We all miss you, Ed! But we all understand after a while YT just gets mundane, boring and basically pointless. Take care of yourself, and if you ever wanna make videos - We'll all be here for you!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Ed. Keep them coming when you can please, we all enjoy them. All the best to you Ed from me here in the U.K. Take care fella.
Wow i never thought i would ever see one of these old Phillips VCR units again. These where pre beta and VHS but similar to the Sony u matic. The head in the 1700 model of the Philips was in very short supply and they solved that problem by pricing it so no one would want to buy one.
Yes,! that is another autopsy I have to do, I found it at the scrap yard, its a wreck and even at the time I figured it was just a VCR until I got the smashed top cover off and found its a single spindle, almost 8-track style of mechanism
Thanks for taking the time - you are a talented machinist -jack of all trades - you seem to know about everybody thing - your vids are a great watch. Your work vids are good - keep at it if you can but you gotta have a life as well.
ed i will be a subscriber to the end of UA-cam or this Chanel i truly thank you for sharing the wealth of knowledge you have over the years truly unique way of presenting and explanation that you wont find anywhere else with the mix of blowing stuff up it was a perfect combo
You are one of the first chanels i have sub many years ago...just upload raw vids of anyting your doing...no time spending editing...it is Always interesting...greatings from Portugal
It’s sad to see you not posting as many videos as you used to. Watching your videos and photonicinduction’s when I was like 10 years old is what got me so interested in electronics to begin with. Now I’ve got my own little electronics bench and an industrial robot to mess with. Anyway, keep up the videos, even ones like this are nice.
I know how you feel about uploading vids, I've not done one on my other channel since September, just not had the will to do it, plus I've not had the money to buy cheap projects either, so, pretty much killed my video-making right there... :(
The same thing with an alternator happened on my Jeep. It felt like it was cranking at half speed. I took the belt of the alternator and it spun right up.
A Certificate of Roadworthiness (also known as a ‘roadworthy’ or ‘RWC’) shows that your vehicle’s safe enough to be used on public roads. A roadworthy is required whenever a vehicle’s sold, if it’s being re-registered, and to clear some defect notices.
Glad to see you're doing well. Always a welcomed surprise to see a new one of your videos in my feed. What ever happened to that old Kemper generator of yours?
I'm still here Ed, and I ain't leaving! :D Too bad for the Merc! Crazy how much German/high end car parts are. That's why I avoid them. I almost did some work on a Maserati, but my gut said "That car will be a nightmare to work on". Some of these exotic cars you need to take the engine out for an oil change. That's a horrid design. Have you ever thought about building a race car? Isn't racing really popular Down Under? I recommend filming the Merc repair. I'll definitely watch it. Cheers!
Ed, While life goes on, we appreciate the occasional video. Sad that you are not able to put out the volume of content you once did. Best wishes from the 🇺🇸
haha I have one of those Vito 160A air cooled alternators, I would fit it if the bolt pattern actually lined up, but sadly it does not :( I may rob some parts out of it if need be tho.
Quitting my day job for UA-cam would be a really crap idea for me (Plus I like my day job). The days of making money let alown big money are long gone, UA-cam hit its peek years ago now & even back then it was pretty much the luck of the draw. Now UA-cam is in its decline until it dies as the service has never made a profet & costs billions a year to run. How much longer is anyones guess.
@@arkzup In the inline 5, not sure about the inline 4. The oil pump dosn't self prime. so you might get about 15 maybe 20 minutes when you change the oil. yeh, starter struggling and pulling a crap load of amps LOL, managed to drive her home with no power steering (heavy old bitch)
You can get alternator pulley tools very cheap from ebay.

Can always get a cheap Holden/Ford Ute 1 tonner to replace the Merc, cheap, cheerful and easy to maintain. Great to see a video though!
I was hoping you'd get the genny making power. Don't scrap the parts that count. Cheers ...
Too bad you're down in upside down land, I'd loan you my alternator decoupler remover/installer kit...
all good, I will find one, or buy a cheap kit. wont be the first time I deal with these sprag clutch pulleys

The spline adapters for the alt pulleys are pretty cheap from China.
I have one here you can have, that may or may not be correct :P
Good to hear from you Ed , still got the HYAGOIN Arizona plate on display ?
I still have the other on display in my garage, When people comment on it I tell them the duplicate is in Australia. Where is wish i was !
