Ben, this is a great demo but I'm having trouble because some of the prompts have changed or are different in the pro version. I figured out the detach from background prompt is under the Edit Video button now, so did that but I don't have the "set video as background" option when I right click on the b-roll. HELP!
I wondered how to make the audio going and this is a neat trick. I'm yet to learn if Canva will be my way to go or not. I've not had much editing experience, but still some in old style tools. Canva seems to make the editing much faster, intuitive and accessible, though some easy things from other tools perspective seem impossible and require hacks like this.
This looks super easy, but my video does not have breaks like the example you're showing (no "+" between "scenes"). It's one long video. How do I get the breaks to add the B-roll to my video?
You play your video to the spot you want to add B-Roll, right-click on the video in the timeline and choose split video. Here's a video from another UA-cam channel that walks through that: ua-cam.com/video/AlrC-XaKwew/v-deo.html
If you are having trouble copying and pasting the video like I did in this video, you can simply drag your B-Roll video onto the canvas. Here's a video that walks you through that: ua-cam.com/video/AlrC-XaKwew/v-deo.html
So when I copy and past the b-roll video onto the a-roll, it just creates a duplicate of the b-roll to the right of the a-roll instead of overlaying it. Ideas?
I would make sure you "detach video from background" for both videos (a-roll and b-roll) before copying/pasting your b-roll video into the new scene with your a-roll video. I've seen this be a little buggy if you keep the original a-roll video as the background video like in my video when you copy in your b-roll video to the scene.
@@benmcmann9908 Thanks but when I click on the a-roll or b-roll and the little dots to the right to give me options, there is no option to detach video from background.

Interesting
I don't think this works anymore in the Pro version.

Do I need pro canva for this edit?
To make the edit, I do not believe you do.
Why don't canva just add b roll lane. So dumb
thanks bro for your help
