxwell in the William Carter Puzzles. Thank you for pampering us with these wonderful animations, Klei!

Love this one! All of the animations are so good, but I'm biased to this one since Wendy & Abigail and Winona & Charlie are some of my favs. Always love to see content of them! I hope you guys do an animated series sometime in the future, I know your team must be super busy but many people would love to see it, you're all very talented. I know I'm rambling, but genuinely thank you, your team is so refreshing to see in a world of so many apathetic and greedy game devs, you guys stand out like a kind light in the dark and are so wholesome and seem to understand your players. I've been here since before RoG and you guys have been the exact same sweet devs through all these years.

The idea that Abigail's flower was saved, but Charlie's was torn apart, either by the catcoon, a creature of the constant, or Charlie herself, is some interesting symbology.

I can't believe the original game came out 10+ years ago, I'm so happy that it was able to find success and foster a dedicated, and still active community, and most of all, that Klei still puts love into the game and it's characters. I love watching these animated shorts and learning more about the relationships between the survivors in the Constant, thank you Klei!
Yesterday I was playing a game with my best friend while listening to music, and while I was this video came up as an ad Somehow the *second* I heard the ad's audio my first thought was "Is this Don't Starve?" And I was suprised that I was actually right, goes to show how unique of a game this is that I can reconize it by just its sound lol
Hey Klei, I'm a really big fan of all the Winona content we've been getting recently, she's one of my favorite characters and it's awesome to see her get this treatment. I was wondering if we might ever see more about Winona's coworkers back at Voxola, specifically Genevieve?
Might as well start making a movie Klei. Your animations never fails, and you literally make me love a character voiced by trumpet more than some professionally voiced characters in actual movies
Very well made, while the other animation are all amazing, it is very good to see more recent ones develop the relationships between survivors while still telling just as much story as the older ones.
Augh, this confirms the leitmotif we've been hearing in these animatics was connected to Charlie herself and not just her antics!! And I love the beautiful wrench thrown into the story that is Charlie still showing signs of having a heart ❤

klei is the kind of studio that makes a beautiful story with characters that could be so happy and friends all it could be so nice and then they go "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANY OF THAT" And god do i want a good ending..
Overall I loved seeing more of Wendy and Winona but I few things I noticed was: - Wendy was just happier this time. It’s nice to see that kinda character growth from her. - When we see child Winona and Charlie in the photo from Winona’s animated short (the “Next of Kin” one), child Winona and Charlie have different outfits than in this animated short. I’m assuming it’s just because they were an bit older in the photo. - Charlie caring about the others was odd but nice to see.
The clothes one is stupid tbh. Do you wear the same things all your life? Imo it's a nice detail they created something new (It's not a hate comment, just saying my mind)

I love this for many reasons!!! Firstly, Charlie still cares about others, before we saw her as a monster but lately she's become more humanized Secondly, Charlie (likely) killed the catcoon because she knew how important that flower was, and I feel like wendys skill tree will be mostly shadow aligned due to quotes in game regarding celestial crown, wendy aligning with Charlie makes sense 3, it shows that not only did Charlie protect the flower, but led them to it as well, she cares enough that she'd go out of her way to help by destroying her own stuff (I'm not sure how important roses are to Charlie, but there's a lot of symbolism

This might mean that their parents either farmed this produce, or they were possibly left there to ration over a long period of time, maybe meaning that Winona, Charlie, and their parents planned to camp out here for a long time, either for leisure or in preparation for an event.

This is a nice animated short. Honestly, from my honest opinion, Don’t Starve Together should have an animated series. I love the gothic animation style here, and I don’t see it often. I hope you all have a good day!

I love this short. It gives a parallel connection between Winona and Charlie and Wendy and her sister. They both love to play together, and they both need each other no matter what. I love the scene when Winona shedding tears at Wendy reunited with her sister. It gives her flashbacks when Winona found Charlie crying in dark. What an amazing animated short for Winona and Wendy. We should get more shorts focusing on the girls. And I am happy Klei Entertainment never forget Don’t Starve Together and the focus on Charlie’s arc. Keep up the good work.
This might be my favorite short yet since the Warly short, you guys really outdid yourselves with this one. The flashbacks and the parallels between the two characters, just great stuff. Really excited for more in the future!
Everyone's already said their piece on the latter half of the short, so I'd just like to express my appreciation for the bit at 0:10... The way that they both get huffy with each other showing that despite their situation and grim outlook, they're still just kids at the end of the day. Wonderfully charming little detail there

As much as I long for Wendy and Abigail to have some interaction with their uncle, this dynamic with Winona and Wendy and Abby's parallel with Charlie is perfection and everything I didn't know I wanted!!!

Charlie kind of softens from time to time as we see here, remembering her past and the human feelings, but those moments are quite short-lived, as she once again gets consumed by darkness and her grand scheme.

Love this one! All of the animations are so good, but I'm biased to this one since Wendy & Abigail and Winona & Charlie are some of my favs. Always love to see content of them! I hope you guys do an animated series sometime in the future, I know your team must be super busy but many people would love to see it, you're all very talented. I know I'm rambling, but genuinely thank you, your team is so refreshing to see in a world of so many apathetic and greedy game devs, you guys stand out like a kind light in the dark and are so wholesome and seem to understand your players. I've been here since before RoG and you guys have been the exact same sweet devs through all these years.

I truly loved this short. Every single short is good but this one made me literally cry with the part that make us think that the flower was broke and the first part was a huge thing.

I can't believe the original game came out 10+ years ago, I'm so happy that it was able to find success and foster a dedicated, and still active community, and most of all, that Klei still puts love into the game and it's characters. I love watching these animated shorts and learning more about the relationships between the survivors in the Constant, thank you Klei!
This short is incredible- it’s great to see the kinship between survivors, as well as some actual humanity and compassion attached to Charlie.

Yesterday I was playing a game with my best friend while listening to music, and while I was this video came up as an ad Somehow the *second* I heard the ad's audio my first thought was "Is this Don't Starve?" And I was suprised that I was actually right, goes to show how unique of a game this is that I can reconize it by just its sound lol

Very well made, while the other animation are all amazing, it is very good to see more recent ones develop the relationships between survivors while still telling just as much story as the older ones.
Augh, this confirms the leitmotif we've been hearing in these animatics was connected to Charlie herself and not just her antics!! And I love the beautiful wrench thrown into the story that is Charlie still showing signs of having a heart ❤

Overall I loved seeing more of Wendy and Winona but I few things I noticed was:
- Wendy was just happier this time. It’s nice to see that kinda character growth from her.
- When we see child Winona and Charlie in the photo from Winona’s animated short (the “Next of Kin” one), child Winona and Charlie have different outfits than in this animated short. I’m assuming it’s just because they were an bit older in the photo.
- Charlie caring about the others was odd but nice to see.
The clothes one is stupid tbh. Do you wear the same things all your life? Imo it's a nice detail they created something new (It's not a hate comment, just saying my mind)
Charlie has her moments. She spared Wilson and talked with Maxwell without hurting him
No more animated shorts I need an animated series. Top notch work

I just started playing the game and decided to go with Wendy. This is awesome. Gotta show this to my friend who plays Winona.
I love this for many reasons!!!
Firstly, Charlie still cares about others, before we saw her as a monster but lately she's become more humanized
Secondly, Charlie (likely) killed the catcoon because she knew how important that flower was, and I feel like wendys skill tree will be mostly shadow aligned due to quotes in game regarding celestial crown, wendy aligning with Charlie makes sense
3, it shows that not only did Charlie protect the flower, but led them to it as well, she cares enough that she'd go out of her way to help by destroying her own stuff (I'm not sure how important roses are to Charlie, but there's a lot of symbolism
