I take 500mg of vitamin b1 supplement per day along with 3 eggs. I’m 36 and have never had alcohol. I heard b1 supplement can help with air hunger and anxiety. So I’m giving it a try.
500mg are you that's not over doing it a bit? by the way where do you get that expression> air hunger, never heard before but that makes sense for old people.
Hay Mr dr Remember when you talk about something you don’t need to show that you know so much. Remember people don’t know all of these. Do talk in simple words so that people can understand and benefited from it. Common sense.
How often can you give a 1L banana bag (b1, thiamin and Folic) to an elderly patient? Once a month, every 2 months ect....? Thank you so much for reply to my questions.
Honestly i am not a clinician so i can give you the perspective of biologist ,for this kind of medical queries consulting physician is the wise way as dose might vary person to person and its not a universal measure
A few notes- I have cared for many patients with Thiamine deficiency & Wernickes Encephalopathy/Korsakoff's Psychosis. Wernicke's Encephalopathy rarely effects the heart. Ataxia, lateral gaze nystagmus, opthalmoplegia, and anterograde amnesia with gross confabulation, are your classic triad. The onset is acute, with prognosis determined by time of onset Vs time of treatment- ie, parenteral Thiamine. Left untreated, it risks progression to Korsakoff's Psychosis- the same cladsic triad, in addition to retrograde & global amnesia, psychosis, and, death. High doses of Thiamine- 500mg TDS IV are required until symptoms resolve. Prophylaxis with minimum 100mg PO daily! Magnesium can also assist.

What if you don't drink but getting symptoms.. and you only eat fruits
If you eat proper fruits and vegetables then the deficiency would be recovered but if the deficiency is too much then supplements has to be taken
