Plot armor is the most powerful kind of armor
I’d just rather go after a large number of lower risk/lower paying bounties and make things easier and safer for me while still making a comfortable living. Also Wedge, having survived the attacks on both Death Stars without special powers (and being a minor character so lacking plot armor) is easily the best pilot in Star Wars.
It also seems a lot easier walk up to them and stun them then haul them in. All that monologuing and ultimatums is a mistake.

Yeah, it seems like becoming a niche hunter (I'll handle spice runners in sector so and so and live somewhere warm. A couple scars, maybe a bad time here and there, but nothing crazy.) or a wandering sort of hunter are the safest ways to do it.
Boba Fett collected not one but TWO bounties on Han Solo (even with his plot armor). Wouldn't that qualify him as the top Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy?
Not really you know the Caps of the Jedi now if you're a bounty hunter Can you capture a Jedi then you are a master at the craft but if you capture Darth Vader then congratulations you will probably get killed by the Empire but you'll go down in history and be beloved by the rebels
I like how Gen doesn't over hype Din. "he's a skilled combatant who doesn't really excel in anything but his armor." I've always disliked when people over hyped him, some say he's Better than Boba Fett, some say he's the best Mando ever know. Honestly the only reason why he's alive is because of his armor which is practically the closest thing to literal plot armor we've ever seen, it bits literal armor that can and will deflect any and all on coming laser blasts along with even being able to withstand a fricken lightsaber. Really all you see him doing is fumbling around the Galaxy being turned into a laser pin cushion. Boba Fett had a lot more training and was a lot more skilled.

@@zelithfang2365 it turns out that, when forged by a skilled armorer, beskar's crystalline structure can attract nearby blaster bolts in flight. Metallurgy experts call this crystalline structure "plotrocite"

This was already in Star Wars lore prior to Disney taking over beskar is one of a handful of rare materials and metals that can legitimately not be penetrated by a blaster or lightsaber
Yeah his armor helps a lot but he’s not exactly bad at combat I’d say he’s above average, you also notice how when he stands in the open he’s shot more than others standing in the open using the exact same movements, it’s just to highlight his armor people aiming at him are a lot more accurate than when they are shooting at anyone else. It’s not just the armor.
There's another incredibily dangerous bounty: on Darth Maul. That one was retired when Maul tracked down the idiot and forced him to annull it and turn over all his money. Then Maul killed the idiot.

@@childishisnotachild7277 That part wasn't specifically covered in the short story, but it might have been meant as either a distraction for more capable Bounty Hunters in the area, or as a not-so-subtle message for Han.
Edit: I do remember this part: Han's bounty was technically picked up by a team of three Bounty Hunters, including Greedo. The other two sent Greedo to handle Han alone because they knew he would fail, and they wanted to collect Greedo's bounty from a Rodian warlord, instead. Which was almost as high as Han's.

I became a big fan of Wedge Antilles after reading the X-Wing series of novels. Granted they're no longer canon but his version of rogue squadron are a bunch of badass mother frakkers!

Hunting down sidious isn’t a death wish or sucidial. It’s literally walking into your execution. No matter how skilled you are, how smart you are, how well trained you are, Sidious is above it. The guy can see the future, can disarm Vader without even lifting a finger, and sword to sword, power to power? He beat Yoda. A basic god among the Jedi.
Love the quote from Obi Wan at the end. Straight out of one of the of the most memorable dialogues between two characters in the entire franchise. Possibly the most memorable period.

Darth Vader is easily the worst bounty here. Not only is he a powerful Sith, he has plot armor. There's no way this is gonna end well for you.

Yeah, it's not really worth watching. And yes they do stretch the magical beskar armor, especially if you compare it to clone commando armor or beskar mando armor in the clone wars animated shows.

Darth Vader was a terrible idea for any bounty hunter to collect in universe.
Besides being probably the most terrifying living solo combatant at the time, and having the entire galactic empire behind his back for the most part, not to mention magic space powers and more... What would you even do once you completed the bounty if somehow against all odds you got lucky and defeated fate itself to kill the force prophisied chosen one?
The entire empire would now have you as its top bounty, and every bounty hunter that was under the empires payroll would now be after you, all those credits would soon be spent being overcharged by a hutt cartel or made useless as they you had pretty much nowhere else you could go without being instantly blasted to pieces by the empires countless numbers of star destroyers. You'd pretty much be either dead, conscripted to service for a cartel with your identity disguised, or now a hero of the rebel's seemingly suicidal cause(who don't have anywhere to spend what sizable bounty darth vader would have, really.), without any other choices presented to you. While the rebels might seem nice, and given plot armor they were able to win, in reality they were hopelessly outgunned until they managed to assassinate the Emperor(how the entire galactic empire completely fell apart on his 'death' with no contingency is a mystery to me). Now that Darth Vaders dead(And now no longer able to do his destined role to kill palpatine and restore balance to the force), it would seem to be leading to an ultimately bad ending unless you could defeat the deathstar 2.0 as well as palpatines entire fleet, and whatever other apprentice he decides to take up in the meantime (Spider Darth Maul?). Rey would have no rebels to learn who Luke even was, if Luke even survived up until that point, given he was screwed against Palpatine's Force Lightning in the movies, and that even getting to Palpatine in the first place was due to Vader as well. The end result would be the subjugation of the outer rim via planet destroyer, and the rebel cause being dashed to pieces against a wrathful Palpatine as he would absolutely roll over the rebels when for each person they have he could send a fully staffed star destroyers until they had nowhere else to go.
To be fair I'd love to see a mini series of all the bounty hunters who go out into the galaxy hunting the dark lord of the sith Darth Vader lol 😂 that I'd love to see all the hunters in a small space in the dark with a crimson blade ready to slash away !!! Love it

first tip i can give any bounty hunter to be. it doesn't matter how skilled of a fighter you are, a suit of beskar goes a long way. second tip, know how much you can chew. just because individuals like han solo, darth vader, and other high paying bounties are like a premium cut steak, doesn't mean they are worth jumping into a sarlac pit over. 3rd tip, you can't tell if the body is dead or alive in carbonite. if the target is too dangerous to be transported alive, but requires them to be alive for the pay out, you can always take them out and freeze them in carbonite after. the chances that the target will be defrosted after are quite low and pretty soon you'll get your payout.
I remember wedge from the 4th level of start wars squadrons were you have to capture the star destroyer.

Actually Boba Fett was pretty successful at nabbing Han Solo, it was Jabba’s stupidity that allowed him to escape.
Han threw that guy at least 10 feet. He definitely has hidden force powers.
Han probably could have been trained as a Jedi if he'd been found as a kid, such was his intermediate connection with the Force (6500-7000 mpc). He wouldn't have ever been a knight, much less a master, but he would have made a decent addition to the explorer or diplomatic corps. That was the reason for his crazy luck and uncanny ability to be where he needed to be at any time.
Could you imagine a Mandalorian Jedi Bounty Hunter, not only a full suit of Beskar, an arsenal to rival a small imperial garrison, but the force and a lightsaber. That’s probably the reason Mandalorians we’re not taken into being Jedi after Tarre Vizsla

I can definitely see a problem with putting a bounty on a Jedi Padawan or even a youngling that survived order 66. They will not have the restraint of a full blown Jedi and will likely kill their hunter without hesitation.

One of Din's greatest strengths is his iron confidence in his armor. He completely trusts it to stop ANY blaster that attacks him. I'm like any other combatant in the galaxy he's ambushed his first instinct is to counter-attack. Not Dodge, not dive for cover. If you walked around the corner and a hail of bolts was throwing his way he would stand there fire off a couple shots and then get to cover. Very few Mandalorians would be willing to do that, much less anyone else in the galaxy! It's an advantage almost nobody would be prepared for.
