    I'm excited to see this customer project Rabbit with a hybrid 2.0 liter using Mk3 and Mk4 parts to make it a better driving hot rod. I like the way you have solved the problems making the parts work together, making the front hood fit correctly. I especially like the eay the intake tube with the air filter position worked out. Really looking forward to seeing part 3 of this Mk1 and how much gain there is in HP!

    I've got nothing but Thumbs up's 👍 for all of your builds. Here's a question for you and All your viewers May have? When doing an ABA mk1 swap like this' which is exactly what I'm doing" and being that it's a tall block what upper strut/stress bar would you recommend to clear the ABA intake manifold?

    • @MysteryGarage
      @MysteryGarage  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! I appreciate that! As for the strut bar, that’s a very good question, I’m not sure. It would have to be very specific to clear the intake mani and not contact the hood in any way… has someone on here found one?? Thanks for watching, appreciate the support! Cheers

    Hey I watched your first video on this "hot rodding" and you had some very good info in the video and the video description. I noticed that there wasn't any info on the mk6 Jetta 2.0 that was offered as a base level car. Do you have any info on that 2.0? Was it just another AEG Mk4 2.0? I believe the intake is just like the Mk4 but is plastic. Great job on videos! You earned a new subscriber!

    Another great production. I would like to see you place a tire on rim under car or wood block safety when working under teeny jack stands...a slight earth tremor at the wrong moment may kill you. We need your knowledge please be safe.;)

    • @MysteryGarage
      @MysteryGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I thank you very much for your concern! I assure you, while maybe they might look small on camera, these jack stands are pretty beef! I’ve used them for years and never so much as seen a wobble… if you are uncomfortable with this, you should watch the early “step child” episodes where I have the car up on saw horses lol. Again all super safe, don’t it lots before. Anyways, appreciate the support very much and thanks for watching!! Cheers

    Great Video, I have a mk4, it's got the later model apk, looks like the obd1 aba throttle body does bolt straight into the mk4 manifold. Did you have to make any brakets or just a straight fitment? Cheers

    Looks good!
    Regarding IAT, not possible to install in the intake hose?
    I don't know the ABA, but on aftermarket ecu IAT bolted to the intake cause false Reading of IAT due to heated up by the aluminium and it cools down slowly.

    Hi just a quick question with the intake filter being directly behind the fan would that not cause a power loss as the fan is pulling the heat away from the radiator the intake will be sucking in all that heat into the engine.

    Does this set up still fit an AC? I’m in Texas and have to have AC for the intense heat.

    What header did you replace? I’m working on a ABA swap into my mk1 GTi and trying to find headers to use on the cheap. I’m told the OBX Aba headers work fine but I’m not sure. The TT headers are awesome but that 500 bucks is the difference between this motor going in next week or next month. Thanks in advance

    You know your stuff on vws. I have a 90 Jetta gli 16 valve been sitting for about three years trying to get it going for know till I find the wright motor for the swap will run on b12 getting fuel to injection pump but no fuel from injection pump to the motor wich makes me think the injection pump is bad but can’t find one nowhere or not a rebuilt kit any help would be appreciated.

      Hahahah I like the sound of that! To be honest, I don’t mind how I roll now plus not sure I have the ceiling clearance. One day though, maybe I’ll move shops and get a hoist, but for now this works!! Thanks for the continued support, I really appreciate the watch! Cheers

    I'd rather see the air filter in the rain tray rather than right behind a rad fan, otherwise it's looking good.
