      Why y’all gotta be rude, she is showing you move by move so you know exactly how to make it turn out like hers. She studies.
      It’s funny to me how everyone wants fast answers. No one wants to listen.

    I simply cooked my wild rice for 45 minutes (versus 15 minutes for white rice) and it turns out perfect every time. It's no more effort than cooking white rice, just more time. I think if someone is led to believe that they have to soak their rise 36 hours then cooked it for 90 minutes, that will be the thing that keeps them from trying it.
    With wild rice there are only 2 things you need to do. Pay attention to the water to rice ratio. And cook it for 45 minutes. So simple. Super delicious.

    I don't have the patience or time to soak my rice a whole day in advance. I use 2 cups of wild ride to 10 cups of water. After the water boils I put the 2 cups of rice in and turn the heat down to 4. Let the water evaporate out and mine comes out nice perfect and soft

      That's great. Whatever works for you. I soak rice for mainly two reasons - easier and quicker cooking and for texture depending on what I am preparing. Thank you for your comment.

      Sorry for the late response. I buy wild rice in bulk (organic of course). There are some brands from California and Minnesota. You can buy any of those. Thanks for your question.

      Yes, I'm sure you can do that, I choose to do it this way because I think the rice has a better texture and end product. Thank you for your insight.

    Here is how to cook rice to remove the most arsenic: 1. Soak your rice overnight - this opens up the grain and allows the arsenic to escape. 2. Drain the rice and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. 3. For every part rice add 5 parts water and cook until the rice is tender - do not allow it to boil dry. 4. Drain the rice and rinse again with hot water to get rid of the last of the cooking water.

    • @CreativeRecipeswithKaren
      @CreativeRecipeswithKaren  7 років тому +2

      There is no arsenic in wild rice as far as I my research. It is only the brown and white rice. Can you send me proof of this. I would like to know. Thanks.
      Everything that you said it exactly what I explained in my video. Talked about this for a long time. I explained in detail how to prepare this rice. Thank you for your reiteration though.:)

      I did a "kale chips" recipe many months ago. Look on my channel. A quick recipe you can do is kale with butternut squash. Good luck in your transition:)

      I buy wild rice in bulk at Whole Foods and Fairway. I also get it at the East Indian stores. As far as soaking, it is necessary, or else you are not going to get the kind of texture and softness that will allow the enjoyment of this rice.
