      Thank you so much honeybee1226 for sharing and letting the community know about my vegan cooking. Also did a bit of research on saffron. It is a hybrid. I am continuing as we speak to do more research because I find it very interesting what they have to say about saffron. (Lots of chemicals)I am also going to make the doubles and some pholourie. I have a video showing the chickpea curry so I do not have to redo this video. I will substitute the yeast with baking soda and perrier. I hope it has the same soft texture. I will try today and see how it turns out, then do it for video. Thanks again for your support.:)

    I eat sometimes once a day. When you eat once a day, how do you do the rest of the day? Do you drink just water or smoothies, juices...etc.? Most of my days are praying, fasting, what the days holds in duties and grab a salad or fruit or the like while doing my day. I find when we can share our "hows" with each other, there is strength, unity and sort of a one accord type way of being better in life. Thanks for showing this way to use herbs besides in salads. Funny I didn't think of that as an herb; just found out cilantro is an herb. I feel most uneducated at my years old. I am trying to teach others. Thank you for your videos.

      I usually drink lots of teas like chamomile, dandelion - I like the roasted dandelion teas, it taste like coffee. Burdock etc. Sometimes I would drink some sea moss depending on how I feel that day. The day goes by very quickly because I am very busy. Before you know it is it 4pm. Thanks for your comment and good luck.

      Oh I forgot to ask, do you reuse the oil you fried in or toss it? Thx again :D

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  7 років тому +4

      It depends on how much frying I did all at once. You should trash if you used the same oil for a lot of frying the same day and it starts to look yucky. If you only fried 1 thing for a few minutes or half an hour you can reuse the oil. Thanks for your question.

      falafels are not baked. If you bake it, it is not falafel, it is something else. You can do whatever you wish. Unless you plan on eating falafels everyday frying is not going to kill you.

    • @garlicdawg
      @garlicdawg 6 років тому

      whole foods bakes their falafel..like mine..and fried wont kill you..but any time a human eats heated fried oils..it will make you sick and is a major cause of cancer......heating oil damages & changes the DNa structure of the food causing it to be harmful to humans....

      Use grapeseed oil for frying. You can can also use avocado oil, sesame seed oil, and hempseed oil for frying. Only use olive oil and coconut oil to drizzle over your food and to make salad dressings. Thank you for your question.

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  8 років тому +3

      Refined or unrefined is good. The difference is that you will not have the flavor of the sesame in the refined type. It's like the refined and unrefined coconut oil. With refined coconut oil you don't have the coconut scent or flavor.

      Thanks for your question. You need to wash with hot water after use.No soap. Dry and apply vegetable shortening with a cloth or the blue paper towel that does will not leave residue, lint and fuzz inl the pan. You can get here: amzn.to/2M1yy2r

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  5 років тому +1

      I don't eat anything during the day this is why it is once a per day. For instance I have just finished eating my dinner. It is about 5:30 The last time I ate was around 9:30 night last night (I give myself a 4-5 hour window when I can eat- I usually don't eat past 9:30 at night) So abt 19 hours without eating. I had some coconut water around 4pm because I was out and about. That was it until I had a big salad of romaine lettuce, arugula, olives, (with salad dressing) quinoa and some curried chickpeas about 1/2 an hour ago. This is a good thing to do. If you are 35 or 40 years old you do not need to eat three or four or five meals a day. This kind of lifestyle will guarantee long life, great health and youthful looks. Thanks and take care.

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  8 років тому

      I don't quite understand your question, are you asking if the vegetables used in the falafel can be dehydrated? The dried chickpeas, which is the main ingredient in the falafel, is rehydrated to do the recipe. Please clarify your question and I'll see if I can help further.

    • @wizardofraw
      @wizardofraw 8 років тому +1

      They are asking about a raw version, because frying foods are not good, in fact Sebi's old food list specifically said NOT to consume fried foods of any kind, they are deemed dead, as well as over baked or over roasted..

    • @wizardofraw
      @wizardofraw 8 років тому

      BTW I have made a raw vegan version of this.

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  8 років тому +5

      Thank you for your insights. I would love to see the raw version of the falafel, or give me the recipe and method. However, I am not one to eat raw foods except for lettuces, arugala and some other greens. I am sure that there is quite a lot of value in eating some foods raw so that the enzymes are maintained. By the same token, eating is for enjoyment not just nutrition. Some fried foods are more enjoyable - like roasting instead braising or boiling because it seals and concentrates the flavor. The oils that I use are good for frying. - high smoking point. As far as Dr. Sebi's OLD list - I am not sure what you are referring to. The fact that you said "old" list says a lot. The list that I have does not say anything about this which you refer to. (Maybe he talked about it in one of his videos) At the end of the day, most humans eat cooked foods. Just like I am not going to eat raw meat like a lion in the jungle, I am not going to eat most raw foods, not just because it is not yummy and flavorful, but eating is suppose to be pleasurable. My goal in doing this is to make this transition to veganism something that most people can accomplish. Let's do one thing at a time. You cannot ask someone to go from being an omnivore to raw. These transitions take time. We need to understand the psychological of humans. Most people will abandon this type of eating if we don't go slowly. We also need to be honest with people. If you have been successful going totally raw all power to you. It is your right and privilege to do so. I wish you all the best. Have a happy and healthy New Year. p.s Do you eat Nopales raw? I am not able to find it, but I would like to do a raw salad with it. Take care

      I love your recipes but dont appreciate how you keep saying some other falafel is really bad. That is uncalled for and unprofessional. Dont do that, it leaves a bad taste in my mind
      about you as a person. If you dont like something, you dont have to eat it. You should not bad mouth it either. Someone could be saying the same thing about your food. Im from the west indies also and this is not how you were brought up. Act right!!!!

    How do you get the garbanzos soft without cooking. I buy the hard beans - I do not eat any canned foods (too much sodium for me)??

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  7 років тому

      I am not sure I understand your question. However, for this particular recipe (falafel) the beans are not soft because they are not cooked. Falafels are made with soaked uncooked beans. If you cook the beans it will not be falafel. Of course, the beans will get a bit softer with soaking, but they are not soft as if it were cooked. Thanks for your question. Take care.

    Hello, I understand we are to use uncooked chick peas. Are you using the chick peas from the bag? Do you soak the beans over night to soften them?

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren

      The chick peas are to be soaked overnight. It has to be dried chickpeas from the bag - not the can. Thanks for your question. Take care:)

    are you frying with coconut oil? but isn't deep frying food bad for you???

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  8 років тому +23

      My video does not indicate that I fry with coconut oil. I fry with grape seed oil. Been using it now for 15 years. Long before most people found out about it. My son's holistic doctor introduced me. Who said that frying was bad? The doctors? And how is that working our for the people who listen to this nonsense. They are still fat and overweight. America is a fat country. Sugar,sugar, sugar and carbs make you fat not frying. And when you fry the oil should be up to at least 375 degrees so that the thing you are frying does not soak up the grease. Frying is fine in my book. I am healthy and not overweight. Thank you for your question and take care of yourself.

    Thank you for sharing so many delicious recipes. Have you and your family experienced healing by following the alkaline electric diet? I keep wondering if I need to buy Dr. Sebi's herbs for healing or if changing to alkaline will do the healing.

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren

      If you have a specific issue/illness, I am sure that Dr.Sebis' herbs will help. Or you can buy for support to go along with your eating habits. My family and I are very healthy. My son specifically, was helped tremendously by some Dr.Sebi's recommendations/philosophies. Obviously if you stop eating certain foods like animal flesh you will definitely see a difference. If you eliminate fast foods which are all acidic you will see a difference. This is the reason I do this. Thanks for your question and good luck. :)
