I'm so glad that you decided to move the bed downstairs near the baby. I was worried about you being sleep deprived and accidentally falling down the stairs. The new layout looks great!
As somebody who has had to live in a studio, and now a camper, it makes me so happy to see this. So many tiny house are impractical and “look” nice but are NOT functional for day to day living. This one is, it makes me really happy. So often saying eff it to having a traditional living room and just using the space for YOUR needs is what makes these work. Love it.
As soon as I saw this video I imagined this layout! As a mum of 3 year old twin boys, having your own space when you need a moment or an evening to yourself, the seperate spaces will be so lovely for you both! Sending lots of love to you 3 ❤️
Have you ever thought of adding two rooms to your house? One master and one for the kid when he is older! So you could have a big livingroom/diningroom/playroom where you placed the bed now.
That’s a good idea but kinda defeats the purpose of the “tiny house” thing, I think. They seem to really enjoy their tiny home living, but perhaps they will outgrow it once the baby is older (and possibly has some siblings.)
@@laurabee9788 i mean the purpose of this house was to not pay 12k a year of rent so i don’t think adding on to it would “defeat the purpose” it would still be a small house
@@c5689 in most places it would increase their property tax a decent amount though My parents put on an addition and they built up because building out was going to make their payments too high.
I love what you did! I feel like it’s going to be so much easier with baby. I love how cozy the loft is now. Like a perfect place to unwind while the baby is sleeping downstairs. You can easily hear and see baby.
Remember to save space on your babies storage shelf for diapers/wipes/burp cloths a few basic clothing pieces ..not just toys & books. I love your house hopefully my husband and I with our kids will be going “tiny” very soon.
if i understood correctly, that's what the storage under the bed will be for, once her clothes move back in the loft. but, yep when she said diapers etc. can go into the kitchen table, that's helpful, but babies need so much stuff ;D a logistic challenge in a tiny house... more like a puzzle game 😅
Having a small one floor home for having a newborn is a blessing , especially how you have it set up . Having dad naturally in the kitchen working and in arm's reach for whatever you Hollar for will be a bonus.suchba sweet home . Please please bar off loft even if your child who is 3-12+ is up there and makes one clumsy move playing it could be devastating . Just use decorative bars or wood and frame in a design anything that not even a head could get stuck in ... Beautiful home
I think this is a wayyyyy better arrangement! ❤️🔥😍Your house looks bigger and better. The loft space also looks spacious. I love the ground area and how you did it. We'll done 😍👌
Looks Great ! Much safer and more practical with your bed and baby area, on the main floor next to the bathroom.for the first few years. Can you move the big desk upstairs too, where the tv is? I think you might like the work desk, computer, art supplies in the loft area , as a “ bonus living area “ ? Move your clothes closet in the hallway coffee area , and set up a coffee area in your kitchen ? This way all your clothing is in a more convenient area, when putting laundry away and for getting dressed. Save up for a spiral staircase, with safety railing at the top of the loft. Just some simple ideas to think about. You have an adorable, clean & creative home ! Congratulations on your new baby boy !
*I’m so excited! I got worried if your water broke in the middle of the night why you were in the loft, because it would be hard to get out. So I’m glad to see the updates!*
I like it so much better with the bed downstairs. I was so worried about you climbing up and down those stairs being pregnant. It looks awesome!!! Great job guys.
Ah, funny. I said you should put the bed downstairs on your first video. The only thing I would suggest is that you get rid of the blue chair downstairs and trade it in for a comfy rocker.
I love how y’all arranged everything! I have a new baby and it’s so nice to have most of his stuff in our bedroom for easy access:)! I’m excited for y’all:).
Being 7 months postpartum! Definitely hung out mostly in the bedroom baby is in our room we have one bedroom apartment We are also deciding to live In a tiny house only because the cost of rent in a year is literally a tiny home that you can keep:) but one recommendation!! Is trying to add bars or something on the loft bc once baby starts moving around the last thing you'd want is if the baby fell off
So glad you guys figured out a way of being downstairs with baby - mine is 7 months now and I just knew by the end of pregnancy and when baba arrived you wouldn’t want to be handling the ladder to the loft all the time. How you have it looks so good and well planned! My only other bit of advice for you with baby in tiny house is as they grow out of clothes you will need to keep sorting them out and getting them out of the house as they grow so fast you end up with boxes/bags full of clothes that no longer fit very quickly - and you will have boxes/bags of the next size up ready and waiting - so you end up with three times as many clothes as baby actually needs - the size they just grew out of, the size they are in, and the next size up - so you need to keep on top of that if storage space is at a premium! How are you enjoying the end of your pregnancy? Hope it’s all going well and looking forward to your next video xx
Just a thought. When baby gets older couch my not be safe there. He will easily fall over the back of the couch as he starts climbing. I'm sure you would've figured that out but thought I'd mention it. Great job though. It's all wonderful! Happy parenting!!
...you’ve configured everything so well-looks great...how exciting...loved the dog looking at the camera like “something’s up” as you were moving furniture...happy 2021🤍
Very cute. Please make sure it's safe to use the clip on high chair on that table though. I know the kind you're talking about and that has me worried using it on a folding table if it's not super sturdy. Maybe a Tripp Trapp type chair would work better.
Absolutely love love it! I do think you need a small frame tv downstairs, they literally look like a bigger picture frame, very thin. Right above the sitting area would be just amazing!
Really well done change! I love your tiny house and all the decor! We have also quite a small house with somehow open walls between the floors, you will find out soon yourself, but I can highly recommend to make some “net wall/wooden fence wall” behind the sofa, so you will feel safe for the baby who will very soon start to crawl and jump all over the place and as the upstairs area is such a cosy space, I guess he will be spending time with you up there too. We did a custom made net wall and it works perfectly and still keeps the space open and bright 👍🤞
I think that people should just let them live there life. They both will make amazing loving parents and it shows that they really thought everything through :).
You guys are AMAZING and the house looks AMAZING. You’ll always make it work. I so admire how you hold true to your ideals and passions. Love you three!😘😘
Looking amazing🥰love how tiny homes keep you creative with space Me personally would go for loads of shelving in the downstairs room, sorta works as wall art cause it can be styled and make use of the space especially when you have many books and craft stuff
Have you tried your bed on other walls. Like below the opposite higher window if the stairs don’t need that space? Or even the other wall? Nice fir you to be able to get out easily to your bathroom....fun space to play with! Challenging but fun,
yay! I'm happy that u guys love it!! it looks so great !! especially in ur late pregnancy i bet it's way cozier downstairs with all of that headspace and less crouching + knee-shuffling! i love ur window and roof/ceiling shape!
Great ideas! Congratulations and best wishes on your expanding family! I would try to get the shade cords up out of the baby's reach as he grows. Great job!
It will work perfectly fine. I remember when my son born we use to live on 20 m 2, it was tight but we managed well :) Soon everything will change in your life, try to rest as much as possible now, save your power and energy :)
Great set up. If this is helpful, I wedged a pack n play in between wall and my side of bed that had a bassinet insert that was the size of the whole unit. It left room for diapers and. wipes at one end of insert for night time changes. It should be at arms level from the taller bed. Had to reach up to her to get her out from regular frame height bed
I love your home so much! I can’t remember from the first video I’ll have to go back and watch it, but what is the drop off like behind the couch? Even when they know they are not supposed to, my kids love to climb on the couch, and mine always do a running start to sit on the couch and it’s always scooting all over the floor. I couldn’t remember if there was a knee wall behind it that would stop it from sliding off. Love your family, love your home, God Bless you and your new little miracle 💕
You could move the storage unit from behind the sofa, and use that for books/tv stand. Then you could have a half-height wall in its place to stop the sofa being pushed back :)
It's my first time in the channel. I just came from your first house tour video and this is exactly how I thought you would reorganize the space for the baby. :)
The rearrangement looks great and looks like it will function well. The only thing that would not work for me is that desk in the kitchen. I wouldn't be able to work with that. I would have to get something not as wide and not as deep so that there's more walking room. I've seen a lot of tiny houses where the table is literally a piece of wood hinged to the wall that folds up or down. And then necessary work items are kept in shallow shelves/bins/cubbies affixed to the wall above the table.
My fiancé and I live in a small space and will meet our first baby in 2 months as well! I’ve been rearranging and decorating as well. Your house looks so cozy, love the way you rearranged everything!
It looks so much bigger upstairs I love it and the downstairs looks amazing love the bed you have really thought this all through wisely you would both make brilliant interior designers x love everything thanks for sharing x

Great space downstairs. Like a little bedsit with bed room, dining room and small living area in the corner. Enjoy.
I loooove the lounge in the loft, feels so cosy!
When he’s older you could totally make the loft a living room and play room! Just be careful with him on the steps. I’d love that as a little kid!
Such a creative use of space!! It's inspiring even for those of us with larger houses. Thanks for sharing
