How to make my own DIY Spider Repellent Ingredients
15 drops of Lime (or lemon) Doterra Essential Oil
15 drops of Peppermint Doterra Essential Oil
2 cups of water
at to an appropriate sized spray bottle, shake , and spray!!!

Thank you for this great idea, and especially thank you that you didn’t include picture of a spider in your video. In so many videos people seem to think they have to include pictures of the horrid things and I hate it! I’m planning on spraying under and around my bed tomorrow with the wonderful scent of lemon and peppermint! Thanks again! I never again want to see a spider in my bed! 😱

Here's a tip/ Since spiders like to hide, spray under furniture. Under any piece that isn't often moved. And not just baseboards but on the floor, where the heat comes out and don't forget the corners too!! Hope that helps! Peace out! xoxo

I've been using essential oils to get rid of spiders for years, but I've never tried lime for it. I've always used peppermint on cotton balls that I place around the house and outside on the patio. I love the idea of using the spray bottle instead of the cotton balls. You'd have to spray more often than I replace the cotton balls, but it just makes the house smell great anyway. I'm going to try this new spin on it! Thanks for sharing this!! I really enjoyed doing this collab with all of you ladies. Everyone has such awesome ideas! 💕
Do you feel that the essential oils were actually working? Were they actually keeping the spiders away?
I literally needed this today! Spraying around windows is definitely where I would have to spray for some reason there is always a fly or a spider always around the widow area!
For me it is always the corners of my roof

Thanks for the reminder on the Lime/Lemon oil NOT being used around cats. The Spiders still run from the peppermint, as do mice. YEAH essential oils. Keeping us free of pests without toxic chemicals.
In my house I also need to spray along the ceiling they come down from the attic.

I’ve only ever seen them in the movies and I e never even heard anyone mention one here. I’m sure there are some but I don’t think they are common

I've never found mint to be helpful for mice. They eat the mint from the garden, steal mint dental floss, and steal entire tubes of toothpaste to eat lol. Mint seems to attract every mouse within a ten-mile radius, regardless of which mint you use. My brother actually uses toothpaste to bait his mousetraps and it works every time. I just depend on my cats for the mice. As long as I can keep the eight-legged evil beasties out of my house, I'm good lol.
@@WaterfaerysDomain True! We literally had RATS steal a pack of mint gum off of our COUNTER!!! 😣😖 in the middle of the night of course but YUCK! Thank goodness THAT problem is gone but STILL!!!

We like spiders here Drea. They keep the flies away in the summer. The only thing with essential oils is that they are not good for guinea pigs. Some are toxic, others induce upper respiratory infections.

@@smellyfleawitch Because I support Drea as a creator. We got to know each other in another forum and we do mutually support each other, watching videos, making comments and generally being good UA-cam neighbours.
We just bought an old farm house that hasn't been lived in for 9 years. There are all types of spiders in every corner, window, closet, everywhere. I just shop vacuumed everything but I know the spiders will come back. I can't wait to try this!!!! 😊

Just as I was going to bed last night a massive one with hobnail boots and tattoos ran along the side of mattress and disappeared below it, I hid under my covers all night. I have just ordered the spray ingredients, I pray this works as I live alone and I am disabled so cannot get on the floor and move things around and trap it.
I like this spray idea as I would not want to hurt it, fingers crossed it packs its bags.

Will try! Wanna get those baseboards cleaner, put microfiber sweeper covers on your feet like socks. Swipe your mircofibered feet over baseboards and voila. I can't bend well so this helps me.

lishieandfamily oh I’ve heard really scary things about the spiders there lol. I’ve always wanted to go there but I’m so scared of spiders so it always pops in my mind when I think of it lol. We here in our household do not like spiders, ants , snakes ect. So I was look for a rep for that company because I believe as you do that the doterra line of oils are the best and great natural medicine also. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for the tip! :) Live in a home built in 1860 and LOVE IT (because it's SOLID AS A ROCK) but every now and then, SPIDERS! Some tan-ish and some BLACK! Loathe most ALL insects (except ladybugs and butterflies) but the spiders MUST GO! :) By the way... any tips on how often the spray should be used? Once a week, month, etc... :) Looking forward to your reply SOON. :) Am placing an order on amazon in a few days and would LIKE to include these oils :) OR will regular citrus juice (of these two fruit, options), suffice? The peppermint essential oil in my "neck of the woods" cost about $15 PLUS right now for ONLY about 1.5 oz!
Yaaaaassss mama I do the same I have my own DIY peppermint spray to spray my home as well because yes spiders do not like pepperment at all and I love the way it makes my house smell and I'm keeping those critters out. Ants don't like peppermint either just recently found that out so that might help in the kitchen as well. Does the oil damage the paint or flooring at all? That is my only concern.
I sprayed the hell out of my apartment. Not thinking about it today because I grabbed my favorite blanket off my bed and there was a big black spider there. So I killed him but he can have the bed tonight. I sprayed my livingroom chair where I would sleep tonight, the bed, baseboards my laundry basket with my clean clothes everything.
Last year I did a spray with orange oil and i also had orange air fresheners on all my widows and didn't see any of the little critters this year I haven't been able to get any orange air fresheners and there's loads of babies ones in my house even after spraying with the peppermint.oil I'll keep trying to get the orange oil and air fresheners .

Neat, Drea! Those spray tops can usually fit on glass acv bottles which may keep the EO from interacting with plastic. Just an idea if you have any around. I’ll bet it smells nice too. Thank you for sharing!

Spiders are the worst! All three of our girls are so scared. I need to make this. I’ve never tried doterra. I would love to.
Ingredients starts at 1:50 thank me later! 😅 oh lawd…it’s actually 2:34 - to spray bottle…2 cups of water, add 15 drops each of lime & peppermint essential oils. Not safe for cats. Ok for dogs.

Does Citranella essential oils work against spiders? I started using Citranella essential oil to keep the Scottish midges away because the midges in scotland is by far the worst bitting flying insect ever and Citranella seems to work good against them.
Spiders are annoying as I seem to get them in summer time. Peppermint doesn't work against mice as have tried it. The smell of peppermint is a refreshing smell that is pleasant and I do like peppermint tea.

Why include the lemon / lime? If It can be omitted, does the omission lessen the effectiveness of the spray? I do have a cat, so I can't use it. I knew about spiders hating peppermint, but I didn't know about the citrus thing.

Hello thx for this video as I was looking for a recipe to kill spiders. Would it be safe to add these oils into your regular detergent when washing your bedding? Also how about adding in these oils to your floor cleaner when mopping your floor? The more of these scents in my home the less spiders I hope to never see. 😁

don't have a spider issue, but I want to know a natural way, should they pop up, now on to the video, I do not have any lime or lemon oil, but I do have peppermint oil. So is the lemon and the lime oil dangerous for cats or just one of them? If it is just one, which one, the lemon or the lime? My cat passed away, but I plan on getting another one soon, so I want to be safe.

I'm going to try this. I was rearranging furniture like an old desk & old dresser. & when I went to clean up the embarrassing amount of dust left behind from them, I noticed a bunch of little spiders/webs. Ughhhhh. I've heard peppermint works, so I'm making this right now. Fingers crossed!
