      Steph had never shot below average efficiency, or percentages. Much less have the worst efficiency on his own damn team.

    EVERY team tries to go at Hauser and it makes little sense. He's not the greatest defender, but he's held his own most of the year. Gets offenses out of their entire flow trying to target him. Not to mention help defenders like Rob that are available whenever someone does break him down.

    • @TechRambles
      @TechRambles Рік тому +6

      @@duanedoldrum7570 Sure, if you're just gonna iso, he's probably the best target. But clearly just trying to get Hauser switched onto the ball handler and then attacking him hasn't worked great. That seems like it'd be best served for maybe a late shot clock situation where you need something to happen, but instead it seems like a core piece of their offensive gameplan.

    • @RobotBoy76
      @RobotBoy76 Рік тому

      Not many weak links on the C's D so Hauser must seem like a ray of sunshine for opponents. He has held up okay to this point and is certainly not the liability he was a year ago. Still, it's difficult to understand exactly why he's playing in this series - through two games (26 minutes), Hauser has taken exactly three shots, made one, and scored a grand total of three points. If Hauser isn't shooting then...? The C's have far superior defenders on the bench who can give three points on offense.

    • @louisg6296
      @louisg6296 Рік тому +1

      @@RobotBoy76 That is true, but I think that since Hauser is known as a shooter, he brings some gravity on offense even though he does not shoot much. The celtics don't really have someone else for this position (Grant Williams can't play the 3), and Hauser only plays a few minutes anyway.

Trae comes out at that mark, but comes right back in at the 3 minute mark in the 1st, and plays until around the 8 minute mark in the 2nd. That is a set rotation by Quin. Peak Trae Young is worse than old ass Lebron.

When you pause the video mid action I think my connection is bad and the video is stuttering. Some zooming, drawing or anything will be a perfect solution. When you pause the video and say that (for example) Young can pass to this guy in the corner ( I don't know his name perhaps) you can circle him or zoom in on him to show how open he is. Trae can become one of the best offensive creators in the league. It sucks that he is plagued by inconsistent decision making. That's why his shooting percentages have taken a hit. He was nailing a lot of these deep 3's early in his career because no one really expected them. Now he is forcing things when they used to be natural. Makes for very frustrating viewing. If he would just drive on a lot of these 3's instead of bailing out the defense constantly, the Hawks wouldn't have such a problem offensively. Like you are doing the defense and the other team a favor by making it to where they don't have to really work. I am sure many teams would rather have Trae shoot a contested or even an open 3 12 seconds into the shot clock and then corral the rebound than deal with defending a drive. His floater is so good as well, but he just doesn't go to it often enough.
    Trae needs to improve his fundamental BBIQ a lot over the summer while putting on at least 5 to 10 lbs of more muscle. Dude has the ability, he just needs to get back to basics and refine them because right now he is fundamentally lacking.

      Hawks don't need another guard. Having multiple ball dominate guard on the same team NEVER WIN IN THE PLAYOFFS! Just go look at every team thats chosen to go guard heavy. I wouldn't mind a pure shooting guard or small forward with Murray but the Hawks need to replace Collins & Hunter. Hawks screwed up letting Huerter go because he's the type of guard you need with a ball dominate point guard like Young or Murray. Go watch the Portland Trailblazer when they decided to load up on ball dominate guards. The model is Golden State where you had a Curry with a great shooting guard that didn't need 25 shots & an athletic forward. You can get away without having a dominate center nowadays but you have to have good forwards. Clint Capela is actually out of place on this team because hes to slow & cant get back. Hawks better trade Young because they got to much money tied up in him. If you go back and watch the 2020 run the Hawks relied on Gallinari & Huerter more than people realize. Sure Young had some high scoring games but several of those games where won by the others.

He's so good at passing and drawing fouls but he undermines those skills with absolutely terrible defense (bad even considering his physical limitations), how he generally does nothing off the ball, and the terrible shots he takes. He's often been compared to curry early in his career (he's definitely not anywhere near curry) but what makes curry so good is that he is constantly a threat to score whether or not he has the ball. Curry cuts, screens, and relocates until he finds a crack in the defense. With how small young is in the NBA, and without supreme athleticism, he has to find a way to be devastatingly efficient on offense with his movement and decision making.

He throws away passes because he's not focused worrying when the next smart steal is coming. Throw in the timelord at the rim and that's going to push him into taking 3's more than driving. and i bet it's not enticing when after a turnover/missed shot, the celtics force him to play defense by posting up marcus smart or have D.white run around a bunch of picks.
