In this video, Stephen breaks down one of his favourite routines, which is guaranteed to improve cue ball control, as well as potting. The fact he puts in his misses and doesn’t edit them out speak volumes of the man
He was absolutely ruthless as a player, a commentator and now he’s ruthless about himself 😂
@@tomk5066 plus, he has absolutely nothing left to prove. The man is a legend 😁
@@steveharrington82 yeah that too. When you’ve achieved what he has, you can say whatever you like tbh
Yeah, there's almost a resignation when he missed whereas at his peak, he'd have fuming with himself. Top man 👏🏽
I think the very best never let up on themselves, hence they put in the work needed to be a great player.
The best thing about this, at least for me, was you showing your misses. We all do it, and it's nice to know the best can still get ot wrong occasionally
More often than not. Good effort on the tough table matey.
@@arama0010 cheers, I really enjoyed that challenge 👍🏻
I never saw his Mrs was she there
Lots of respect to the legend. I haven’t had this amount of respect towards him until now. No editing no nothing. He misses and he continues. Respect ❤
Bingo!
Just love how humble he is when he misses. If he can shut up and carry on with reset, everyone should.
Agree. Whereas Barry Stark and Barton Snooker haven’t missed a ball in 4 years lol
@@EVil-ob8in Are you doubting Barton's 80 in the tough table challenge then? ;)
@@musicbro8225 Only he knows 😂
@@EVil-ob8in 😂
@@EVil-ob8inbarry is literally an older fellow with very good tips. Doesn't have to show you misses for his advice to be good
I don’t understand how this channel isn’t into the hundreds of thousands as of now. Free tips from arguably the best snooker player to have lived.
Been following Hendry since early nineties and he was always cool as a cucumber and great temperament. I'm a big fan of Jimmy but have tremendously respect for Hendry for his professionalism and sportsmanship. In this video, he said "when I was good" shows how humble and genuine this man is. Hendry has nothing to proof, he had won everything there is in the game, including our hearts and I will continue to support him. Keep these delightful videos coming! ( Sending my best wishes from Singapore)
Love that he's left the misses in and he's explaining why he missed. Thank you for this tutorial champ 🍺
You're still great Stephen and you always will be. These one on one sessions are invaluable and my favourite of your videos. Thanks for giving us this quality content free of charge
I wish snooker was more popular in the US. I am so addicted to this game, and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to play it out in rural America. Regardless, from you and so many other channels, my pool game has become so much better. Keep up the work, Champ! Love the content
I live in the USA I miss snooker too.
Snooker fans in the States should rally together to open some snooker clubs with decent tables and maybe make some youtube channels etc to gain more fans.
@@AD-kv9kj there are a lot of tables in bigger cities, just out here in the sticks is 7ft barbox 8 and 9 ball mostly. Some 9ft tables but nothing satisfies that itch lol
His attitude and "punishment" is awesome to apply and learn. Free advice from the best. Thanks. I appreciate it.
This is a great channel; the combination of guests, the tough table challenge and this type of tuition video are brilliant. Thanks Stephen!
I could listen to Hendry talk about snooker all day. Brilliant channel!
It was technically "end of break" when he potted the red before the black as he forgot to respot the blue. 😂 I could watch these all day, Stephen. I don't play anymore, but 13/14 year-old me would've absolutely loved these videos. Thanks so much for making these videos. I saw you at the Crucible in your '97 Semi-Final. I was 16 at the time. You were my sporting hero. I'll never foget staying up late to watch you beat O'sullivan in the Liverpool Victoria Charity Challenge tournament with a 147 in the deciding frame! One of the best displays of snooker I've ever witnessed (from both of you). To this day, I'd still pick you over any other player to clear the table when the balls are awkardly positioned, you were an absolute master break-builder. At your best, you were the best of all time.
The final blue that was potted in this video wasn't respotted, glad to see that i'm not the only one who forgets to respot a colour after potting it :) I am loving these videos 😎
"The fact he puts in his misses and doesn’t edit them out speaks
volumes of the man" ... Completely agree. Love your videos Stephen. You are one of the best snooker players the world has produced. Thank you very much.
Best channel for snooker by a country mile! Thank you Stephen!
This is how I practice. Sooo useful and wonderful to have your tips!!! Thankyou Stephen! Love the channel and love what your doing for the sport of snooker with this channel! Keep up amazing work! Thankyou ☺️
I wish I had seen these videos when I first started playing. So helpful. Essential stuff. Thank you.
Much obliged guys, enjoyed that very much, the talk through was top notch.
Great tone, clear instruction and insight. Thanks Stephen.
Great video. Straightforward, clear instructions, insightful sidenotes, and a continuously amazing Stephen Hendry to guide us. I have just found your channel a few weeks ago, and as I was always a big fan, I keep watching your content. Hope there will be many more new videos coming up.
I wish this channel existed back in the early 90s, when I played almost daily. Such awesome tips. Thanks Stephen! (and crew)
Love all your videos. Great work
Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Surely learning from this legend , thank you !!
One of the best competitors of all time. I spent hours and hours of time watching this legend. Happy New year everybody
Love this. Especially love that the misses weren't edited out. Great advice to start again when you miss to counter any complacency on the shots.
This is excellent. I so much appreciate that you are truly focused on people learning from you, what works, what doesn't and to keep going, without making edits. This is gold compared to numerous other 30 seconds videos showing miraculous trick shots where the viewer learns almost nothing.
Brilliant thank you, , , ,i love the cue ball with the striking spot on it, very helpful,
A very great video for learning how to control the cue ball:) Hope to see Stephen can share more tips to us, especially for beginners
What a superb channel, and what a humble man the legend is! Great presentational skills and dedication to the game. Great job Stephen
This is genuinely so good man. I love how you explain why you are stunning, screwing etc and what you hope for the shot.
If you could go into detail about side more that would be amazing. It’s the one shot I am hopeless at, especially trying to straighten the ball up.
If there is another vid of this I’ve missed and some kind soul could point me in the right direction I’d be eternally grateful.
Stephen and team keep up the amazing work!! 🏴
Nice work Stephen. You have a nice way about you that makes learning fun and interesting. Many thanks. Gary.
Thanks so much Stephen, for the willingness to share your wisdom with the world! At some point in the future, I would really love to see a video about how to assess which type of side spin to use to get to certain positions on the table (you gave a small teaser there at 10:50). There are so many factors to consider when using side spin, especially because you can also combine side spin with top spin and back spin, and because the power of your shot affects where you need to aim on the object ball.
These videos are amazing Stephen. Used to play a lot at the Locarno club in Edinburgh, best snooker hall I've played in.
Great video again. I'm taking lots from these and applying in practise every Friday night.
Thank you Stephen, that’s a brilliant video. Really helps when you show what your putting on the cue ball to get the reaction and position
I like the bit when he first missed and said start again. Great lesson in that. Perfect practice makes perfect. Always pushing to be better, never settling for anything less than 100%. Great stuff.
Another great video Stephan liked the bit about de acceleration more on this please 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Well I hardly ever have the problem of complacency creepin' in during snooker practice, so I guess in a way I'm blessed in that sense 😄 Thanks for the great content!
Didn’t make much of this point . But it’s so difficult to going back to the start once you miss. Especially for beginners as you’ll be missing most visits. Frustration creeps in quickly !
These tips are so thoroughly explained and in such a simple way.
So valuable for us average players.
Much appreciated.
Awesome routine & tips; esp potting to middle aiming for far jaw from angle.
Thank you Mr Hendry 🙏 God bless you
Great training session I will try it
Stephen mentioned the poin on the object ball a few times in commentary today at the masters on BBC. It's like he was talking to us, his YT followers and students.
Love these videos and the production quality is great. Much appreciated keep it up 😁
I love the game, and really respect Mr Hendry as one of the greatest - please keep on putting out videos, they are invaluable to people such as myself. - in the miniscule off chance this gets through - Thank you Stephen.
For someone who does'nt have a teacher in snooker, this is the best channel i've seen on UA-cam. 💪👍 Awesome channel. Cheers from 🇵🇹
Credit to Stephen Hendry , what a bloke ✋
these are great videos steve. thanks for sharing your knowledge.
This channel is GOLD. Thank you, Steven!
Awesomely authentic - love the content
Fantastic video. So many different ones that are existing and fun.
I appreciate the honesty. Thank you
Great info on starting again when you miss ,and good that you put the missed shots in too .
Thank you so much for sharing the technique and tips. You are my hero.
Excellent tips and it's great seeing what you can do and also how things can get out of hand. Thank you for showing us everything. It's really helpful to see your cueball striking location for most of your shots. Do you have any advice on whether the striking needs to be different when it comes to adding a little bit of side spin? Is it enough to deviate the object ball away from the pocket or is it only for cue ball positioning?
Thank you Stephen. Very nicely explained and easy to understand and follow. What I picked up in particular today (which I never thought about), if you move your bridge hand closer, you can gain more accuracy; distance apart and you are able to generate more power. Also really appreciate, no footage seems edited, but real time, even if you've missed a shot.
What a great video to learn pearls of wisdom from a Champion, fantastic for learning the Game.10/10😃
This Chanel just gets better and better - perfect mix of interviews and now coaching from the main man himself
I like the way you show the image of the cue ball with what position you are hitting it before you take the shot. Very helpful
I appreciate his honest non edit video. Thumbs up!
7:53 and you still are good Stephen! Great player of the game and still a wonderful delight to watch as a fan of the sport.
I haven’t played snooker for over 25 years but just this week my friend and I went to a club, local in norwich, my safety play was always good but my potting ability was week, could only manage to pot 4 balls together at the most, I will try this routine on my own, thank you so much Stephen for your help 🎱🎱🎱
Brilliant to watch and learn from The Maestro.
When Stephen Hendry was at his career peak, he was a player that if he put the practice in place he didn't worry about who his opponent was. He had goals in a game, probably the first was a good start? A hundred break or a clearance was a stastic that he accomplished so many times and that made his opponents understand that he wasn't going to make it easy for them. Falling over the line for a opponent was never a option while Stephen Hendry was playing, every player had to play their best to beat him and that's why there's so many memorable games attached to his career and the wins to prove it.
Great video ❤ it’ll be great to have more snooker experiences videos
Brilliant!! Thank you
Absolute legend! Loving these videos they are so helpful, plus he love Morrissey and The Smiths
Hi Steven
You have got your presentation format absolutely perfect , together with the ambience of your studio.
What a pleasant environment you have created. Thanks. Doc.
The ambience is really well-crafted, isn't it. :-)
Including misses makes this channel so much better! Really good channel from the legend of snooker!
The best snooker channel on here. Insights and observations galore from all participants. As a billiards player it's great to here of SM's interest, he should ask Aonghus McAnally about his ideas for some billiards and snooker matches involving Causier, Ghilchrist and others including him.
Good honest snooker tips from a much respected Man.
Great tips and drill Stephen! Cheers
great tips stephen im learning loads. A++++
Thank you Stephen much appreciated
Great tips Steven keep them coming
hands down the best exercise for proper pose - I suffered through this a lot around the time Mr. Hendry was busy setting records at the crucible - this new channel is amazing - thank you!
might have done well to remember to re-spot the blue ;)
This kind of material is what snooker needs to make it more interesting to young people, when I was growing up there were snooker clubs everywhere, then they became pool halls, I know snooker players have never been in the same lime light as other sport stars like footballers but this vid gave me so much motivation to go for a game of snooker that I'm literally off to go play snooker, if it inspires a 40 yo I can only imagine what it might do for that 15 yo kid who wants to learn more about this great sport, keep up the great work absolutely love this channel!
This is amazing what a legend
Wonderful vid, wonderful channel. Much appreciated by good and shoddy (me) players alike. Thanks a lot, Stephen!
Thanks for this, Stephen! I can really sympathise with you about accepting that you're not as good as you were once. For someone who won the World Championship 5 times in a row, to now showing us that you make mistakes like anyone else is amazing!
Sad bit about discovering your excellent channel Stephen, is there are no snooker clubs within many miles of where I live and I've definitely got a yen to play again. So thanks for that mate ;)
Have suggestion, maybe take the Hendry cue tips on tour to clubs across the UK/World? Even to Secondary/junior schools. Growing up I was never a Steven Hendry fan, Jimmy was my favourite to watch, I know I am not alone in that. However, had UA-cam existed back then, and I/we were able to watch and observe the real Mr Hendry as a person a gentleman and now a "Virtual" coach to us all. I would have been as I am now a massive Steven Hendry fan. Honest always, delivers tough love to his fellow pro's on commentary and sometimes live when interviewing them. I am certain they listen to and learn from what you say, even if they don't like it. Please keep them coming Steven, and please let me know where I can get one of those cue tips T-Shirts!
I can't pot the black off it's spot either, maybe I should turn pro! Love that you left those in for us Stephen, good stuff.
Learning from the misses... what a great way to show the value of that.
Priceless! Where are you gonna get this kind of coaching from a legend?
My skill improving day by day after seen your tips ❤
I appreciate the advice 👍
Great channel Steve keep up the good work/videos
Stephen, I wanted to let you know that as much as I enjoyed watching you play Snooker, your UA-cam videos mean more to me as a fan. I get to know you as a person, my hero growing up, which is awesome!
this is great, Thank you so much.
Massive fan Stephen of you and these videos. I play a lot of pool but when I play snooker it’s so hard! This all helps greatly. Just need to find more snooker clubs to play in?! I live in London. It’s shocking how few there are, especially clubs that are pleasant and not run down. Thank you again.
@StephenHendrysCueTips._
Hi Stephen, what a pleasant surprise to see your message this morning. Hope all good yourside. Best Darren
Excellent thanks very much Stephen, I will give this a go at my club :)
beyond everything, such a lovely practice room ))
Thank you Stephen.
I wish UA-cam had been around when I was playing - this stuff is gold.
Good job Thanks for sharing my friend ❤
Great stuff!!
Excellent video and channel thanks 🙏🏻
