Omg how sad . I just subd to Louis's channel after seeing a great tips on blind baking ready made pastry. Brilliant. I didn't know who he was.. Great British bake off series 5 . He had sadly passed in October 2020 due to oseophagal cancer returning. So sad. Thank you for passing on your help and knowledge to the inexperienced cooks like myself out there.
I remember Louis from bakeoff. I just literally came across his bakewell tart recipe and subscribed, I'm so sad to hear he's passed, he had a lovely teaching style and was a great baker 😔
Hi. If you check out my video on how to blind bake a pastry case that should solve your leaky problems. Then watch the egg custard video and you will see the pastry case holding tight. Thanks for getting in touch.
@@Flyingluis i did use that accually and the pastry was really good but when i cut into it a lot of syrup leaked out. But the pastry was crisp. Any ideas why?
@@Adilzzzzzz any syrup is likely a split filling mix. If the syrup was sweet then it's likely high in sugar which is why the pastry stayed crisp. Maybe try a different lemon meringue recipe such as maybe the BBC good food one?
Hi Luis. Couple of things! one - it would be really helpful to include the ingredients in the comments as well. 2 - you say 'we add some cornflour' with the cream cheese and sugar AFTER you've made the cheesecake and put it in the oven! Probably useful to tell people to add it at the relevant point... Looking forward to seeing how it turns out, have added the cornflour in last... oops. Thanks so much
