    Very interesting. I'm a Pro Tools user but David's comments have really made me think. I admire the work he has done over the years and find his project of scoring for Ocean Odyssey fascinating. Great to see he's continuing in his work.

    Perfect explanation. 👍 Nuendo might be my future, because everything is pointing to surrownd.

    Thanks David,
    Which hardware joystick are you using to surround pan. I also mix multichannel installs currently a 29.2 and a 21.1 and still mouse panning all my elements.

    Everything in Cubase is in Nuendo and much more…..why do we then need Cubase for one thing and Nuendo for other things (i mean as long as music is concerned)???. I know Nuendo goes further for audio-post production. I ditched my Cubase when I got Nuendo in 2020 because it has everything Cubase and more...If I were David Kahne, I would use only Nuendo, and then route all my analog gear to it, do all my music production and mixing in it, and everything else. But again, this was 2018, so it might have made sense then to compartmentalize, but post-2020, the demarcations between Cubase and Nuendo (in terms of music production) have completed narrowed or disappeared completely.

    Not a Cubase or Nuendo user, but in 2022, is there any reason to use Cubase and Nuendo versus just Nuendo? Like, is Cubase offering superior capabilities for x in 2022?

    Hi there, a newbie here. Recently I purchased a Yamaha TF3 console and it goes with Nuendo live software. Wondering if Nuendo is just for recording and need to work on with Cubase for editing? Or Nuendo is already a DAW like cubase? What's the difference?

      You can think of Nuendo Live as a multitrack recorder. It is made to be just that, and it's very convenient for that purpose. With Nuendo (not Live) and Cubase you can edit, mix and manipulate all you want.

    Very promising , just hope the germans get to finally understand the word simplicity or simple and what is and should be difficult and complicated .., overal the sound of cubase n nuendo is elegant ...

      it's not a song. it's a silly loop somebody pulled out of some library. totally generic thing to stay out of the way of the interview.

      Since 1994 Till this day, I have never used PT for anything. NOw I just convert sessions from clients to audio stems and up they go to Nuendo or Cubase.

    I have never watched a 10-minute spot with the same piece of stock music on a constant loop... I also used that same track in an insurance commercial a few years ago... Yeah, super specific to me, but also distracting, especially when the video is about composition and mixing in Steinberg's two flagship products.

    • @mizurashi2643
      @mizurashi2643 4 роки тому

      Could be a case of Steinberg not wanting to pay mechanical royalties when they could play royalty free music instead. It makes business sense

    • @MrMoviePhoneEx
      @MrMoviePhoneEx 4 роки тому +1

      @@mizurashi2643 You got a point, but there's a difference between good business sense, and what makes sense for your business. These guys specialize in Audio tools, using throw-away stock music doesn't exactly inspire me to use their products. Cost-saving measures aside, they really should be doing something more here. Also, using the same track for 10 minutes is almost unheard of, only so many times you can fade in and out of the same run or use the same stem over and over again.

    What kind of production values put crappy plinky plonky piano music over someone speaking on this subject? It is distracting and unnecessary.
