Here is Dire Straits cover, Private investigations but on Electric Guitar (Unfortunately I don't have a classical guitar so.. ) With my Fender Stratocaster from 1993.

Oui c’est clair, quand on veut étudier le style d’un grand peintre, d’un grand sculpteur, d’un grand musicien, il faut commencer par marcher dans ses traces..
En étudiant Léonard de Vinci il ne viendrait à l’idée de personne de revisiter la Joconde (du moins je l’espère 😳)

Je n’ai pas d’ampli, j’enregistre tout en effet numérique, j’utilise le logiciel Amplitude sur PC.
Un peu de Delay, de Reverb et de Compressor et c’est tout.
Le reste c’est le son de la Strat 👍

Not my cup of tea I am afraid as you are just copying the original using strat instead of classical guitar. In my opinion the only reason to do any cover would be to do it your own way, sometimes it demands putting the song topsy-turvy or changing arrangements, mood, tempo etc so that the new value and quality would appear rather than just playing all the same

It's a style study, you have to copy, analyze a style in order to appropriate it.
What interests me here is Mark Knopfler's right hand style, the Knopfler's Style. How to study his right hand style without copying what he plays.
Besides, I don't see anything to change here, sometimes some people hide behind a so-called "improvisation my way" to hide their laziness and lack of work to learn even the chords of a song.
I improvise when I think about bringing something new. Anyway I'm glad someone who dislike left their comment as to why.
