A lot of U.K. cities have large pedestrian districts. Brighton is a tourist town at the beach, I suspect whatever car-free areas they have are expanded on weekends /in the summer. Busking is an important part of the holiday town vibe, but so are small shops and restaurants for tourists to wander around.
Enjoying your reactions! It was Goran's strap, and he likes to have his bass slung low. Ren plays it slung high, so he looped it over the guitar body. Goran replaced it with the strap Ren's comfortable with (with a head pat.) He say's, "There you go, mate." when it's switched.
I lived just 2 minutes away from where they performed. That street is very commercial so they block cars from entering that area so people can wonder around in the streets. It's a lovely area and not having to worry about getting hit by a car is amazing.
This is such an amazing performance, I gotta subscribe now. Don't know how far you've gone, but there's a ton of very good The Big Push videos on UA-cam, plus lots of collaborations/duets with his friends. Plus Ren's solo catalog is huge. Good luck with your reactions/reviews.
Hey brother great video. I definitely like the base and guitar solos. There's not a lot of music these days that you actually get nice guitar solos like these. And definitely not base solos. But anyway man keep up the great work and you'll be at 1K before you know it. It's been a long journey my friend
The strap wasn't broken, and I don't think that Gorran cared whose strap it was. However, it is an acoustic strap. It only has an eyelet for the strap button on one end and a set of ties on the other end (these tie around the headstock on an acoustic). Ren was using it (not sure if he put it on there or Gorran - heck, I'm not even sure whose bass it is) by using the looped material (that normally allows you to adjust the length of the strap) around the upper horn of the bass. Gorran knew he would be playing in that song and my guess is that acoustic only has the bottom strap button. I also assume that was the only strap they had with them with ties. So, he either needed to grab that strap then, not play the acoustic during that song, or try to play without a strap. Wasn't there, don't know for sure, but that is how I see it based on how the straps were set up and being used.
Go back and watch the beginning. The strap was broken or something. He had it improvised like a sling, instead of hooked in where it should be, so Gorran went over and changed it out. Look at how it was and look at how it was after he fixed it.
@TheSinDen right? I didn't know to explain it correctly, just that it wasn't right, lol. I laughed out loud when Gorran rubbed the back of Ren's head 🤣
Great to see you enjoying The Big Push and yes we are very privileged to have the likes of them playing on our Brighton streets.
There a great group together and all so talented
This session is just such a lovely treat to sink into

Oh, and I freaking love this busking session. One of my favorites!

Awesome ❤️😎🇬🇧
You are doing a great job
Thank you!
God I love this performance, my fave after the I shot the sheriff mash up. REN plays his bass high whereas Gorran plays low so they switched strap. 🖤

Lots of city centres in the UK are pedestrianised and most are at least partly pedestrianised.
Ahh thats cool.. Small town here like 9k people
