Wow! I am blown away by this one. I used to think the Debussy violin sonata was hard to put across, but not after this performance. Pogostkina digs deep into her Strad, and Ducros is no less searching on the piano; the two are ideal partners, and their sound and videography are gorgeous.
Thank you for your kind comment!
O.h , what a breathe-taking ,marvelous performance !
Little did the people at this recital know that they were about to hear perhaps the best performance of this work ever recorded.
this channel is solid gold. Sound recording is astounishing.
savelieff arnaud I tried finding similar sonatas but had to come back to this because of the sound quality
Cant agree more superb recording
This is, unquestionably, the best performance I've seen and heard of Debussy's violin sonata. I own roughly ten recordings of Debussy's last major piece and not one of them touches this. Pogostkina and Ducros thoroughly and intensely reveal the genius of the composition. Astounding!
absolutamente de acuerdo
Personally I prefer David Oistrakh's interpretation, but there isn't any high quality audio recordings of it
Davis, I can nothing but agree.
I'd be very interested in your opinion of the live performance of this sonata performed by Jascha Heifetz, in South Africa in 1951. It's part of a recital.
You must listen someone master maybe..
This is the best pianist I've heard for this piece so far.
So true, Jérome Ducros!
Jérôme Ducros on piano is worthy a whole bunch of compliments for his playing!
Beautiful playing by a beautiful lady. Alina Pogostkina is so good in interpreting Debussy in this.
Debussy spent many hours in the Javanese kampong during 1889 in Paris Universal Exposition listening to the complexities of gamelan music. I can so clearly imagine that situation when I listen this masterpiece.
very impressive performance and truly great partnership , what a delight! and if thats not enough: a perfect recording, great balance of violin and piano
Beautiful performance in an equally beautiful setting!
Very beautiful, very fine playing by both musicians
Masterful, exquisite, such wonderful poise and expression!
Fabulous! Debussy's sonata is here, modern, without the cobwebs. Bravo for both musicians but Alina's performance is outstanding. She capts sounds which take us back to Debussy's primeval nature.
0:02 1st movement
5:00 2nd movement
9:11 3rd movement
Alina Pogostkina sounds so wonderful!
Beautiful
both are playing for all those who built the place, its art too ,they deserve recognition.
AMAZING! For a long long time I haven't found a performace such awesome like that. Bravi.
Brilliant performance, bravo both violinst and pianist!
Beautiful piece and performance. Thanks so much for the upload
What a beauty she is
Collaborative sheer genius. Both share an awareness of celebratory delight as their respective talents come to fruition in this special performance.
Stunning and feels like heaven
ducros and pogostkina are amazing. alina is wonderful to listen to and to watch too.
Even though the setting is not the ideal one to match up with the music the performance is so GOOD it stands out - that even the saints get into the Debussy groove
this is a masterpiece thanks for sharing
Very nice duo...
Bravissimo 😀
Bravissimo !
What a beautiful.music... love it ❤🎶
Absolutely what clarity what controlled expressiveness.
This is perfection 😍😍😍😍😍 the piece itself is perfect, but the performance is otherwordly 🌺🧚🏻♀️
I hold this as Debussys best composition, not regarding the orchestral works. And in this wonderful sonata I find Alina Pogostkina and Jerome Ducros the best suited to make this sonata come into full bloom.
I don't know music but this is perfection
Marvelous
So good!
Debussy merveilleusement servi !
I dont know why but the colour and your dress fit so well to debussy and the sonata...very well played! 👏

Absolutely gorgeous in every respect.

People who disliked it do not know music! This is perfection
Wonderful performance, up there with Ginette Neveu - and that is saying something.
Awesome!!!
very good ~~~~!!!
Whoever put ads this way needs to fix it.
Divina combinatie :violin si piano.Nici la asta nu m am gandit
Brillante dúo de intérpretes.-
Wow, this is very close to Midori's interpretation. Love it!
Possibly they are violinists n being jealous, that's why they put their thumbs down n may be they don't fit themselves to perform like such
This video has the most amount of ads I’ve ever experienced on a video
10:37-11:20 makes me lose my balance from the joy!
Claude Debussy: Violin Sonata / Alina Pogostkina, Jérôme Ducros

Wonderful music. But Debussy in a church ?

They have a microphone problem. We don't want to hear her breathing...
Too much emotions
