I love watching you catch stuff of the pier and out in the bay i have been fishing for around 20 hours total this week with all fresh bait and trevally but i didnt even get a bite i love seeing you catch studf because it renews my hope that there will be a big fish next time i go out fishing.

I fish the local piers in California for Batrays. Strictly Catch and Release. They put up a good fight. Use a hoop net to land them.
When I fish, I'm grateful to catch something even if it is not the target species. I don't refer to bycatch as " trash fish". Just my respect for all species of fish.
I enjoy your videos Nev. Australian waters definitely hold a large variety of fish and many species that grow to a tremendous size. It is a fishing paradise. Continue to steward conservation and best sport fishing practices as possible to preserve your natural treasures.

Fresh, bled and chilled trevally is great sushi. The pier rats did well. Nice haul of shark and rays - so much for the snaps LOL ( they do like burley ).

I was always told if you twang the line like a guitar the stingrays get irritated and swim off the bottom. But you probably also don't want a huge ray flop'n about the kayak. lol

Hey Nev, do you have any tips for hooking the fish when you feel the bites? ive been out a few times and whenever i get bites i pull the rod up but they never hook. might sound dumb ik, but i havent gone fishing in ages lol
If it’s a circle hook let them eat if not you can either hook set or leave it

If anything bites, 7 out of 10 is a ray, 2 is a shark, 1 it is a fish..

Trevally is an amazing bait for snapper but I haven't had any luck this week I've been out twice 10 hours a day and no snapper I was using fresh trevally mullet squid and whiting but not even a bite :(
