That's true, through such docs we can learn about the past, know what happened elsewhere thereby avoiding such from happening to us and the future generations who might come across them(docs) too.
We should NEVER stop talking about this. I’m 38 and until recently, I didn’t know very much about the Rwandan genocide. These atrocities should be taught about, at length, in every school across the world. Along with the reality of what my ancestors did to the native people of my country.
As an African this doc brought me into tears I respect both ethnic groups to leaving the pass behind and work together for better Rwanda and Africa at large Thank you my brothers and sisters of Rwanda Kigali my second home✌✌
I watched the movie about what happened in your country, till today it's still one of the saddest thing I've seen. Good to see Rwanda doing great now, your country is arguably the best place to live at the moment in the entire Africa. Hope you guys maintain the peace and continue living as one. Regardless of tribe, religion or whatever we're all humans. GOD BLESS US!
judging about history, It's about time that nations of color around the world, start classifying the whit man, as a threat to nations of color wellbeing, freedom life, and liberty.
I came late from our football match an area 20km from our area, it was about 12am when we dispersed from my team mates , as I walked towards home ,I met 3 policemen who stopped me and asked where I came from, after telling them and showing them my football kits full of sweat, they were very happy even asked how many goals we scored and then told me to go home, football is really Loved by every one
You remind me as a football fan,I went to watch the first match of the 1990 world cup where Cameroon beat Maradona hahaha! We were stopped by policemen but when we told them about Africa's win,we were left to go home. They were also happy.
I get forgiving people, but I can’t wrap my head around the perpetrators walking away Scott free after what they did. It’s unreal and so unfair and injust.
The problem can be that those you call perpatrators may see you as a perpatrator too and they may be wrong but most of the time they say nothing. The truth is that tutsi relatives were killed during rhe genocide against the tutsi , but what you call perpetrators because they are from the hutu people that is wrong. I guess one hutu may have killed up to 100 tutsi, but it is hard to believe that 100 hutus killed one tutsi. Do simple calculations and show how 5Million hutu killed 600,000 tutsi( numbers are estimation from statistics and censor outcome of that time). Why should all hutu be called perpetrators? 100 000 hutus may have been involved in the killings of 600K tutsi. What about hutus who claimed to have lost their relatives because they were accused of supporting tutsi fighters? Who are they going to blame as perpatrators? If people can stop to hate each other, based on their ethinic group, reconciliation can be quickly established? But who wants reconciliation? Likely no one. Hate and retaliation will never end in those two communities.
The people of East Congo will disagree with the comments about how stable and good Rwanda is now. What happened in Rwanda was beyond my imagination and comprehension. Yet, for Congo, Rwanda , China, US UK are not innocent in what is happening there now. Another genocide you don’t hear in the news . Why...It’s resources. When will Africa be free of the pain, suffering and tribalism that divides her and allows such horror. 😞
@@okaymea the DRC became a safe haven for the hutu extremists so Rwanda invaded and many massacered hutu refugees killing 200,000 and over throwing the DRC awful dictatorship twice

The French colonialists , as did did the British, pursued a policy of “divide and rule”,that created deep fissures and antipathy between tribes and ethnicities that had coexisted side by side for centuries or more . While winding down their colonial enterprise , under force of circumstances , they contrived to leave behind a set up , manned by their ‘dependable’, local collaborators , who would continue to watch over the ‘interests’ of their erstwhile masters . However the toxic ,divisive , legacies left behind by the colonialists remained in place and even morphed into multiple expressions of mutual mistrust and hatred .The rapid accretion of real or perceived grievances was bound to act as a detonator for a gruesome and bloody carnage that the Rwandan genocide is . In this tragic backdrop, the role of the French state/government remains highly suspect and blameworthy . As former colonialists they were morally bound to play their part in defusing tensions, which they themselves had created . With a large diplomatic mission and a sizeable military presence in the wider region , it is inconceivable that they did not have ,even an inkling , of the trouble as it was brewing up . That they gave scarce attention to that ominous possibility and even failed to intervene when the killings were going on is a bruising indictment of their role in this most sordid episode of history .
Thy will remember for ever!! People still suffring the lost of there parents alse or children. A friend of may mother still suffring and crying to day. 4 small of her children killed front of her. Imaging ur baby was taking by forced then smashed in the Wall
The people saying we shouldn’t be reminded are completely wrong. We must always remember so we learn never to do it again.

I want to visit Rwanda. A few years ago, I met a Rwandan lady and she didn't want to talk about the genocide too. I feel their pain.
It's not Rwandan genocide it's Genocide against Tutsi in 1994
This is incredibly sad, not many words can be said about this. This testimony brings out thousands of emotions one never thought they had.

People can be wiped out in a country and the world will be silent. They'll do nothing but only condemn.
I sometimes feel like a Genocide is loading in my country.... GOD help us all.
Loading? Genocide has been happening in Ethiopia for decades. Amharas were brutalized under TPLF and now the Oromo dominated government.
That was one of the darkest chapters of the Rwandan Community and the world as whole. You don't kill but develop your citizens!
Sad story. Tears in my eyes
I don’t understand how someone can kill another person. Thank the good lord I’ve never had to feel the horror the people felt.

Is this man Hutu?
These people were leaving peacefully until the Europeans came too bad they were divided by tribalism
You Hutu or Tutsi mate?
Good documentary. But stop wearing Arsenal gear of you want to be a winner
I dont know the intention of bringing this now. People have passed those days dont remind them.
There could be people out there who could want to know what happened since its part of the history
And people need to be reminded so they know what not to do again.
