Hangover 1: Best of the series! 8/10 Hangover 2: Hilarious, but why mean-spirited at times?! (least favorite of the bunch) 7/10 Hangover 3: Better change of story, but no hangover?! 7/10
I personally wouldn't mind if they did the same get drunk wake up and find out what happened plot again, i actually like it cause there's always a twist and its just so much fun watching what happened how it all ends up and seeing everything they went threw
Yeah, because that's kind of what they did. While the credit was Rolling they showed the actual type of movie that it was about before. I like that better.
The brilliance of the 3rd movie is that in essence it is still a relevant Hangover film despite not having anyone actually “hungover” in the movie. Reason being is because the wolf pack are dealing with the repercussions of their actions from the first ever Hangovers.
The Hangover: Great comedy, funny, entertaining, original The Hangover Part II: Just the same shit made for money. The Hangover Part III: They knew they couldn't do the same shit again so they thought they'd just throw the characters we love into a random comedy adventure for money. And they thought we'd love it because we loved these characters from the first two and wouldn't care what context we saw these characters in again. However in doing that, they ruined the best character. So they pretty much fucked up every chance they had to make a good third film right there. The End
there actually was a hangover in the 3rd movie. it just didn't happen until the end credits. that scene was hilarious. probably the funniest part of the whole movie. But yes, I think the 3rd Hangover was done better than the 2nd Hangover.
they didn't really change allen. because in the previous movies, most of allens interactions where with the wolf pack. but he has a different side to his own family.
My rates The Hangover: 10/10 The Hangover part 2: 6/10 (I might be too harsh tho because when I watched it I wasn't in the mood for anything, but I will give it another try) The Hangover part 3: 10/10 I personally thought this movie was just as funny as the first one. Btw this movie did have a hangover part but I don't want to spoil it and tell you guys when it happens.
the hangover 3 didn't struggle its way into theaters, it was made by a major studio and was probably scheduled for a certain date of release, and the effort put into it was probably the same amount as other generic blockbuster sequels, a movie that is made by people with their own time and money is when effort can really shine.
I watched the trilogy backwards, not intentionally of course, but for that reason I honestly remember enjoying the third one the most. But I have a feeling if I watched them in the correct order I would have a different opinion.
The after credits scene doesn't make sense with the ending. The ending shows Alan finally ending things with Chow(sorry if I misspelled that). And then after that he accepts a cake from him? It just doesn't add up
He did wait for the credits to roll because there's a reason for III to take a break from the other movies. Wait towards the end , it's a big setup for the 4th installment which goes back to how the first one was.
If someone is off their meds it's understandable and not unbelievable it changes them so what the hell is he talking about he changed. no shit lol 🤦♀️
i theorize that calling this movie the hangover was somewhat metaphorical. since hangover is the lingering effects of getting wasted these characters were still suffering from the effects of the past 2 movies, so the title is still relevant. which explains the deviation from assumed premise of the franchise
You're right Jeremy in saying that Hangover 1 is absolutely the best of the three. Hangover 2 worked for me (notice I say "worked for me" rather than "I really liked") because I'm invested with the characters, but I really think Hangover 2 is the weakest of the three flicks. So Hangover 3 nestles right in the middle, it doesn't reach the top but it surpasses the sequel. I would have liked to have seen more consequence, more cause & effect to the guys' actions, but, I really enjoyed Hangover 3.
***** Well how does Home Alone 2 not feel like a rehash of Home Alone 1? They share the same exact story, slapstick and characters. The location is the only thing different
I've never considered myself tough; but I've been told that I can be, sometime unintentionally intimidating. Plus I never really give second thought to most comments I send, because I don't take them, or other comments on youtube seriously. It seems people are insulted or annoyed by the slightest thing. Plus I learned long ago, and this is advice from one stranger to another, I never tell people to not fuck with me, I show them why, through action, trust me you will save yourself a world
I'd have to say The Hangover III was better than The Hangover II, but simply because, I'm quite sure everyone who agrees with me has the same reason, Part II was the Exact same story but put in a different setting. Part III was it's own original idea.
I would have to say...3; i mean i love all 3 of the hangover movies because of its story, characters and camera shots, but somehow it felt like the 3rd movie showed some transitions with the characters after the 2nd movie and how they change in this final chapter in the movie. Plus who doesn't like see more of Chow and his shenanigans?
I did it... once. Once many years ago, in elementary school. I toiled for hour on that game. I learned it all, inside and out. I could come close but never quite make it down the last river level. Until one day, it all changed. His name was Jeremiah Butthole. His journey was a harsh one, losing his wife and second son. Then, it happened, the river level. I focused all of my energy until I became Jeremiah Butthole. I dodged rocks like some bat out of hell. Then, it happened, I won.
there WAS a hangover in PART III.. it' was after credits and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny I almost peed myself.. so at some point the whole movie was just a story (a crazy story) that lead to a hangover PART III... I mean, after the credits scene, man.. it was JUST ABSOLUTELY FREAKING AMAZING!
All of those films you named are very vague. They have titles that can explore a large scale of different subjects within the movie. "The Hangover" is a very specific title and sense the first two films used the title quite literally it would only make sense to make the third movie the same way.
this one was my favorite to be honest i loved the first one one of my favorite comedies ever 2nd sucked this one was pretty funny and had the best storyline out of all of em and was way different i loved this movie
me too. as matter of fact i like each matrix movie more than the previous one. the trilogy was a nice build up toward the end. do you people who bitched about the last 2 installments really prefered the trilogy went more arthouse toward the end?
This was by far my number 1 worst movie of 2013 it was lazy and boring as hell and had no laughs along with its sad and depressing elements what a waste of time this is pure garbage, Movie 43 was bad but this was by far one of the worst movies I've ever seen and yes I actually did walk out of it in the first 20 minutes because I either died of boredom or depression what a lame excuse for a movie
Just saw it last night and although I enjoyed the sequels, "The Hangover" screams stand-alone film more so than most movies with the plotline that brought to film. And it is very strange how people hated part 2 because it was a carbon copy sequel and hated part 3 because it was different. Says alot about the human race. But if I had to give a rating to the sequels, theyd both get the same rating: NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST ONE
I personally enjoyed Hangover 3 over 2. I like that they didn't just do the same thing, and I like how they concluded the trilogy. I like to think of it as closure. I didn't feel like not having them pass out and try to remember what happened the night before was such a big deal. I liked how they put more focus on Chao too since he was pretty much the funniest character besides Alan. Thinking back on the movie I do think they could have given Alan better lines. I would watch it again.
+billy jon depends how you view it. as a hangover film thats meant to be a comedy its a massive disappointment, as an action thriller it;s not bad, though not very engaging, ken jeong's character has gone from quite funny in the first one to just 'seen it all before' n boring in this one
+billy jon i think he should've went you won't remember it in t-minus 1 hour, because i watched this movie 2 years ago, then 2 days later i was forced into watching it again and the only memorable and funny scene was the funeral
Personally I liked 3 the most because Alan was a huge focus. He stole the show in the first hangover and hardly had a part in the second. I understand the humor so well in this movie that I caught myself laughing throughout the entire thing. I honestly liked the change of pace with an interesting twist in the story
i understand ur point about having to adapt and not be repetitive but u still have to keep the same element to it, thus them having a hangover, its like them doing iron man 3 but without suit doesnt make any sense
Jeremy ur so spot ON i was just about to say that the Hangover series is like the matrix trilogy the first movie was much more of a solid film and the other two weren't that good
Hi Jeremy, The Hangover 3 just came on Irish Netflix and I gave it a watch, I have to say that it is really funny and keeps up with the surprise comedic moments the other two movies had. One thing that the movie does better at than the others is that it is shot a whole lot better than the others, especially when it comes to table top conversations, they are absolutely stunning shots. That's all I have to say
SPOILERS BELOW Mentioned this earlier but 1. Were they saying that Alan didn't need his meds after all? Or did he start taking them again? Didn't get that part 2. Why did they have Alan say he was the kid's father and not bring it up again? It wasn't needed.
i think they changed the third one because so SO many people complained that the 2nd one was "just a rip off/copy" of the original. but that doesnt make sense because its called "THE HANGOVER"
Here is what I think: 1. The Hangover, no question 2. The Hangover Part III 3. The Hangover Part II I'm putting the first sequel to the last place because it had some funny jokes in it but you could guess all the twists and turns. I didn't like it but I didn't hate it either. The Hangover III was good and the changed plot was a very good change. The first one is the best, no question, because it was so funny and so intellegent. Go watch it.
3 Easily... I feel that it made up for number 2 and the way it came full circle (like Phil's line to Stew about being a doctor, the incorporation of number 1 in the whole plot and the final walk at the end) and it was a good way to end it all
Haven't seen it myself, but the way you described it is exactly what i'm thinking was going on. it's like, damned if you do, damned if you don't: can't be the same thing over again, but can't deviant from things that characters are known for, since that's not "development" as they might think. but this is Hangover 3 we're talking about, so I don't think these characters should have went beyond the first movie anyway, not enough depth for that, only a cash-grab comes to mind.
Just saw it, and I have to say, I liked it. I'd give it a strong "Good Time no Alcohol Required", the first (being my favorite) "Awesometacular", and agree on the 2nd one... just not as memorable and not as good as the first or third.
1 was my favorite, 2 is practically one of my least favorite movies of all time, and 3 was such a huge comeback so personally I think 3 is far more interesting than 2!
I enjoyed 2 more than 3. I enjoy the Hangover formula so long as they do it well, and they did it well in that movie. I didn't mind the departure so much in the third, but the Allen-and-Chow-centric story line kind of made it silly and removed what made them endearing in the first and second movies. They tried to milk them in the third for all they are worth, but that ended up not going so well for me, perhaps due to poor execution.
I loved part 3. The first one was epic. The second one was okay. But I really liked 3 because they didn't black out again, it's a different story which I liked. It was fun.
I also didn't like what they did to Alan's character, though I did enjoy the adventure, it was a bit weird in the sense they never truly got hungover until the clip after the credits :?
First is still the best (duh), but I had a ton of fun watching Part 3, so Part 3 for me. Also just curious Jeremy, did you stick around for the after credits scene, and if so what did yah think?
I think the point of all the "Hangover" movies is to be extremely hammered when watching all 3 movies so you don't remember anything that happened in each of the movies. In other words, it's a series made to be forgotten. (Well, except for the very 1st Hangover movie; best and only movie of the series that should exist). :P
Hangover 3 was fine. I didnt expect it to be like the first two and was happy when it wasnt. It was more action heist mystery with a side of comedy thrown in. I bought into allens charecter I thought it was good too. Hangover 3 was a great way to end the series. And a good interesting amusing movie
I've never connected more with one of Jeremy's rants more than this one about Oregon Trail from elementary school. I NEVER saw one person beat that game. Also, I just discovered I'm an asshole because I told everyone not to go see this movie because I assumed it was going to be exact same as the other two. Sounds like it wasn't good anyway, but that was a faulty assumption on my part. Kudos to them for at least taking a storytelling risk. And thanks to Jeremy's review for correcting me.
It's still a hangover because you have events happenening that are "Left over" from the other movies, things happened from the other movies that led up to this.
I feel like the second one didn't even have to exist, and that the third was better than the second. Sure, the second one was good but I feel like how they went back to the original with Vegas and stuff was a pretty good idea. A trilogy is typically more exciting than just two movies anyway.
I agree The Hangover is like the Matrix in some respect.....but we have completely different thoughts on the Matrix Jeremy..... glad you can enjoy them though. ( I think I should also point out that Hangover III is the one I disliked the least of the trilogy, but thats my opinion)
Actually Jeremy I enjoyed the 2nd one the most out over 1 (haven't seen 3 yet) idk if its the setting of the movie or what I just found the first one kinda bland idk I just can't sit through it after the first little bit but that's my opinion so don't hate
I went to see The Hangover I after all my friends so it kind lost plenty of its charm. I knew all the good jokes because everybody kept talking about it. That's why when I saw the Hangover II in it's premier, I enjoyed more than the first one. Flawed movie, I know. But not being able to predict the jokes is a big plus
I think part 3 seemed weaker because it spent more time tying all of the storylines from the two previous movies together. We're used to it just being comedy, and the typical "wake up the next morning not knowing where you are and someone's missing" plot. But, this time the director extended the shenanigans into bigger consequences, which is what they dealt with in part 3.
Umm im not judging your video and the way you judge but did you wait until the very end rewarch because i dont want to ruin the part that has a hangover
I like the plot of Hangover III. But the rest of the movie is just bad. But if I can choose which Hangover sequel I like I would pick the third one. Because it’s not the same movie like Hangover II.
Movie critics seem to unanimously dislike this movie, but I actually find it fun and simplistically entertaining. I don't see the reason why people love Hangover 1 to death and almost tear this one up.
You know the hangover series is one of those that if you didn't like the first then why would you watch the next? it was a very fitting way to finish the series. And as i would say to anyone don't always listen to reviews.
I agree and disagree about the non hangover in it. The thing is people bitched about how similar part two was then they mixed it up with three and complaining that there's no hangover? Make your minds. How about this:: Mix the third and first together. Have it where they meet Chow get totally drunk steal Marshell's money they pass out Chow's gone they kidnap Doug, the Wolf Pack does goes finds Chow like in the 3rd.
There was a hangover scene after the credits which was the best part of the movie imo
Hangover 1 -absolute perfection
Hangover 2 - hilarious
Hangover 3 - very funny and enjoyable BUT Alan...hated what they did with him...
Alan became uber spoiled rich kid. Also Doug is the damsel in distress.
Hangover 1: Best of the series! 8/10
Hangover 2: Hilarious, but why mean-spirited at times?! (least favorite of the bunch) 7/10
Hangover 3: Better change of story, but no hangover?! 7/10

I'm gonna get a ton of hate, but I absolutely love all three movies.
I love the first 2. I need to give the third a better chance. I was expecting way too much out of it.
I agree, its a fun trilogy. Although I see what he's saying about Alan's Character. Why would they change him
I live the first 1, and the other 2 are alright. I respect ur opinion though.
Same
Mitchell Marshall same he just doesn’t enjoy himself
I like all 3 hangovers .... 1st one is a classic ... 2nd and 3rd r good 8/10 ... nothing will beat the 1st hangover ....love all 3 tho
The brilliance of the 3rd movie is that in essence it is still a relevant Hangover film despite not having anyone actually “hungover” in the movie. Reason being is because the wolf pack are dealing with the repercussions of their actions from the first ever Hangovers.

I don’t agree, personally I loved part 3 for the characters

I actually prefer Hangover 3 over Hangover 2, because it does something different and because the ending climax is funny.

BIG SPOILER WARNING:
This is why you stay DURING/AFTER credits...
There is a Hangover scene at that part
Wedding scene is all I have to say.
I gotta say that I liked this one the best out of all of them. In order of least to greatest for me...
1.) Part III
2.) Part I
3.) Part II
Haven't seen none of them BUT imma start seeing them NOW!
The dysentery rant in the middle of the review was so randomly hilarious.
I love it when people mention Oregon Trail. Memories... I wonder what today's youth would think about that game.
LMAO!!! The Oregon Trail... I just fell out
I feel like the second one didn't even have to exist, and that the third was better than the second. Sure, the second one was good but I feel like how they went back to the original with Vegas and stuff was a pretty good idea. A trilogy is typically more exciting than just two movies anyway.
I could be wrong, but doesn't the full stop only go inside of the quotation marks if the whole sentence is a quote?
Please do reviews of actors/actresses, I'd like to see what you think of Zack
The sequence where Chow jumps from Ceasar is like that mission from GTA San Andreas.
Love the Oregon Trail tie on....freakin hilarious!
Oregon Trail will steal your soul.... and a good 90 minute keyboarding class in middle school.
I like the plot of Hangover III.
But the rest of the movie is just bad.
But if I can choose which Hangover sequel I like I would pick the third one.
Because it’s not the same movie like Hangover II.
I am going to watch it soon!
Thanks for the review
Movie critics seem to unanimously dislike this movie, but I actually find it fun and simplistically entertaining. I don't see the reason why people love Hangover 1 to death and almost tear this one up.
My friend told me that there was an after credits scene where they got hungover at Alan's wedding.
