Hi darren, nice video again, looked a bit of a stinker of a day that. A do fancy the kind of work you do everydays different. I'm doing the containers the now and as you said at the start its mind numbing doing the same routes 2/3 times a day 5 days a week 👎 southwaite is always my go to services when doing the trunking its basicslly half way from most places i go to so breaks up the drive.

Also too add, lived in Gateshead my entire 31 years and NEVED see HGVs deliver at that spot haha! Was nice seeing my local roads on your vlog, brilliant driving as always thoughh.

@Life_of_Darren no worries fella! Everytime I go down go Liverpool, I take the long route, A1 to M6 Carlisle way, it's just amazing scenes during sunrise and sunset.

Was up there last year taking a day out to see Hadrian's Wall. Its an amazing place to see. Took the first brown sign which took me to a fort (there's lots of these types of things to see along the A69). Anyway, on some parts of the road (not A69), you felt you were actually driving the wall itself. Amazing. The place I went to, there was a museum, and they'd built a replica of the wall as it would have been back during the Roman times. It was absolutely massive, especially imagining how it was built from east to west. And when you look over towards Scotland, the undulations of the ground that must be about half a mile that was also built along with the wall. I don't think the Scots could really get across it all. I live in Denton, Manchester, and from there to Cheerbrook Farmshop just on the outskirts of Nantwich, and where you can go to Crewe (A500) - coming off the M6 at J.16, usually takes me an hour on a good day, and that's not pushing it
I keep telling myself to visit the wall museum one day, next time we’re up that way I might pop in
Junction 43 to Scottish border is only around 10 miles

Hi Daren. Your video has reminded me of the hardest reverse I had to do. I was traveling back on the over night frieght ferry from Zeebruger to Dartford back in 2005 and had to do a sighted side reverse onto the ship into the right then swing right up a ramp not much wider the my lorry then at the top swing right again and back between 2 lorrys into a gap that you could just about fit a fag paper between. Ah, happy days. The banksmen were brilliant though. Hope the wee man is ok.. Keep on being a knight of the road.

Hi carlisle is 10 to 15 miles from the border. U were saying about driving depends on what u are carrying not always sutibale for everyone like a tramper with kids you know sometimes you cant. Be there for family events no 9 to 5 jobs anymore buddy my freind dose four on four off loves it take care darren love the vids
4 on 4 off does sound good tbf, as you mentioned there isn’t a 9-5 style jobs anymore
Hope you did not go into Greggs - just saw a glimpse you may not have edited . These companies know about limited space but also know the delivery will cost more for a smaller vehicle.
Yeah popped in, it’s a huge place but the yard space in tiny and pretty tight too

When doing tight reversing around corners, do the back tyres of the trailer basically get dragged sideways across the tarmac?
They can do if it’s really tight, it’s not ideal but sometimes you don’t have the space to shunt forward to straighten the trailer
Am looking to get my license soon but not sure how to look for work do you know any agencies, that’s maybe you’ve tried?
Try everything on indeed when you pass (even class 2 work will count towards your 2 years experience and easier to find at first) a lot of job ads on indeed are agency too.
But I’d recommend handing your cv into local companies as that works the best
Food,drink,skip companies...you will always find work...crap jobs,but you will gain invaluable experience,and a few grey hairs 😆

Fun fact: one trip from east to west coast of USA is around 3000 miles. Your "little" 400 mile jaunt will take you in US either to Canada, upstate NY, slightly into the mid-West. BTW: Trump built 458 miles of wall before the current sitting president halt it for reasons I won't disclose. Trump never got to finish the wall before his time in office was over.
