10:56 My parents have had a 2012 S60 D2 R-design since I was a kid, and that remote was awesome! I was always controling the radio, and playing the same 3 songs that I liked on a specific CD... Ahhh, good times. :)
Regarding unique interior features, I believe the center screen and instrument cluster startup images are also unique to the polestars (Polestar logo in the center screen and the wagon silhouette in the gauge cluster screen).
Just picked up my white 2016 P* in November. It’s great, though I wish the infotainment was upgraded. My on call works still, maybe it’s because I’m in Canada. It’s annoying that the car shuts off as soon as you open the door.
I've had 3 cars that switch from liters/100km to liters per hour when idling, a 1996 HSV (Holden Commodore) Senator, 2002 HSV R8 Clubsport, and a 2003 Ford Falcon...all Aussies. 🇦🇺
As a volvo master tech I got to do the PDI on one of these.. Checking the launch controle was the best part.... for 3800lbs it turned pretty well too. I now own a 2018 xc t5 with custom suspension, brakes, wheels and tune.. The t6 turbo charger is the bain of my existence with service advisories. And dont get me started on the problems with the I6 A true sleeper.

The engine was phased out so not to be using a ford engine, Hence the later polestar cars have a four-cylinder 2 L A better gear box , but don’t sound any ware as nice
There are 15 actual polestar built s60 concepts, wider track, built engine and 500bhp at the wheels all rebel blue and cost €250,000. 50 pre-production heico polestar S60s in Australia. Launch in the new polestar engineered cars is even easier. Put in d mode, foot on brake and floor it, release the brake within 2secs. It’s faster but sounds terrible if left stock. Modify the hell out of it. It needs an intercooler, turbo back, crank shaft, ported and flowed, wider track, etc because that’s what polestar actually did 500bhp at the wheels - get after it. I don’t have one because petrol costs $20+ a gallon in the UK and most of Europe (it’s why we don’t understand how little bhp american cars produce per litre) The best video to watch for all the true polestar people, is jay lenos s60 polestar. The head of polestar performance literally tells you everything. So to be clear there are only 15 true polestars every made and they are only s60s before that there are a few c30s.
Brutal car to drive in tight parking lots and downtown city streets. Same turning radius as a giant pickup truck. I use my shitty old Yaris around the city to avoid the stress and this out on the highway as thats where its true colours shine. It burns gas so fast in the city too but out on the highway I'm getting close to 30mpg at times which is pretty decent for a heavy sportscar running $1.95/l (cdn) premium gas.
I love your videos man!! I absolutely adore your V60, so jealous lol. Thanks to Ford and Volvo I can park my Volvo XC60 T6 3.0 up front with the Fords at the Ford KY Truck Plant lol.
You don’t need the other remote. You do need the module to be activated updated to recognize the signal from the key. That’s what the dealership told me when I asked.
10:00 Youre wrong here, the auto button for the climate controll is literally right infront of you, the black button next to "AC" in the center. Press that and the climate controll goes back to "standard" settings + AC on. But youre correct that you cant sync both temps via one button twist.
Yes, correct! Misspoke when I said "Auto." There's an Auto button on the fan speed control, just no sync temperature button. I did not actually mean auto there. Good catch!
@@shiftinglanesgarage Love the vids, looking forward to seeing you develope this thing to a beast! I own one myself, silver 2016 3.0. Very awsome cars, keep up the good work!
@Jaakko Laakso The V60 Polestar has that too. The blank was for Eco in the 2017 and 2018 Polestars. I just thought it would be cool to assign it another function. Maybe aftermarket subwoofer or lights or something?
@@tdevans11 I think it could be done since the button is there already. I have a D6 plug in hybrid and I have a missing button because of the headrests. Not in the US or Europe. The only place that got Polestar cars prior to 2015 was Australia. They got a test run in 2013 to see if it was globally feasible to make the cars. Massive success and the rest is history. Prior to this, the sportiest trim was the R-design which you can have optimized with a factory polestar tune. Not a true Polestar car, but still quite potent!

You got a lot of facts wrong... That is indeed not a Ford Mondeo steering, it was completely made by Volvo. Also that infotainment remote was something available primarily in P2 XC90's with Nav, not this car... Where'd you get your facts from??

The 2017 V60 2.0 TS has 270kw or about 400bhp. They dropped the 6cly. Very hard to find.
You can remote start the car by pressing lock then pressing and holding the light button for a few seconds until the side markers begin to flash.

Transverse mounted because of safety design. Sadly it kills weight distribution and turn radius which sucks with these i6 engines.
