I want to work in Research and Development. I just finished a bachelor's degree in chemistry. *Cross-fingers that I will be a researcher like you soon, even though it feels impossible and seems so hard. You inspire and motivate me a lot.
Hi, I am pleased to stumble upon ur channel. This is my second year of PhD in microbial secondary metabolites mainly actinomycetes. Very similar to what you’ve done. My lab is in Prague, but the lab has been under construction for my first year and now the LC-MS just broke. I have too many experiments to analyse their results. I am honestly thinking of moving to another lab. Do you currently have available PhD positions?
Hey! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having so many problems. Get in contact with Marcel Jaspars at the Marine Biodiscovery Centre (you will find his email on the university of Aberdeen website) and perhaps there is something available. Good luck!
I was thinking about switching careers from computing to synthetic biology and got accepted for a course but not sure if should take the leap. What would you say the amount of time you spend on experiments vs writing grants and analysing data is? For me the biggest appeal is lab work as right now I have to be looking at a screen every day, but it seems that data analysis takes up so much time I'm not sure it would be much different
Because of corona, 3 years and 8 months. I was originally funded for 3.5 years but managed to get a 3 month extension because of missed lab time due to corona

Hi! It depends on what type of research you are doing really… for example in my PhD it was about 75% lab work and 25% data analysis
One more question, how long did it take u to finish ur PhD?
Because of corona, 3 years and 8 months. I was originally funded for 3.5 years but managed to get a 3 month extension because of missed lab time due to corona
@@drjessicagomezb 3.5 years is a record fast PhD. Well done!!
@baraajad8484 thank you!!
@@baraajad8484Hello madam

Hey! If you search for my researchgate page - Jessica Gomez-Banderas then you should find my papers :) I hope they are useful and best of luck!!
i found it and boomm i'm making a research proposal on it. i've worked on natural products derived from plants. wish me good luck

Thanks for cordial response
feel upset, research works always earn less.
I can’t comment on research in industry but research in academia isn’t the best paying unfortunately
