We loved it too! We actually had a long, very nerdy conversation about their seed book, and learned that baseball card holders might be too small for holding most seed packets. Plastic sleeves meant for holding 4x6 photos might be better, OR you could go the extra mile like Richard, and *sew* your plastic sleeves for a customizable fit! They also have found that organizing alphabetically by plant types (so by "carrot" or "pea") rather than by specific varieties makes it easier to find what you're looking for.
This is so beautiful. It's inspiring. Are all of them on drip irrigation or do you hand water each one? I know that's a hard thing with container gardens in utah is that they lose water quickly and have to be watered frequently. I always forget and anything not auto-watered dies.
That's an excellent question! And an important consideration when planning a container garden. On our shoot it appeared that only a few containers (maybe 25%) were on drip because of existing irrigation lines for an old vegetable garden that was removed when the nearby trees matured and shaded the area out. Because one of the advantages of container gardens is mobility, the loss of drip as an option might be the trade off. Self-watering planters can be a great option!
Unfortunately no, it’s a private home. If your in Salt Lake City look up Wasatch Community Gardens’ Urban Garden and Farm Tour in which they take homeowner submissions to have they’re yard and garden featured.
Unfortunately my house doesn’t have a backyard!
What about your front yard?! 😃
A lot of love and a lot of hard work. Its beautiful and impressive. Congrats on some recognition and creating such a peaceful place. Love you both!
I love your idea of keeping the seed packets in the baseball card holders!

A lot of fun and creative ideas I look forward to stealing to use in my own garden :)
Can I visit the garden in person?
